    In my English course, it is written :
    E.g = September 11, 2001.
    →because the month comes before the day, you cannot use ordinal numbers. Even if the -th isn't written, an ordinal number is still said.
    So I would like to know why you wrote "-th" after the number, maybe is it to explain?
    Thank you very much !
    celia.

    Hi, we have always learnt that we read the date like this: Month + article THE + ordinal number... Is it correct, or and old way of saying the date? Thank you

    What format is used in official latter for example a refferal letter in hospital

    • @WorldwideSpeak
      @WorldwideSpeak  Месяц назад

      @@masihadoustdar you have a few options. You can use only numbers (ex 12/26/2024), or you can write out the month and use numbers for the day and year (December 26th, 2024). It is also possible drop the “th” (December 26, 2024). All of these options are correct.

      @WorldwideSpeak  4 года назад +1

      Hello! Because you have the day (the 23rd), you should use ON.

      If it's year or months on use IN.
      Like in May, in 2001.

    So every time someone says "the" that would be British, right? like in the song "Firework" by Katy Perry where she sings... the Fourth of July.

    Don't you have a way of not saying the name of the month, but just the number of it? For example "twelve twenty fifth" for Christmas

    • @WorldwideSpeak
      @WorldwideSpeak  3 года назад +1

      Hello- yes, you can say this, but it's not common. Most people will say (and be prepared to hear) the name of the month. :)

    This month-date-year is a mess but it's your mess.
    Most of the world uses date-month-year.
