How to import Airfoil coordinates to ANSYS Fluent Design Modeler

Hello my fellow engineers!
Today we will see how to import airfoil coordinates from Excel to ANSYS Fluent Design modeler or Spaceclaim too.
After importing, you can then extrude it to make a wing and do a structural or FSI analysis OR you can extrude it as a surface to carry out 2D steady or transient simulations to study lift and drag characteristics.
We will do that in my next video ;)
To import the coordinates into ANSYS, I have divided the procedure into 3 simple steps -

finally someone told the trick. equaling decimal places for X, Y, Z. Thanks a lot. The rest of the video contenders don't tell that and I always get an error, frustrating!!!

Hey I tried it but the coordinates are not visible after importing successfully. They are visible only when the points option in the tree is selected. What should I do?

thank you! When I tried it, up to 3 decimal places were created normally. However, more than 4 decimal places are not created due to a coordinate system error.

It says "invalid point selection. The curve would become self-intersecting." How do i fix this?

when i save form airfoil tools the exel, the coordinates x and y are in one column. how split these and get compatible to ansys? i can't copy and paste all cordinates... there is maybe a exel fucntion?

Hello, you can use Convert text to Columns utility in Excel to separate them and then make the ANSYS compatible file.

I couldn't import coordinates to Ansys. I am taking reading coordinates file error. How can I fix this problem? I did everything as you do without jumping.

Hey, trying saving the .txt file format in ANSI or UTF8 and then try importing.
Try both and then let me know the results

@@erenkartal8685 Merhaba eren, excel dilinde dolayı sayıları ayırmak için nokta mı virgül mü kullanılıyor ona bak. Bende sorun türkçe bilgisayarda ingilizce excel kullanımından dolayı sayıları ayırırken nokta kullanıyordu. Ansys virgül kullanıyordu. Ayrıma dikkat et.
