I use Stryd for a couple years now. Initially i bought it to have almost instant pace even when it was very cloudy, tree's passing though tunnels etc. At some point stryd had established my Critial Power and that will change overtime since its based on the data from the past 90 days. When my CP increased my running zones changed as well, no more need to remember certain paces. And currently i use it with a stryd training plan for the marathon, created by Steve Palladino.

Omg at the middle of the vid you were running… so smooth ! I wished to be that efficient. For now it’s not effortless at all 😅! All the best 😊

Just got one of these, thanks for the video. As a triathlete I'm used to working to power on the bike, hoping it translates to running as well.

I run exclusively by power, then look at pace and HR post run. I like that the instant feedback rather than the lagging you get with HR

Do you find any difference in power between your race shoes vs training shoes to hold certain paces?

Hi! Great video. I just bought my Stryd and I am about to do my first run with it. I've been struggling with the data field setup on my Garmin. Maybe you can help? Do you only use (instant) power, or do you have any other fields on your watch? The reason I'm asking is that I would like to get a 3-second average like I use on my cycling power meter, and I would also like to get a lap power field.
I have downloaded Stryd Power Zones.

Great video and to add to this my question is, are you familiar with the Garmin hrm-pro chest strap? My understanding is it also measure running power. I have the hrm-pro and I also have the Garmin Enduro 2. Previous to the Enduro 2 I used my Fenix 6X Pro Solar in conjunction with my Styrd running pod. I haven't added it to the Enduro 2 and sure I could just don't know if the metrics are any different from the hrm-pro. Not running at all with an ankle injury but hoping to get back into it soon! From your videos you're a much more runner than I am. What watch do you use? When using Styrd I would change out the shoes on Strava or on my Garmin.

I don't believe the hrm-pro chest strap will measure power. As far as I know the only power meters for running are built into pods like Stryd and some running watches. I run with the Garmin 255

Looks like the pro plus measures power. Had no idea

Stryd measures power in a completely different way than straps and watches. It's literally comparing apples with oranges, allthough the metric Watts is the same.

@@RunningWithDustyso do the latest Garmin watches even without a HRM.

Saying that your going to use it just as a data point, is crazy its the smarting training tool out there, not only for easy runs, i would run by power/heartrate.
My best example is running 1ks at correct power and looking at yout heartrate data after is unbelievable, as in you dont over cook the 1st few reps trying to get your heartrate to catch up to your aim bpm.
    400w @ 1k x6
My heartrate at the end of every rep is rising by 1-2bpm for every rep with out looking hr during workout.
Stryd is just unbelievable. Only place it doesnt do well is cross country, saying that the wattage output is still in line with trending paces at that output but just because of the grounds and condition its doesnt line up with heartrate effort, they may have a calulator for that but you can't really calulate for ground being good 1st 2 laps and then being a mud bath the last 4.
Hope this helps someone and stick to the power great tool
Ps the cp will prob go down after time but definitely makes you run more efficiently i couldnt understand this after a few months then it still correlates with heartrate zones with out doing anything
