Buy an acoustic guitar, or a semi-acoustic guitar NOT ELECTRIC. Semi-acoustic guitar is litle costlier than acoustic because we can connect semi-acoustic guitars to amplifier and we need not hold a mike. Both semi acoustic and acoustic have same sound. I prefer you either by kadence, yamaha or fenders' guitar rest is your choice. I have kadence semi-acoustic. Cost me almost 100 dollars or RS 8000 but acoustic guitars are usually cheaper.
Start finger practicing. If you don't know what are frets and strings note etc, You need to go to classes. Then with finger songs. Increase difficulty to songs with slides, hammer ons and pull offs. In 3 months or so start chords (now your fingers are ready) then power chords, base, diminished etc.
If you know any other instrument, it helps. (me too -piano)
