The fact that Trott actually did art and Lewis does do art is crazy, you can see the individual styles they do. Ross’ was by far the best, Smith...well yeah smith is...
Hello my dead name, I agree with you this have come to the conclusion that you are past me. Thus I’m here to deliver the message “lol your going to be life’s jizz mop”
I've always said this, and I still believe it - even if Ross doesn't believe it himself - but Ross is the most creatively talented member of Hat Films.
If he puts in some genuine effort and training, yes. Trott is in my opinion better but he puts more effort in his works/art and I believe it is actually the best trott can do. Ross would be able to make something better.
@@pieisdeath30 sorry I don't, however I do know it's the one that came out a few days before Smith's birthday video (I usually listen in bulk so they blend together a bit?
Ross did a phenomenal job at making a piece of expressive art that felt really complete, Trott did a beautiful illustration, Smith's is quite fun and lighthearted and Lewis's actually feels quite expressive and interesting! Would absolutely love to see this become a long-running series if you fancied it, to see how you all develop your own styles and flair
As someone who has studied art I can legitimately find merit in all of them, I think they're all fantastic paintings. Even Smith's, it evokes a sort of childish surrealism, almost on par with David Shrigley. I could probably write an essay about these paintings.
"It's not a million miles away from being alright" - Alec Smith, 2021 EDIT: also, yes I do want more of Dart Attack And Other Funny Artistic Adventures With Hat Films (TM) from this channel thank you
Wow, honestly Trott's and Ross' paintings were pretty good. I also loved that the painting of Lewis looked like him and Smith's painting of Ziggy Stardust riding a bike on Mars. I'd love to see more painting videos.
The whole story about smiths painting, the mission Lewis had with modelling paste, green and blue, Ross being genuinely good, the dynamic colours of Trott. All fantastic paintings and great banter
I can actually imagine all 4 of those being in a real art gallery, especially Ross’ that was amazing! These recent videos have been really enjoyable :)
the absolute GALL of Ross to get the three primary colors and then be shocked when they work together well LMAO! loved this a lot, I genuinely liked all the paintings! :^D
the painting videos have legit been so fun to watch, they're really chill and its really cool to see how you all interpret whatever it is you've tasked yourselves to paint, and its also nice to just see you have fun with it, cause its so easy with creative hobbies to worry about whether what you're doing is any good, and forget that we do these things for the sake of enjoying them. if there are any more painting videos in the future i shall be delighted
Pretty incredible actually, Ross has real genuine sense of balance and light/dark in his work. I know he lucked out with the primary colors, but its really well executed (and the drip? The way he respected it as a part of the piece) very artist of him
Everyone's paintings were fantastic, i really enjoyed this. I've enjoyed watching Alex (gradually) improve with his artistic side. Ross and Trott made wonderful paintings. it was great having Lewis there too. it would be cool to see more yogs come on and paint with the hats!
Loved this video, would love to see more art/painting videos from you guys. I love the art style of Lewis' painting, the mood of Trotts, the blend of colour in Ross' and the humour in Smith painting. Great stuff
Always great to see the hats do art. As usual, Trott and Ross continue to improve and make amazing work. I hope the IRL painting becomes a staple cause I love it.
I love the dynamic that Lewis brings to this group. Also, I think Ross's painting is the most impressive, but I was surprised with how good all 4, sorry, 3 were. Love these paint/art related videos :)
I didnt expect much from a painting stream but Ive enjoyed them and the 4th Hat Films member too. When their next CD comes out they can now do their own covers!
Rosp easy fave for me. Get some water for your paints, assuming they're acrylic; you can get a nice watered down base on your canvas before layering on the thick stuff. At least that's what I remember from college.
I assume you just mean character design, seeing as *AOT ANIME SPOILERS* As far as I know Lewis isn't going to try and sterilise the entire Yogscast to stop monsters
Would love to see them return to the pieces they've done with the critiques they made in mind to make a better rendering. I.E. - Smiffy saying he wished he added texture prior
Love them all! Ross and trot had the most visually appealing, and I feel that I would know that was a picture of Ross with out being told who it was. So good job boys!
I love these art videos, please do more! Ross' is certainly fantasic, and Lewis' definitely captures him somewhat, good stuff boys. I feel bad for Smith, not because I think his art is sub par, but because I think HE thinks it is and feels bad about it...
Ross really did a good job, I hope to see them all do more.
"It's a piece of art... that was the brief right?"
I hope he tries an sell it on the yogstore
Ross best artist, Lewis has to be accepted into art school for the safety of the world, trott is trott and smith is our special boi
The fact that Trott actually did art and Lewis does do art is crazy, you can see the individual styles they do. Ross’ was by far the best, Smith...well yeah smith is...
Trott’s medium of choice is MSPaint. He’s out of his element here. I do love this moment. A good style for Hatfilms in this one.
Hello my dead name, I agree with you this have come to the conclusion that you are past me. Thus I’m here to deliver the message “lol your going to be life’s jizz mop”
@@tiresomecube34rip73 Aren't we all?
I love how no one is talking about your reference to the führer there
Wow, Ross might actually have some talent
He really does! ...Smith however.
Trott too! They are both creatives that did Media at Uni so its not a huge surprise but always lovely to see their artwork.
@@jackrichards2 I think we all expected it from Trott though, but it also wasn't an example of his best work. Ross really outdid himself though.
I've always said this, and I still believe it - even if Ross doesn't believe it himself - but Ross is the most creatively talented member of Hat Films.
Painter, producer, comedian, editor, director, actor, Mick Blue impersonator
If he puts in some genuine effort and training, yes. Trott is in my opinion better but he puts more effort in his works/art and I believe it is actually the best trott can do.
Ross would be able to make something better.
@@lewis6590 I think you got that backwards. Mick Blue impersonates Ross.
What’s great about hat films is I think as a collective fan base, they’d all be viewed as the best
If Hat Films only played with paint in a warehouse from now on, I’d be okay with that.
Trott's ancient ancestor was actually called Tr-ogg
Sure it wasnt Trogdor?
this "4 guys in a garage" format is really good! more please :>
The fact that Craig didn't narrate the whole things as a stone bust is criminal.
In the image I've got in my head he suits the roll so well.
This is genius. Definitely needs to happen for the next one!
Needs to happen 🙌
Well lads, the Facebook group quoted this comment, so I guess statue Craig is confirmed
It was really nice hearing about how much Lewis enjoyed filming these on the triforce podcast
Do you have a link to that?
@@pieisdeath30 sorry I don't, however I do know it's the one that came out a few days before Smith's birthday video (I usually listen in bulk so they blend together a bit?
@@pieisdeath30 I'm gonna guess it's triforce #178.
I like how he described it as if they were kids and hat films are the cool naughty boys your mom doesn’t want you to hang around with
@@BONESTORM2501 ajsjs I literally finished that bit of the podcast today lol
Ross’s painting actually looks great. I love the blending.

Lewis' is actually recognisably him! With no context if I just saw that picture I'd say it was a picture of Lewis, nose and all
It doesn't resemble him as much as it resembles his triforce caricature. Maybe that was another brindley original?
"a self-portrait of ourselves" as opposed to painting self-portraits of other people

It's deja-vu all over again
The whole story about smiths painting, the mission Lewis had with modelling paste, green and blue, Ross being genuinely good, the dynamic colours of Trott. All fantastic paintings and great banter
He said the line!
Ross did an amazing job with the colours he had and only 30 minutes. i can see that being in an art gallery
I love how smif always is the one to crack lewis up. Even literally right to the last frame.
"It's not a million miles away from being alright actually" wow great compliment Smiffy 😂
I want to see more.
Ross by a wide margin. Good job, lad.
I can actually imagine all 4 of those being in a real art gallery, especially Ross’ that was amazing! These recent videos have been really enjoyable :)
“It’s not a million miles away from being alright”
how nice of him (14:00)
Considering his limited colors, Ross did a really nice job. This coming from someone who can't paint to save their life.
"The colors actually mixed really well" says the guy who got the three primary colors.
I'm glad someone said it lol
I wanna see more! I’ve loved all of Ross’ paintings so far, his style has always been very interesting and textured
Your hair looks great, Trott
Lucious would be proud
*Three artist dads help their son smith gain confidence in his paintings
That last one from Ross was crazy good. His style is definitely "Use as much color as possible and make it happen" - which is respectable.
the absolute GALL of Ross to get the three primary colors and then be shocked when they work together well LMAO! loved this a lot, I genuinely liked all the paintings! :^D
LMAO Lewis looking Smith up and down when they're looking at Ross' painting killed me
This is the kind of high quality top tier content I subscribed for!
I feel like Lewis really captured his anger in his portrait
Lewis' looks exactly like his triforce character
I like that Smith used orange and dark red for his sun, when one of the few colors he had was yellow.
We need to see more of this! I've been loving the new stuff both here and on Hat Gaming.

Lewis' painting is like when they have an artist trip on LSD and paint a self portrait every hour. His is at like the 3-4 hour mark.
Lewis is permanently on LSD it feels.
The best part of the video was Trott happily presenting the colours everyone got hahahah
Love seeing a hat films irl video and these art videos are hitting a spot I didn’t realise I liked so much, eager for more
Loving these videos. Great to see the warehouse getting some use!

i'm actually touched by how attentive lewis was to ross' painting...
As someone with an Art History degree, this makes me feel fulfilled ...and definitely not like I wasted 4 years of my life.

I never thought hat films would end up being an art channel
I love these creative challenge videos. I think Lewis is a great addition too, such a good sport to the craziness. Keep it up guys!
I like this style of the painting thing and the boss Ross timed ones. Great stuff
I absolutely love these art videos by the boiks. Don't care too much for the time constraints but they seem to get it done.
Loving the new Hat Films Unit content! more more more
I love Smith having obvious fun with this, they should do more.

Also Lewis' look to camera at 17:26 absolutely killed me!
Ross nailed it, really connecting with his inner artist congratulations great job
The chemistry of these four is really enjoyable to watch

I hope this becomes a Hat Films series.. each week a new Yog or A high Roller and new challenge..total Hat film chaos
more! love this. They all had some really good points.
I'm so down for these art videos with Lewis
I'd genuinely watch a few more videos of this premise, maybe a landscape, or another paint along but with only 3 colours
keen for more. very much liked both Ross' and Smith's art
Ross's painting was so good!
