- Thousands of years ago, David said, ““Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” (Psalm 139:16) God knows every one of our days and holds them in his hand before we even live them.
Looking back at 2020, that might be a difficult truth to grasp. But it’s still true. The foundation for our hope lies in one place: the promises of God revealed fully to us in the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If God would give his only Son to pay for our sins, how will he not also give us every good thing? (Rom. 8:32) Even when those “good things” look like 2020, we can be confident God is using them for our eternal joy and his eternal glory. That is just the knowledge we need to give us faith and hope as we look forward to 2021.
This past year one of the Sovereign Grace songwriters, Dave Fournier, brought a set of lyrics to our songwriting retreat called, “All of Our Tomorrows,” eventually set to a beautiful tune by Ryan Foglesong. The song is a prayer that acknowledges and prays for God’s careful, wise, personal, and faithful involvement in the lives of those Christ has redeemed. It speaks to our need for guidance in the future, comfort in loss, and strength for all our days.
We recorded a simple video of the song this year and plan to record a full version next year. We pray God would use this song and the truth it proclaims as a means of faith, comfort, and hope for all of your tomorrows.

I cannot stop listening to and singing this beautiful song. Verse 3 brings me to tears because I lost my husband in December 4 years ago and winter is always a sad time for me but then there is the wonderful uplifting hope in the reminder that we are only pilgrims here and need to press on to win the prize. I’m so thankful that God does indeed finish everything that He begins and will take us to be with him one day. Thanks for this wonderful song.
I come back to this song so many times and I’m every season it encourages me again.

~My father passed away three years ago at the young age of 68 to kidney cancer. We played this song at his funeral, and it has been a balm to my heart in my grief. Thank you for your Christ exalting music. ❤
My father also passed three years ago, Christmas day from pancreatic cancer at the age of 67. Just think they are there together worshiping our Savior together! Music has been such a gift in times of both joy and sorrow.
Praise the Lord for his Sovereignty. This song comforted my grieving heart. I lost my dad and brother in a two week span. So much grief. However so much peace was present. The past is gone. Hands on the plow. We got to move forward. Our prize is ahead.

I needed this encouragement tonight as we're plunged into another strict lockdown in Scotland. My adult son with special needs has cried and cried today as his hopes of seeing a friend have again been dashed. He's usually so content but this has broken him and he's so depressed. I feel so helpless.
Debbie, I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. May God be your comfort, your strength, and your joy even in the midst of another lockdown. His love and grace are sufficient for every trial because Jesus has brought us near to the Father through his perfect life, substitutionary death, and victorious resurrection. “Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!” (Psalm 27:14, ESV)
I feel for you. Here in Israel we've entered into another strict lock down too. We hadn't properly been released from the second when we were hit with the third.
Our hearts cry out to the Lord to come for His bride and take us out of this evil world.
