Would you recommend it for the average Clew rider?
No, too advanced. Skatebanana and Clews only.

Is the 2025 any better than the 2024 or should I just save and get the 2024
Like a man who can say 'stature and girth' in a board review.
Literally picked up a 24 Mercury last month, can't wait for the season🍁
Recently picked up some Union Force bindings to go with my 2023 Mercury, very excited to try them, especially after seeing them recommended here 👌🏻
Literally just bought the same set up. 😅
What's the biggest difference in character between Merc and Jones MT?
Flex, camber profile, sidecut, and over all ride.
What size would you recommend? I’m 5’9 140-145 size 10 boots. I’m thinking 155.
I'd go with that for all mountain use.
I have been riding the jones mountain twin 2019 model and the 2020 model, mainly riding groomers, occasionally hitting side hits, forest and some pow. Would you recommend this board to step up my progression?
That's a lateral move honestly. Probably want to go with something more directional like a Flagship, Ride Moderator, maybe a Rome Stalefish.
Thanks for the review! Rode the 2023/4 model (rental in Japan) and enjoyed it, so if this is a little better than that seems like a good buy.
2025 Mercury or last years 2024 Mega Merc for the same price? 🤔
Both.
sick
What size would you recommend for 6’0 205 10.5 intermediate / advanced rider who stays out of the park and gets close to 30 days in a season? 160W 🤔
60w minimum.
@@AngrySnowboarderThanks a lot, gonna slap a pair of union force bindings on as per recommendation. 🤘🏻
gettin me excited for hike parks and WROD.. my body is ready avran 😍😍
Are you prepared for the opening day Snow Juggalos?
Been looking at picking this up for a couple of years but can't decide on sizing and no chance of trying them out. US 10.5 and 175lbs. Coming from a 158 Captia DOA but thinking about a wide version... 156w, 158w? Any recommendations? Thanks!
All of those will work for you. More freestyle go smaller, more all mountain go bigger.
What size would you recommend for a rider at 6’1, 165lbs with size 9 boots? Intermediate all-mountain riding, no park riding, occasional powder runs. Thanks Angry!
55
Hi Angry, will you review 2025 Capita Navigator, would like to see your opinion about it. Which one is more fun to ride?
They’re two different boards with two different purposes.
As far are an all mountain board goes...how does this compare vs the 24 Evil twin +?
It's got set back, higher end base, better structure, 0 3D shaping, and less freestyle focused.
I hope you’re rocking a skullet under that beanie🤘🏼
does the 2025 version have any major tweaks over the 2023? worth updating?
or should i go for the mega merc?...
PS: i like to go fast!, need angrysnowboarder validation before i pull the trigger.
If you want to go fast, go with the Mega.
Hey angry, What would you recommend to go with my niseko pleasures for Japan this season? For exploring when the snow isn’t deep. I have a 152 dancehall, benchwarmer 157 or I’m thinking of getting a 25 mega Merc on sale here
Mega Merc.
Angry u think the flex is closer to Shadowban or Algorythm if u have been on that board? Thx
Shadowban.
What’s the difference between this and a mega mercury? Do you prefer this one over the mega?
Construction.
5’11” 190 lbs. size 10.5 boot. Would you recommend size 157 or 159?
Either
I have rode the korua otto but never mercury, is mercury stiffer than otto? And which one is more damp?
Depends on what year Otto.
I have a resort twin for park, would be a good ideia to have a mercury as a all mountain/ powder board? Thanks
No.
Would you say capita new bases are some of the best in the industry? Heard tribute speaking nothing but praise about them
They have a great tune to them.
I feel like the Mercury has gotten softer over the years. Would you say this iteration is closer to the earlier models without the twitchiness?
It's gotten softer for sure, it didn't feel twitchy like the last one I rode.
Shadowban vs Mercury? Can’t decide, any thoughts?
Shadowban is going to be damper and the Mercury is going to be more lively. Both are great options. -TC
Both.
I’ve tried the Outerspace Living and the DOA. Definitely prefer the DOA. OSL was a little bit easier to ride at slow speeds but it felt too loose at medium/higher speeds. Will I feel the same way with the Mercury because they have similar camber profiles?
No. It fkn rips in high speed. This board is not too fun going slow but neither is doa or outsiders. Capita has strange boards
No.
Such a great board. I have the 2021 model and the Rome Ravine Select from last year. Both are awesome boards, but I need a new one because, why not? Any idea of another great option that rounds up my quiver?

@@AngrySnowboarder I've noticed that I'm getting better at snowboarding stepping out of my comfort zone. Thanks for the tip!
I need a Salomon huck knife 2025 review pls
Why? Nothing has changed since last years except the graphic.

Dope, was waiting on this review, thanks! Have been thinking about an upgrade from my Yes Typo, this was one you recommended a while back, so good to hear its still a solid option!
Is your Typo busted? A lot of crossover with those boards. If it’s still in good condition and you’re not planning to sell it then would be better to add a different type of board than another of this style. Do as you like of course but two boards that compliment each other is nice to have.
@PacketOfCereal no the Typo is fine, I was thinking later on in the season I may upgrade to something else. My other board is a Zero, which I love, but I want something a little stiffer and more all-mountain freeride. The Merc can be both, but at this point I'm just keeping options open. Thanks for your perspective, though! I'm no expert, so I'll take all I can get, lol
@@jaredbryce7964 Have you looked at anything directional? Many all mountain Freeride boards are directional and come in different shapes. They’ll offer different benefits than the boards you have already so would complement well. All depends on what kind of riding you do and what kind of riding you’d like to do. Be honest with yourself about those things and it’ll help you find a good choice. There’s many allmtn freeride boards but have a look at the K2 Passport review and see how that sounds to you for a start.
Completely unrelated. With all the powshapes and volumeshifted boards around would you still recommend the Cool Bean if they made it today? Asking because I could get a 2022 Split Bean f0r 50-60% off. Being able to use it as a solid and splitboard would be great. Is the flex in anyway similar to a Korua Dart? Thanks a lot :)
That thing is not a good splitboard according to all my friends that bought one.
@@AngrySnowboarder do you know why? if it's because of the ascent: too wide for the tracks, too short so it's unstable and sketchy specifically for steep and icy ascents. Cause I can live with that or for what I am gonna use it for.
But if in pow and on groomers it doesn't ride like (or similar) to the solid version then it won't make sense for me.
Fuck if I know they start talking about uphill skiing and I zone the fuck out.
Hi Avran, thanks for your videos! I bought myself 23-24 season one, kinda regret after watching the reviews on the board, guess i should have bought resort twin, is Mercury that worse? And should i sell it get myself RT?
Who the fuck is Arvin?
@@AngrySnowboarder That bald guy I see every day at Copper mountain who rides the new 'Ride Skullet Pig'
@@AngrySnowboarderAvran. Sorry 😅
Need to know more about this Skullet Pig.
Capita killed it with their graphics this year... except for the Mega Death. :(
I am one that had a bad experience with the Mercury a few years back. It wasn't even that it was twitchy at low speeds (it was). But there were times where it felt as if there was a rubber band attached to the nose pulling in a different direction than I was turning. I may have gotten a defect though.
A theory From a much more experienced shop worker than myself equated a lot of that to the high level of structure that Capita puts in their base. At slower speeds the structure can “guide” your turns, he used to softly base grind them right out of the wrapper to soften the structure and didn’t have anyone come back. Then again, turning bigger cambered boards at slow speeds is always a little harder. On the other hand, I ride a lot of Capita boards and never base grind them till I need to and I’ve never had this “twitchy” problem at speed.
I had a similar experience with the super doa. I sold it immediately after riding a few times thinking it had a mind of its own. Mercury though have had several varieties and sizes never had that issue. Love the base sound and speed tho
@@henryviz I sold that Mercury and bought a BSOD which also has structure and never had similar issues with it.
@@garyscoop I’m leaning towards some sort of manufacturing defect. Almost seemed like something wrong with the torsional flex.
But but *I* need the MEGA merc ‘cause I make Kotsenburg look lame
If you make him look lame, you wouldn't be commenting here. Stop lying to yourself and everyone reading this comment.
Great review on a board that has been already well know!
Am I first?
Yes, yes u r 😈
No, no you're not. So this comment makes you look real dumb.
