- During my junket interview for 'Wicked Little Letters', I really wanted to quickly say thank you for a show that changed my life. If you've followed me on social media since 2022, you'll know how much Heartstopper has helped me and how much it has impacted soooo many people. I've loved celebrating and thanking everyone involved with it of course - but it was a joy to say hello and thank you to Olivia in person for her truly inspiring and important role, along with the power her scenes carry for the LGBTQ+ community.
This was a surreal moment and I'm so very grateful :)

He's saying what everyone wants to say to her. Such an important character.
I wish I had more. time to say more about it but I just about managed this at the end haha.
@@steppingthroughfilm You were also clearly still trying to be professional, it’s completely understandable! Plus, she could clearly sense how much the show meant to you :)
That’s so beautiful. It sounds like the second time an interviewer brought up Heartstopper during the Wicked Little Letters press. Also when Joe Locke and Kit Connor told Olivia at the Baftas in 2022 about the tweet from a person coming out by using her scene with Kit, she started crying then, too.
I thought that too! As Jessie says 'that's the second...' but I haven't seen when that might have been yet sadly?
If someone starts crying in front of Olivia, she immediately starts crying too. Such a nice and empathetic soul.
Bless her.
Just when I couldn’t love this woman more than I already do ❤
Same! I'm still in awe haha
Really ? I can’t stand the woman. Another bloody luvvie.
@@DorisDay-lw4xs boo hoo
@@DorisDay-lw4xswhat a shame, especially as she speaks so highly of you. 💩
You realise what you just said was, you didn't love her as much as you thought you did...
Both down to earth and beautiful human beings, those two. Who can say Olivia Colman hug them? A moment you won't ever forget.
I will never forget it, that's very true!
I immediately started choking up when he talked about how her role impacted many people and now tears are flowing...
Aww, honestly I am still so emotional about it all!
Same 😭♥️🌈
Olivia Coleman is a national treasure. I am glad she gets recognition overseas too but there will always be something iconically British about her behavior on and off the screen.
We must protect Olivia Colman at all costs. What a talented, empathetic, endearing, beautiful woman
I'm not crying, you're crying...😭
Yes, yes I am :')
We're crying 😢 😭
That's why I love her. We need more allies like her.
Truly a beautiful moment, the hug, the emotion. Her portrayal of a loving, caring mother supporting her child is one of the most wonderful things I have ever seen on screen. For so many it represented the way we wish our families could have been. For young people it shows how parents can be. An admirable message to young people growing up feeling like they are the "only ones" who feel like they do. It's an important message and she should be praised for playing it so well.
And that is why Olivia is the greatest actress in the world rn
Olivia Coleman is just a national treasure!!! Such a lovely human being
Truly! So lovely
I met Olivia long before she was famous, and she is the most sincere and kind and motherly person I have ever met. She truly deserves every bit of success she has. I was an intern on that project and she treated me like an equal.
I feel like people don't ask her about heartstopper enough, and I really wish they would ❤
I hope they do, I'm sure they do :)
absolutely love olivia she’s so sweet bless you lot x
The fact all 3 of the people in front of the camera stopped just being professional and just defaulted to being good humans got me. Virtual hugs for everyone.
Really nice and good of you to say this to her. I have the feeling she was not totally aware what important scene that was, when Nick came out to her. Bless you for thanking her (on behalf of so many of us) .
Olivia Colman seems like such an amazing human. As an actress, she is one in a million.
This is what acting should be about. Moving, delighting, celebrating, laughing. All the qualities these two actresses possess. The film LWL is a scream see it if you can.
Love her dearly. And bless him, that show has helped so many people, including me.
She's amazing!! And yes oh gosh I just love Heartstopper so much
Thank you for letting her know!
It was an honour :')
Shes so mother ❤😢
I'm so happy she took that role in Heartstoppers. I know other actresses could've done it but something about the human element she brings to all her characters, how personable she is, how genuinely sincere she comes across, she took a role that isn't on camera in that show for very long and left lasting memories with the viewers.
Olivia is a national treasure
Her character is the mom we all deserve.
I love her. She's amazing. Really good actress❤❤❤❤
She's so amazing, both as an actor and person ❤
Her going to him like a mama hen with wings out to gather the chicks is adorable
She’s such a genuinely wonderful woman!
That's the sweetest thing I've seen in a while ! ❤️🌈
I will always remember it now :)
I LOVE Olivia Coleman!!!
WELCOME TO THE OLIVIA COLMAN FAN CLUB!!
She seems so sweet ❤
If I ever meet Olivia, I’m bring up Rev. with Tom Hollander. Fantastic sitcom.
She is so sweet and nice. She really suited to the role of Nick's mother. No doubt about it.
So sweet 😍
it was sooooo lovely
I love her so damn much ❤
Ah bless. That’s so sweet
She is a lovely woman and such a star - just goes to prove you can be both.
I’ve heard Olivia speaking about how easily she cries. Since then, I’ve wanted to see how easily that happens 🤣🤣🤣
If you haven't seen it yet, there's an outtake from Heartstopper where she cries because one of her costars is crying in a scene.
this was so sweet, i need this video injected into my veins haha, how lovely :,,,,,,) i love this woman so much
AWE DID SHE GIVE U A KISS ON THE CHEEK TOO?!😭❤️
I keep coming back to this video when I feel down.
Awww ❤
Just discovered your videos and have followed you on X. Love your content already, looking forward to going through it all. Keep up the good work! 😊

We don’t deserve Olivia Colman 😢❤
A national treasure :)
Awwwwwweee this is sooo wholesome❤❤❤❤
I feel the same!!
much love :)
I love this
I LOVE THAT WOMAN
Awwwwww, honey! 🥹
:')
This is proof, once again, that representation matters.
Yes!
Que bello ❤
Fabulous 🎉
I want Olivia Colman to hug me. And I'm old enough to be her father.
"i wanna turn off the camera's and have a little cry" if that aint a true empath at its finest
I think I have something in my eye…
Jessie Buckley is so attractive
😢❤🏳️🌈
Did she write it?
Everybody seems so obsessed with Heartstopper now, but Beautiful People, where Olivia played funny, loving and drunken mom of gay teenager waaaaaay better. Sad nobody knows about that outstanding 2008 TV show
It would appear this was Heartstopper rejection backlash limitation, all pre-considered 😢
Must have ran out of MDMA that day eh?
you people seriously need to socialize more and possibly get a psychiatrist if a random tv-show "changes your life".... never met a person like this and you hear it at literally half the fucking interviews.
🤮🤮🤮
It's just a kids' show. Very shallow and insignificant.
Different stories reach different people in their own ways. This show. changed my life in a beautiful way :)
@@steppingthroughfilm you need to watch more shows dude.
Can you name a more adult show that handles queer issues better? And mental health issues? Specifically eating disorders?
You may think you're above it and whatever, I can't change your mind on that. But Heartstopper helps a lot of kids, its target audience, and that is far from insignificant.
@@bookswithike3256 yes, I can name a lot of shows: Queer as Folks, The L Word, It's a Sin, I May Destroy You, Looking, Transparent, Pose and the most important LGBTQ+ piece of media in history, the Putlizer Prize, Emmy and Tony-winning Angels in America. These shows tackle serious issues and they are phenomenal.
We also have comedies with lighthearted stories and great queers chracters like Hacks, Dickinson, and Gentleman Jack.
There are a lot of shows about eating disorders, but I don't recommend watching fictional shows if you want to learn about this subject. Especially because given the time they have in these shows, they always solve the problem too quickly and most of the time without a professionals help. We have great documentaries about this. They are better suited for this.
I recommend shows about body positivity. They are better in this scenario. Shows and films like Little Miss Sunshine, Orange is the New Black, Shrill, Dumplin, My Mad Fat Diary, Glow, Hairspray, and many others.
Heartstopper isn't innovative or groundbreaking is a shallow show who has been done a thousand times before. There's no reason for an adult to say it changed their lives unless they decided on purpose to never watch a piece of LGBTQ+ media before
Holy beautiful ❤❤❤
I knew she was Awesome but this
This is beyond amazing
And the girl going "aaaw I've got to watch this!" what do you mean you haven't watched it?? 😅
Ma’m that is Jessie Buckley
No. It's a kids' show. She is an adult woman. Lol. I bet Olivia has never watched it either.
@@kassiogomes8498 wow you’ve really gone out of your way to find this clip to comment this lmaoooooo
@@robertoyeah nope. It was recommended to me. I watch a lot of celebrities' interviews.
@@kassiogomes8498it’s not a kid’s show
Did he get a kiss 2
Thank you so so much for this I'm so incredibly glad you mentioned this to her and let her know how monumental it was for us🥲❤❤❤
