    Mine is on its way right now. I’ve been prospecting collecting watches for years, got sober, and now the hobby and my new family have kept me clean. I’m very excited to get this bad boy in a couple of days. Thank you for such an informative and well put together video on the watch and it’s history.

    Very nice though prefer the non diamond version with lumed indices and the contrasted sub dials.

    I’ve seen the Diamond dial before, and wow. I could only imagine seeing this in the metal. 🔥🔥🖼🔥🔥

    i do prefer the non diamond face with the brown sub dials better, but either one is a stunner

    Great video..another small difference. The hands on the baguette version have black running through them

    Definitely the king 👑 of Daytona’s, but the Day-Date will always be the king 🤴 of all Rolex’s.

      What defines the king for you? If it's exclusively and market value, then it's the Rainbow. Another one that is more exclusive and way more valuable than the Panda is the Platinum Daytona. I might put the Platinum Daytona as the king, even over the Rainbow, just because it's the 50th Anniversary Daytona. So you could argue it's the king for the same reasons you could argue the Panda is the king, and then some, and then you have the Anniversary point to make on top. I might even rate my SS black over my Panda. There's awesome depth and richness to the black dial that the white dial simply doesn't have. On the other hand, there is a crispness and pop to the white dial that the black doesn't have. I have the SS black, the white (Panda), two-tone, Oysterflex, solid gold (including the Newman and Rainbow), and I just acquired a Platinum Daytona. I'm going to lay them all out in front of me this weekend and put them in order of preference. It should be a fun exercise. BTW, my two-tone is a Tahitian MOP with baguette hour markers. I think it might be the coolest, and most unique, dial of all of my Daytonas. It's also now discontinued. Perhaps that's the king. ;)

      Oh, and I don't disagree with you on your comment regarding the Day-Date. When it comes to that piece two of mine come to the top...from a configuration standpoint, I prefer my yellow gold with a black dial and baguette hour markers. There's a striking contrast to that configuration that no other Day-Date can match (IMHO). I have two of the 60th Anniversary Day-Dates (defined by the Olive Green dial with Roman numerals). One is in everose and one is in Platinum. The everose is rich in the Platinum is super elegant. Would be tough to rank those three considering the way they look, the materials, and the fact that two of the three are 60th Anniversary pieces.

    It's just another flex watch due to
    price and accessibility. a light blue with a Brown bezel doesn't go

    Idk about it being the king of Rolex watches but it's a nice watch. the Day date is the king, especially the Day date with the ruby dail. This watch is just hyped. I honestly don't care for it.

    The Cosmograpgh was a failed moonwatch. You forget to mention that, if was then repurposed as a sports/racing theme

    I just acquired this piece from my AD this week. It's fascistic. I would call my Rainbow Daytona the king but it's a bit too crazy to wear everyday...so this one may be the King.

      @@damachine3 Mashallah !! So give me some advice please since you know your watches. I have the platona in the regular dial, got it this March and don’t ask what I paid( grey market ) but an AD in Abu Dhabi said if I wanted to change the dial to a baguette dial he’d do it for me for approx $10k. Would it be worth it and would it effect the value of my watch? I’m quite confused but don’t want to ruin the value for the future

    • @damachine3
      @damachine3 2 года назад +2

      @@amomand5556 I'm a collector but I'm not an expert in resale values and how dial changes would affect the value. I do know people who could answer that question for this specific case, however. Personally, no matter what they say, I wouldn't change it. If you really want the pure ice blue dial with the baguettes then I would sell your current Platona and just pay the difference to get the one you truly want. It will always be in the back of your mind that it's not 100% factory.
