We like the Eagle Creek Ranger XE Backpack 36L’s breathable harness system, though we wish its hip belt were a little more supportive considering its size.

Biggest pro’s: pack weight of 0.7kg/1.5lb’s plus airflow on harness - perfect for Asian and South Pacific countries with 7kg/15lb weight limits and super hot and humid and unreliable weather in the wet season. I’ve noticed your airline compliance chart is wrong with some airlines - this pack is compliant for Qantas, and Jetstar, for carry on, which you’ve said it’s not. Qantas allows a 115cm carry on bag, which is 56cm+36cm+23cm. This pack is 54cm+30cm+25cm which adds up to 109cm (give or take some decimal points) - well within its carry on compliance😊

Maybe the slip pocket is optimized for a bike helmet?

How the main compartment opens is ridiculous. Who wants all their packing cubes to fall out like that? They should have made a separate pocket at the top like at the bottom of the pack. The zipper didn’t have to go around the top section like it does.
