With exams, a school trip to Paris and prom on the horizon, Nick, Charlie and the gang must navigate the next stages of life, love and friendship.
Kit's acting in this scene was amazing. I liked it how he delivered those lines. His reaction when Stepane said "as much as I can" :(
Yes! I really felt his true emotions in this scene. ❤❤
Exactly
Isn't there actually jobs that can make someone's so so busy to visit his family?
@@I-will-succeedThere are, but I think during the Paris trip Stephane mentioned he had a wife, so probably he had a choice, he just didn't
I love how Sarah both stands up for Nick against David and then stands up for David against their dad.
“David you’re being an arse…”
“Yeah you’re being an arse…”
“How can YOU call him that?!”
That's a true mom. Olivia NAILED it on the head as usual
Love how Julio tells Charlie to go check on Nick. It shows you how a supportive parent should act in this kind of situation.
Yes!!🥰🥰 he's less harsh than the mama. I noticed he stopped earlier on in one of the episodes when Julio called his name when he was going up the stairs. He feels safer with Dad than Mom. 🥰
I also noticed his glare towards David too! Such an underrated character ❤
I think he told Charlie to go so the argument David and his parents had won't be infront of younger ones..
anybody noticed how Char's dad little nod for Char check on Nick after he left? he's such a supportive father
I never clocked that before now, it was so subtle, and such a wonderfully supportive thing.
2:58/2:59 - yes, that was a special moment because it seems like his father really cares yet Charlie's mother always "wears the pants" so to speak, and so the lovely father can "never get a word in"....
I noticed it perhaps on my second watch (out of like... 20 re-watches hahah). I can't wait for October 3rd of this year. I hope the whole season is released, and *not* just one episode per week!!
tori’s face during the whole meal is hilarious
Tori is the best sister! I was proud of Nick in that scene! ❤
I kinda wish Tori stabbed him in the leg instead of grabbing his arm. But that’s me personally lol
@@ScootsFromNewCastle Ngl Me too
@@ScootsFromNewCastlelol I love you 🤣🤣🤣
@@ScootsFromNewCastlesame girl same.
Yeah she could tell David was up to no good
nicks speech to his dad really hit me since i have a similar relationship with my mum, its so well written and alice is rlly a genius
Just noticed the little nod Charlie’s father gives him before he goes outside with Nick.
Me too! I can tell the dad's more easier on Charlie than his mom.
Everyone nails it in this scene.
Nick, I mean flawless
The care and concern in Charlie
The protectiveness and unamused attitude towards David is brilliant from Tori
Charlie's parents react perfectly for the situation, including his dad giving a small nod to encourage charlie to go check on nick
Stephane is shocked, a bit rude and displeased with what Nick has to say
David is the perfect antagonist and his expression when nick turns to him is brilliant
And Sarah's reactions to things like "rugby is a very attractive sport to woman" and "I like who I am and I like my life" are flawless and then her defending her children feels so right
Beautiful scene all around
Yes!! Bravo to the whole cast! To everybody working on and in the show!!👏👏🥰🥰
Some people aren’t bad people, just bad parents. Sometimes just absent parents. Thank you Alice for this very raw scene that hits so close to home and good for Nick to have a supportive loving understanding mother and a wonderful understanding boyfriend Charlie.
Nick was so brave and honesty.I think kit really felt that lines. Hes so talented actor
1:24 Tori's death stare is everything. I was waiting for her to stab him in the hand or thigh with her fork.
If this was any other show she totally would’ve 😂
I read "death" without "stare" and I almost lost my shit 😂
Goes to show how real this story is and how important. Some people look to have wonderful amazing lives filled with success and joy. We see how that image is smashed when we realize Nick's dad is absent and uncaring. His brother is a cruel and self centered jerk. Yet, Nick is a decent, caring, sweet young man who just wants the love and attention from a parent. A valuable lesson. And of course Charlie is there to support and console him in a dark moment. So absolutely wonderful a series.
I feel a tiny bit sorry for David I think he suffered more due to the separation and that Nick & their mum were closer
@@JacintasChromebook Teasing your brother is one thing. Mocking him cruelly in front of his boyfriend and the "turning him gay" comment made him a homophobic scum.
It is a different production, it tells about real life, I congratulate those who think of this.
The hug at the end really melt my heart ❤️ ♥️ 💜
the "eye roll" Olivia Colman gave was priceless :)
Both sets of parents and Tori are such a good support for Nick and Charlie. That’s why these two are thriving at being their authentic selves.
@astawesth-kristensen972 i haven't seen season 2 fully so I might not be able to judge well here but I honestly don't see why it has anything to do with their sexuality that they banned nick and charlie from seeing each other. Sure it's quite harsh but their reasoning was school not them both being boys. And as far as I remember I think charlies mom still kinda mistrusts Nick bc he's this popular jock at school, and it probably was kids like that who bullied charlie when he was outed. I just think they're a bit overprotective of charlie
@astawesth-kristensen972How is it homo/biphobic? The parents' decision to separate them temporarily was valid, while harsh, valid. Charlie has to spend more time on his studies and not pushing them aside to hang around with Nick all the time. I'm saying this as a queer male.
Kit Connor is an amazing actor, this scene was GREAT!!!! One of my favorites!!! ❤
It’s so interesting when you think of how Nick came out to his mum. The worry was there and he took his time telling her because of the relationship they have. With his dad it was now you know so you can not be in touch for however long again.
Tori’s face throughout this scene is hilarious and very in tune with what is going on. You can tell immediately that she doesn’t like David when she rolls her eyes as he is talking about his dad’s work. Then when he pipes up about how Nick met Charlie - first she glares at David, then shoots a concerned look towards Charlie and Nick. I said last season that Jenny Walser is an amazing eye actress - just perfect casting.
I have a feeling that Tori & David will have a enemies to lovers storyline on S3
@@UltimaFantasy highly doubt it. At least through volume 5 David is still a turd. Plus they are introducing Tori’s somewhat love interest in Michael in season 3. Alice is staying fairly close to the books.
@@jcs1025 oh snap, I forget they’re from the comics! I gotta start reading them!
I always like how Charlie’s dad gave him the head nod to go after Nick. And Olivia killed this role.
I honestly loved this scene so much! Then on top of that. Tori had me dieing of laughter. Like mess with my brother and his boyfriend and find out
This is my favourite scene from the show I LOVE IT SO MUCH, THE ACTING AND EVERYTHING-
Nick is such a sweetheart but his brother is such a jerk. Considering how kind their mother is as well how did the brother become like this. Especially when you come from a loving accepting family (Except for the Dad who despite being very polite is clearly neglectful).
Your answer is right there, he probably had the dad around a bit more than Nick and then it would have been extra painful when he left/stopped seeing David as much. Probably really messed him up, when his dad messes up his uni in this episode, he looks really sad.
Also it's no excuse but some people can just be selfish idiots in their late teens/early 20s
I got the feeling that having an absent father caused David to feel he was the boss of the family. His mother being the kind warm heart she is probably never stood up to David much, and so David built up an arrogance around him. From what I have read, David does change his attitude, and becomes accepting of his brother's sexuality, but he still retains that arrogance.
Charlie looks so worried for nick in the scene! Tori is so amazing in this scene!! AMAZING ACTORS HERE!
I love Charlie sister she dead ass put the fear in God to anyone who goes after her brother
Kit's acting was so good here!
i love tori's kill mode hahaha 🤣 best sister ever
I love how after his scene and everything he has just been through he says sorry to his mom. Hes such a thoughtful person and a great son ❤
Despite all of the very bad father thing Nick is lucky to have a lovely accepting and supportive mother in the book before he left he invites Charlie and Nick to spend time toghether i’d like to see it i watched this scene so many time just to observe the faces of each of them such a good acting and when i think Paris Lon don is 2h ours by euro star an he has no time to visit his sons more than 2 times a year it make me so angry
Tori is the best is this whole section. Specially when she kicks David's phone down the stairs for talking shit about Charlie to his mate 😂
2:33 Proud mama moment❤️
I like Sarah's face when he says it's very attractive sport to woman
Janes actress has amazing facial acting. The expressions from everyone really bring this all together for me
Charlie's bullies (Mostly Harry's crew) & Ben are lucky that they never have to deal with Tori because for all that we know Tori would go after them & scare them to death or even worse dig their graves. So if Tori were to hunt her brother's bullies down one by one, they all BETTER SLEEP WITH ONE EYE OPEN.
When the students were mostly talking about Charlie's hickey and were guessing who gave it to him on the Paris trip. I'm pretty sure if Tori was there, she would gave them a message to LEAVE HER BROTHER ALONE AND STOP MAKING ASSUMPTIONS and I bet Tori would make them all be silence by giving them a death stare like when she gave David one when he was trying to out Charlie's relationship with Nick.
Have you read Solitaire?
It's probably why she can't be in the series too much with Charlie, she would literally end a lot of their problems against Ben, Harry, other homophobes across the school.
She already scared David to death and isn't afraid to draw blood with her nails, that was a warning shot, next time he will probably get humiliated and/or a broken limb.
Just look at what Wednesday Addams would do for her brother, if Tori can do what she can do, then it's probably a reason why she has limited screen time LOL.
I never saw the eyes echange between Charlie and his dad at 2:58, so adorable !
Everyone nails it in this scene.

What's interesting is how this scene shows how both Nick and David found ways to cope with neglect and lack of interest from their father. Nick became a people pleaser, never rocked a boat, was a crowd follower before meeting Charlie. He was hoping that by being easy going and following the rules, he will gain the love from his father. That's why he says "he doesn't care anymore", he realised that no matter how much of a good son he is, the father will never care about him the way he should, so it doesn't matter if he finds out that he is bi. Meanwhile David became an immature bully who tries hard to be something he thinks that the dad likes, so he falls into the trap of toxic masculinity. He bullies Nick to get attention from the father, but he fails in that and the dad shows his disappointment in him which is ironic because David became this way because of him. That's why the mother calls out the father too.
This scene shows how Nick basically outgrew his need for validation from the emotionally absent father while David is still stuck in his premature years in which all he wanted was some attention from his dad.
Everyone was great in this🙏🔥
I loved when Charlie's father motioned for Charlie to go after Nick, understanding and loving parents.
Absolutely amazing scene love it one of my fav
Well, I'm gonna say hard stoppers hit it right in my book. I wish there was more episode instead of 8 episodes. This show leads you wanting more. Can't wait for season 3 and please. Netflix bring them back for a season 4.
😂😂love you Nick for standing up. Charlie would be so proud.
❤From Australia 🇦🇺
Olivia Coleman is such an amazing woman
Charlie's parents knew to send him out to help, the hug helped! Together we win! The writers did an amazing job, "I don't care" are very powerful words, short and sweet, but to the point. I used almost the same words to my family who kicked me out at age 12! Later in life mom was broke and owed the IRS hundreds of thousands of dollars and living on about $1.300 a month. My "loving and caring" mother wanted me to support her hateful self. I said "NO!" and moved her to the door. Happy, safe, and in a loving relationship with my chosen family, yep, she died alone in a cheap studio apartment, didn't claim the body.Mazel
You are been so strong and i think not many 🌈 people have that inside them self😞❤️💙👍🤗!!! Sorry for yours lost. 😔
I love seeing nick and Charlie together
Excellent performance!
This is why Charlie and his mom are the two most important things to Nick in his life.
The scene was intense. I felt like I was in the room, feeling awkward & want to be out from the table (but probably won't bcus would like to enjoy the drama hehe.
I love Tori in this scene 🥰
Charlie not eating again 💔
There were a lot of signs all throughout season two of this, and I remember seeing Charlie sitting at the dinner table in Paris, when his food was served to him, his face changed as if he looked like he was repulsed by seeing the food. I just wanted to put my arms around him and say it's okay, I understand. That's just how much you care about the characters on this show.
@@johnking5174 also in season one when he went into the art room and sat in the corner alone, just before mr ajayi walked in and asked if he was hiding again- he opened up his lunch box and was just staring at his sandwich, not really doing anything before mr ajayi spoke to him
@@jordanmorise also we see him never eat his cereal at breakfast or eat his food when with his friends. Even when he went with Nick to the cinema he refused popcorn
@@johnking5174 very true!! i actually really like that they included those little subtle nuances that indicated he might've had a problem with eating/ed like in the comic, instead of just springing it on the viewers and including it in some random episode showing/saying that he has an ed so then it's not too confusing- at least now when nick respectfully confronted him about it, we were able to think back and be like, "yeah, he's right"
@@johnking5174 Joe's Charlie portrayal this season was phenomenal. What a talent. He said so much with his face and eyes without saying too much actual words.
What I don't understand is how Nick's brother ended up being such an asshole, regarding what a nice mum and brother he has. I cannot imagine treating my brothers like that, I mean we do call each other names but in a loving, teasing way, never to actually hurt, and we support each other no matter what. How can you not love and protect your gentle, wonderful little brother but bully him instead? It just goes against nature
The way I physically start seething when I see David on screen. 🤭
Nick Nelson has the balls to come out his sexual orientation. Nick, since season 1, I've had admired your courage, faith, and hubby material for your Charlie Spring - no cap. If season 3 and season 4 of heartstopper showing us your marriage between you and Charlie Spring, don't worry I shall upon give you my blessing of your marriage 🎉 💐👬
This is probably the best scene in all 2 seasons of the show. It’s simply a series that made me addicted from the very first moment. Kit Connor's performance in this scene is amazing, and it makes you want to watch it over and over again. I still can’t get over how the great Olivia Colman is part of this cast. Respect to the production for managing to bring an actor of such caliber. I can’t wait for season 3!
0:16 does anyone else feel this is foreshadowing, like the side eye from Charlie’s dad and Charlie faux smile (like we see when he talks around his ED). Like hinting to possible family estrangement due to Charlie being gay (not blaming but those circumstances). Its a fabulous possible storyline to include in the series and very relatable to many.
Yes 👍You are been so true. ❤️💙
Damn Kit is going places! I have rewatched the show multiple times and I am always amazed by his facial acting. Simply brilliant!
I hope after this Charlie's mom will be more easy on him and Nick. I know she's trying to do what's best and trying to keep Charlie focused so he won't fail school, but she's been a bit harsh in my POV. Plus, Nick's a good one. 🥰🥰
Love charlies dad, he looked at charlie go look after him
I love this scene ♥️
I literally love Charlie’s sister she stands up for him always
Loved this scene soo mcuh!❤
1:04
Love her face just
"Ohhh no... Here we go." 😂
Can we all just agree that Tori's just the best
God I love Tori and her support for her brother
Don't. You. Dare. 😠
As a fellow older sister, I totally felt that.
It's the one thread throughout the two series. Nick has stood up for Charlie but Charlie has been such a huge support to Nick whilst he works out his life. Charlie never really pushes and always gives Nick a way out if he feels uncomfortable or doesn't want to do something. Despite his history, Charlie comes across as the stronger of the two.
I love Olivia Coleman ❤
Waiting for S3 ❤
One of the best scenes of season 2
I don’t care, it’s my life and I’m happy. The most powerful words
Amei Essa Cena Nick Arrasou ❤️
2:58/2:59 - That was a special moment because it seems like his father really cares yet Charlie's mother always "wears the pants" so to speak, and so the lovely father can "never get a word in"....
I noticed it perhaps on my second watch (out of like... 20 re-watches hahah). I can't wait for October 3rd of this year. I hope the whole season is released, and not just one episode per week!!
Whole season released. Fkn, YAAAAYYYY!!!!
The look on Nick's face when his father says he visits 'As much as I can.'
The look that Charlie gave to Nicks mom was like “bro didn’t really just say that 💀”
This scene is one of my favorites
When looking at Charlie's eating disorder, I do wonder how Charlie has not lost more weight from lack of eating. Wouldn't that be noticeable to his family and friends? However I did hear in the dialogue that it comes and goes, some maybe there are times when he does eat a proper amount.
It doesn't help that he's always kicking around in huge jumpers and hoodies, some of them borrowed/stolen from Nick. They made him look bigger than he actually is. He's tiny.
I think part ofCharlies problem is that he doesn’t like eating when others are around.
@@jackiepayne4149 I thought it was down to the bullying, and somehow not eating gives him control over his life. It's weird, but that is what eating disorders do, they are used to give someone who is vulnerable a chance to control something in their life.
I’m sure that’s how it started but he is now so self conscious of being told he is wrong in everything, he needs to be gentle led back into eating normally.
@@jackiepayne4149 The problem is, what is the thing that can change this? Nick is probably sitting there thinking what can he do to help? However Nick can't just try and force Charlie to eat. That wouldn't work. What else can Nick do apart from listening to Charlie, and being there for him. I can understand why he feels so helpless.
Nick’s dad didn’t need to ask the question that if they have girlfriends or not because that specifically assuming that they just like girls. Nick’s dad should of ask this question “Are you dating anyone?” To not be too specific.
By the way Tori has just won the award for the BEST PROTECTIVE SISTER award. And I love how she protects Charlie because when she threatened David it basically means that if you don’t leave her brother alone she will already make your funeral plans.
A lot of them all felt uncomfortable when David made comments about Nick & Charlie and when Nick’s dad ask the questions if they have girlfriends or not because they all know that Nick & Charlie are a couple
He's French. Maybe that's how they do it over there!
Most parents assume their kids are straight until proven otherwise
The bestttttt
This show makes me laugh and cry so badly.
I would die for these boys.
Love what Charlie's dad did on 2:58 because it shows he supports that Charlie should check up on her boyfriend 🖤
Amazing segment from beginning to the end. "Why doesn't he care" Charlie didn't eat very much. The burdens of loving another who life has beaten up. A true In Sickness and Health love story.
God, that dinner was so AWKWARD...
This was amazing. 🙂
This is like the antithesis of the “Harry, did you put your name in the goblet of fire?” joke. Both because it’s going from a loud confession in the comics to something much more quiet in the series, and because it’s not the kind of thing anyone’s making fun of. Kit Connor made a really interesting choice to change the scene this way, and it pays off greatly.
Anybody else wanna hug from Kit
I love how tori defended them
That was awesome
Charlie's parents were like 👀
Hello from Indonesia ❤
i am 29 and still feel exactly like charlie about my dad.
Tori is the sister any gay kid wishes to have. Love how she stands up to David for Nick and Charlie's sake.
Wow the Malay dub makes this series 110% better than the original you will feel butterflies and heartwarmed even in this tense scene!
i seriously doubt that
does anyone know what music plays in the background from the soundtrack? struggling to find it, and it’s so beautiful!! makes the scene even more perfect than it already is ❤️❤️🏳️🌈
I’m mostly sure it’s the one titled “I’m Bi Actually”
Oh i wish i am as brave as nick nelson.

Omg netflix ph posting hs content?! PERIOODDTTT
Love in 40 Days
I think that the whole plot of season 3 should be Tori beating the crap out of David using various household objects
