About the video
In this video, I share 3 culture shocks you will experience when you move to Germany from abroad:
1) No Jaywalking - Crossing the street when you're not suppose to is very frowned upon and people will call you out on it!
2) The doctors in Germany love to recommend drinking tea to get better!
3) In Germany, teens can legally start drinking beer and wine at 16 years old! SO different from the USA and Canada!

What is the song in your video? Ich liebe die Musik
Bad very very bad
No
Best
After watch this is video
Session 1 arrived a Germany what's do it?
French song, ENglish subtitles, German content .. accompanied by Pantomime. ...It's challenging.
it's Multikulti
French language song but Belgian in origin.
In other words, German, English, French, Belgian and pantomine
And I am a Hungarian man who watched it
What is Pantamime

Last time someone yelled at me because I jaywalked was when I was a kid. The only time this is an offense is when you do it at (or close to) a red traffic light.
Yeah jaywalk is common in germany
The common rule is just to make sure no kids are nearby if you are gonna do it.
I live in Seattle and people here are so braindead that there can be no cars in sight and people are waiting for an electric light to tell them it's ok to cross the street. Then when you do, they look at you like you're Jesus walking on water.
Yes, you don't wanna do IT arround Kids or at Red Traffic Lights...a) You would set a Bad example (HOW DARE YOU!!!)
b) If you do it and the cops See you, you'll be fined sth. Like 100€. If you do it and get Hit by a car, your ensurance won't Cover the accident.... So yeah, IT might BE a bit expensive.... 😸
As an Italian citizen myself I was never challenged or yelled from anyone. Long Live our Sicilian Family ❤
Just did my passport to finally visit in February! : ) so excited!!
Congrats!
Congrats for getting your passport!!

Ich brauche einen Freund in Deutschland
How was it?
The night before I was born my dad was laying on the couch asleep. He was suddenly awakened by a song that was playing in a movie that was on the T.V. It was the same song that's playing in this clip, and that's how my parents came to name me Dominique.
bro that's hilarious💀
HELPP 😭😭
please i audibly laughed thats hilarious
LMAOO 😭😭
Some day look up how Ernest Hemmingway's granddaughter got the name Margaux.
16 year olds can buy beer, wine, and sparkling wine/champagne and only of the establishment chooses to allow it. Everyone can buy any alcohol at age 18 tho.
But you are allowed to drink it with 14 if your parents allow it (but nothing with a high alcohol percentage)
When you’re 13 if your parent allows it you can drink beer, wine, and cider. It’s not a great decision to do that though because it can become addictive.
It is 14 in public. And any age at home, but no sensible parent gives alcohol to a child.
@Lucas_LLL Um.. no. In most US-states you are not allowed to drink in public before you're 21. No matter what your parents think.
@Lucas_LLL yeah you‘re right
As a French I was more focused on the music that the content
I wasn't French, and even I was more focused on the music. I had to lower the volume 😅
what is this songg svp 🥲
That song was made by a Belgian nun in the 1960s when I remember it right.
And it was a scandal 😮
She was living in a lesbian relationship and the refrain ....nique, ....nique, ...nique (from the verb "niquer") in French is not exactly what "praising the Lord" means. 😂
@@zeisselgaertner3212true
her name is Dominique , nique nique' (fu*k, fu*k)
She hit the top selling discs during a few months.
@OwenDale-pc2bv Soeur Sourire - Dominique
I had a very strange dream tonight. You moved to Germany to hunt werewolves. And people got eaten every time you went on vacation. Also, your name was Priest Peraldez. xD I shouldn't eat that much before going to bed. 🤔 At least I took it as an opportunity to check out your channel again. ^^
What?! That’s wild! 🤯😂
Um you're wasting everyone's time...lol....no one really cares about your wet dreams...
@@TheStrataminor At least you did. :-P
We do actually have a rich history of Arznei Tees/ herbal tees and for what illment they r used for. It depends on what kind of Tee u need and some just taste good.
Not the song being in French😅💀
Good things about germany 🇩🇪 🙌

To clear up some things. In Germany you can drink at the age of 14. But you’re only allowed to drink light alcoholic beverages ans you’re not allowed to order it. At the age of 16 it’s the same rules just you can order it.
Does Germany have a problem with teenagers getting drunk?
@@DavidZ4-gg3dm surprisingly not really.
The more forbidden the fruit, the more they want it.
When I turned 16 I tried beer, vine ect at home and hated it.
No peer pressure to pretend to like it or to chug down the „forbidden cool“ stuff.
No one makes a big deal of it, so it’s not intriguing for long.
@@julchensweet2538 couldn’t have explained it better then the first sentence.
Absolutely Bullshit! In germany its allowed to drink beer at 16..Heavy alcohol up from 18....
These are common knowledge and also the first two aren’t really true:
Jaywalking is fine depending on the circumstances and doctors will simply not hand out opioids like candy, like they do in the US, you will still get medicine if the sickness won’t go away or be extremely irritating without them.
They have a lot of solar panels and wind turbines and renewables constitute a good portion of electric power generated. It is on the rise year after year...
It's actually been reducing because of our dumbass greedy borderline corrupt politicians (SPD and CDU)
And RELY on Russian gas ... Hypocrites .
Ich bin teilweise Deutscher, daher weiß ich einiges über Deutschland und kann etwas Deutsch

A drinking competition or game would thug for you to survive against a teenager in Germany 😜😁✌️
Definitely! 😂😂
@@DianaVerry
To be honest, meanwhile
it would be thug for me as well.
☺️🤭🤫
@@robertzander9723 Not sure about that. Nowadays the kids are less 'trinkfest' than back in the old days 😁 (good thing though 😊)
@@jorgbecker5028 i shall challenge you to a battle, Come to bavaria and I will Show you how trinkfest we are down here
Germans typically yell “Kindern Vorbild sein”

Alcrbiabaliiiiiiiiiiitoazalamtoazlaamashraui
My favorite was curfew. If the MPs stopped us I didn't speak English and if the German police stopped me I didn't speak German. Worked every time.😅
*You shouldn't be in Germany you don't match the looks*
I was in Germany as a tourist i went to a pharmacy they asked me my whole health history for a painkiller for my knee that has inflammation i stayed for 25 to answer all the questions in Belgium they say where exactly does it hurt she said its a inflammation i just asked for the cheapest one paid and went away 3 minutes did it last 😂
Too many little regulations. You can’t relax in Germany, you must stay vigilant throughout the day.
Buy alcohol at 16 but cant buy some good old medicinal plant aka weed at 16 😂
Perfectly fine
1- The rule is based on the danger of your own life
2- Why load everybody on useless medicine?
3- A bit more tricky because not everyone is looking like a grown adult at 16, but all right as long as they are not getting drunk
About the first one, yeah ofc is to protect the life…but common, I don’t need to be held by an old Frau abt it…she can mind her own business
so drinking alcohol at a young age is fine as long as you don't get drunk? lmao
The doctor one is really true. My brother lives in Germany with his family, his wife has headache and back problems but they won't allow her to take any medicine
what kind of medicine though? You'll probably get painkillers that dont get you easily addicted and a transfer to a specialized doc for your back, if it doesnt help.. In fact Ive been given benzos only once before an operation. I also was circumcised with just local anesthesia at the age of 14, no painkillers nothing.. they really dont want you to take the good stuff lol
🇮🇩👋🎉Indonesia Hadir Dan Menyapa Anda Nona Cantik.👋👋👋👋
Unrecht, du sollst nur direckt and normales sein... Ein arbeit zu finden, wenn man geld hat dann jederman freundlich ist....
I lived in Germany from 72 to 86. Yes we drank at 15 but I can count on two hands how many times I got drunk. Lol we went to dances and they would announce that anybody under 16 had to leave at 10. Anybody under 18 had to leave at midnight etc but you didn't have to leave if you behaved and didn't bring attention to yourself. I remember seeing my dad's secretary once and begging her not to tell on me though.😅
I remember waiting to cross the spree on unten der linden and Jay walking, people thought we were crazy
No some of Germany is 14 years old to drink
Yep boy do I NOT miss Germany
That sounds like a French song. It’s okay.
Children age of 16 can buy alcohol but this is okay there
But if a person cross road when there is nobody there will be a bad impact on children 😂😂
Yeah, welcome to Germany 😂
These are just not true but ok
Yep....Welcome to Germany, a awful Life there......NO SCENE KIDZ THERE 3:
I think in MY opinion that Netherlands is better
Ashraalarabiacumaabaliiiiiiiiiito
As a German this is so true -
Some people in Germany drinks alcohol as early as 13 years old 😅😆
My dad got drunk at 12 his first time hrs American 😂😂
Women
My dad is German and my mom is British I’m both but my dad told me this is what actually happens at Germany when he was in his 20’s
That’s true 😂😂 but i still life here 💔
As a three percent german I can confirm this is normal
So ist es nicht
Becareful about which french song you are using... This is speaking about sex. Dominique que nique nique ...
This is the fifth video about germany in a row???????????
Vijay kumar😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
If these are "shocks" for you...its just tiny cultural differences. But north American people call shocks everything that slightly differs from home. Boring and frankly ridiculous.
The last one is actually yes and no at the same time for example beer and vine at 14 if your parents allowed you and at sixteen and then you can drink but vodka and other alcohls that are very hard to drink because is too strong the alcohl like for example vodka and for this ONLY at 18 you can even at sixteen you can't even you ask your parents
Why German people doesn't use English. To all the German people, we go to German for better future and we respect your country, people, culture and language. And we really try hard to learn German. But sometimes you guys should Also help us. I heard that German people know English but doesn't help international people even if they are in emergency situation with German language
Fun fact: In the Medieval ages European children below ten commonly drank alcohol.
2. is only accurate for about 15% of doctors here in Germany nowadays SADLY.
Just rest and drink some tea" is VERY similar to us Indonesians, especially our families. When we catch a cold for example they don't go too far as to give us fancy drugs and all, they just tell us to rest, have some sweetened tea😂
As a german i have to make use of my right to bicker about everthing: The point with the legal drinking age at 16 isn't entirly true. You can buy beer and wine but nothing else. You are allowed to buy the stronger stuff with 18, that is the 'real' legal drinking age.
Actually, you can drink alcohol with 14 in germany, but only if your parents are with you😂
In wisconsin, if you're with you Guardian, you can legally drink at 15
Almanya'ya gelmem icin bana yardım edecek birisi var mı çalışmak için geleceğim
This came up when I searched for Wendy’s in Germany defuck
When you 14 you can drink alcohol with your parents permission
I think Germany have better culture than Canadian means American because Canada have not culture
I don't get culture shocks! I expect other countries to be different than mine. I am actually more surprised if they are not.
Without Germany, the world would still live in caves and wooden houses😂😂
I have never jaywalked myself but nobody has yelled at other people doing it. Maybe it's not around the areas I have been in.
Lee bhai india mai to alcohol hi ban hai 😂,
Hum logo ko to legal documents banane padte hai 🌚
As a foreigner in Germany I can confirm those things but buying alcohol with 16 years is illegal
USA
-I'm not feeling right doc
-K, get this oxycontin and take it twice a day
Ich bin für drei Jahre nach Deutschland gezogen und war so verwirrt, warum meine Schwester Alkohol trank
Aucune de ce type de surprise choquant n'existe au Maghreb...Attention toutefois aux vêtements.

“Bad example for the kids”
Also the kids: 💀🗿
No, legal age for alcohol is 18, you are allowed to buy non distilled alcoholic beverages at 16
And I always found these things so normal..-
The most infuriating thing is waiting months for a specialist appointment and then being told that the reason for your symptoms cannot be found, it may be stress though 💀
Love and peace to my german brothers and sisters....
Legend says the first Karen was born in Germany and now they have factories that pump out new Karens.
very beautiful and very nice
Same is españa
haha i was in germny like 15 years ago i remember crossing the street when there was no car while the germans stay and wait for the light to be green. so disciploned
I see the doctors are the same as in the Netherlands.
"Have you tried taking Tylenol?" is something you hear way too often when trying to set up an appointment.
Sounds like military healthcare. Motrin, water and changing my socks won't cure my blood poisoning doc (yes, I really became septic in the military)
You can drink with 14 do your research before you hate🙄
Is my area in Germany the only one where people constantly crosswalk? 😅
Tbat sng remindes me of American horror storty lol
Desshalb sind wir so ein großartiges Land ! Wem's nicht gefällt....
Only beer but no hard alcohol is allowed under 18.
Mm u rella pay for tvs in Germany ich lieva there that’s mu cuntra
This song gives me Asylum ptsd
Diana come to Italy! I Will teach you the real shock!
Oh, so THAT's why the healthcare is free.
Deutschland lieg übrig auf den Breitengraden wie dee Süden Kannadas. Ohne Golfstrom wäre es hier genauso kalt.
That's all not true
Russia it's 13 and Germany is 16 crazy
Ah yes
13 year old germans drinking
Because of videos like these I'm going to start studying 🇩🇪 Germany history as Germany seems like it's going to have a nice and peaceful history which will be great for someone like me how is trying to get in to countries history.
Love you Germany 🩷

Ja, das ist wahr. Ich meine, ich mag Tee im Allgemeinen, also ja!
Why do people lie about germany?
