Thank you very much yet agian...Great interview..Its actually amazing how us fans knew so little of all the politics behind the scenes at the Boks at the time..Andre was an unfortunate player with a lot of outside interference in his career but I will always remember him fondly at both the Bulls and the Bokke...
Some awesome rugby yesterday..very proud of the Bokke but still think we only fired at 75%...This team can become scarily good..And well done to Los Pumas...wow..edge of the seat rugby in that last ten minutes..
Sir Kirwin should be happy there were no scrums for almost 60 minutes...

Glad you enjoyed it, Sakabula! It is amazing how little we knew about what was going on behind the scenes. But also understandable that a lot of it was kept hush-hush at the time. Great that there are some guys now who are comfortable telling us how they experienced things in those days.
Superb result yesterday and I agree, we did not fire on all cylinders. We could have put 50 on the board. Hopefully saving that kind of performances for our friends in the black jerseys!
      Go the Pumas!

@@frontrowrugby Can't wait to watch the Breakdown to see what "Sir" Kirwin has to say this week..I don't want to be rude but he should actually take off those bullet proof thick glasses and watch a game of Rugby for once

Haha, the problem with guys like that is that they are so set in their ways that they don't even seen the game evolving in front of their own eyes.

Hi André. In 2002 , Rudolph Strauli was the coach. You guys had a training camp at Pretoria Police College. You were a very nice guy always made time to talk to us. We had to do guard duties at your rooms. Was just a great opportunity to meet you and some of the other guys. Breyton was full of himself. You and Bolla Conradie stood out for me. Thank you.

I have good news to deliver. The Go Fund Me page that was set up to help Andre, managed to collect the target amount and a bit more!
Not sure whether or not SARU helped in any way.

One of the best centres, way better than a Am, Esterhuizen, De Allende, Joubert and Barry etc. Had horrible injury setbacks too.
I agree with his comments on the 1997 Springbok team, ironically it was similar to 1974 when we chopped and changed - recipe for disaster.
It wasn’t Odwa but Akona who went to the RWC in 2007, Akona was a winger though. Julies was the centre.

Yeah, a long time ago now but it's interesting how different guys remember things differently. Not sure if you've seen but a few of the 1995 guys have told the story of how they hid a snoek under Mark Andrews' pillow. Sure enough every one tells the story somewhat differently.

James Small to come up with "the move" in 1998? James wasn't even in the Springbok squad in 1998. Nick Mallett said Henry Honiball came up with the move that put Pieter Rossouw under the post went through Kronfeld to beat the All Blacks in Wellington.
