Hat Films just absolutely abolishes the chains tying down the Lewster's mind, letting it sprawl out before us in a vast explosion of concepts so loosely tied to the mortal realm one might even ponder whether he's in some sort of ethereal mid-realm where the astral plane bombards him with its unhinged ideology and he allows it to flood into our universe with a smile and I'm here for it.
I love how unabashedly crazy Lewis allows himself to be with Hat Films. Seems like he has to try to wrangle in others for going too far on other channels but can let loose with these guys.
At 21:20 I was like okay, this must be the end if they are painting Lewis... wtf 8 more minutes? The fumes must have been thick in that room because they were really wacked.
This was an absolute joy to watch live, and the highlights are just as good! Crazy painting Lewis is my favorite XD Also, I would like Smith to know that his yellow swirl piece was looking great, even before it was finalized by being mixed with the other painting! I know how it feels to not be able to have a piece come out exactly how you wanted it, it absolutely sucks, but in the end art is more about enjoying the process of whatever it is you create than it is about how good it turns out! He probably already knows that, but ya know, it always helps me to be reminded of that when I'm displeased with my own work, so maybe it'll help him :)
I gotta say? Smith's piece is actually my favorite of the bunch, tied with Clown Jizz. It would have been the top one, if they hadn't let the paint drip, after the smoosh. That being said, the bottom shape really really reminds me of a tiger, and I love that about it.
The Hat Films Art & Music Streams are the highlight of the Jingle Jam for me. The boiks truly are men of high culture and they're also very nice for letting Lewis live in their warehouse.
They're all pretty good at art ngl. They're all not being afraid to fill the space and aren't being unrealistic about skills or perfectionism. Amazing.

Honestly, watching Smiff just fucking put himself down constantly, about his art, was sad. Especially if he's being serious about not having "a mind's eye". I find it very hard to visualize things, as well, which can be especially frustrating, because I'm a prop designer. The only way I have to really do my work is to change it from being an artistic project, and turn it into a math problem. Everything engineered, nothing sculpted.
