For tapping I'd say Greg Howe, that whole sequence on the Jump Start solo is absurd. Also Paul Gilbert's tapping on Frenzy still eludes me.

I was practicing a greg howe solo for a while, might have to pick it back up again. for sure i'll be doing more paul gilbert and doing a video on his tapping licks is a great idea!

Steve Vai made me want to learn to tap. Your fluidity with it is also pretty inspiring. Love how you've summed things up here nicely. The soloing at the end was also incredible. Thank you for putting it all together. You have given me something new to add to my trick bag!

haha, yeah i think i know what you mean, i honestly dont use tapping much while improvising nowadays (which is why i used that clip; i couldnt find a good one with right hand tapping) but i had a feeling people would find these techniques fun and helpful here on youtube :) and no worries! any questions let me know !

Hi what a great lesson, and if it was good enough for Seve Hackett then it is certainly good enough for a lesser mortal like myself. I wanted to say that I really appreciate the amount of time you must have spent on this and the selfless way you put this on You tube so that people like me can integrate these ideas in to our own licks/sets. Many thanks Pete

Honestly, Vai was the one who made me want to learn to tap. I heard the guitar solo from "Bad Horsie" when I was like 13 and I've not been the same since 😂

I had a quick watch, looks awesome. i think the tapping lick your hearing is a pedal tone style tap (a bit like the one near the start of the Mateus Asato demon slayer solo i transcribed). I think Vai is also using a stereo delay which makes it sound almost harmonized. There is a crazy sweep/ eccomony picked lick in there too which is awesome. thanks for sharing! :D
