Missing that extra 1k rev limit... Old subi can't be beat. But I'm HIGHLY considering a 2014. I don't like the NEWER versions. And the older gens are way too overpriced or rebuilt which is fine. But I really just want a fun daily driver that I'll keep mostly stock
Ok, wow. Thanks man! I owned a suped up 2006 STI for a number of years. So clownishly suped up in fact, I wasn't sure that a stock'ish WRX could be nearly as fun?? I get the impression from your review that it is. I needed to know. I never minded the simple cabin of the STI, because real rally race cars are bare bones, and I was fulfilling a dream car fantasy driving around a tuned racer and pretending I was a rally driver. Didn't need gizmos or soft dash, ...but did wish my STI seats were leather. Ha! I just think leather seating is more tolerable on long drives. Selling my Charger SRT shortly because California gas prices have become a household strain, plus I miss driving a manual. I appreciate the review. I can take a look at WRX's again. I actually prefer the 2014 model appearance to the newest generation WRX, which look smaller to me?? Btw, you're very good at what you do. I like your candor, which isn't sarcastic, but pleasant, down to earth, and honest. Refreshing from other reviewers who like to break down the things they hate about cars, which often tumbles into mean-spiritedness. So good job! I'm gonna like and subscribe to see more of your reviews! 👍👍
@@Ballsack44 Not very. Bought at 100k miles now at 155k been through a clutch, and the engine has had to be rebuilt twice because of dealerships using the wrong gaskets. The hood has flown off, banjo bolts got clogged so new turbo with no codes warning of that, and the radiator's plastic endtanks busted so i have a Mishimoto now. Also rerouted the oil system through an air oil separator with a catch can because i was getting detonation events. Bought for 9k and spent another 12k to keep it running but I still love it dearly and it gives me thrills as a daily. I wouldn't buy it again as I'm in college and am now effectively bankrupt. But it does go BrrRrRrRr and Whooshhshshs which makes me smile every time.

my 2015 wrx got totaled, Time to go back to EJ. i love this generation
Does this have less rev hang and transmission lag than the 2015+? I owned a 16 but I couldn’t stand the drivetrain
@@tr1ckster726 i have a 2013 and the rev hang is annoying but idk if it’s better or worse than the 2015+ as i’ve never driven one
I saw this car for sale used and I’m thinking about buying. What do you think ?
yes, best car I've ever owned

UEL Headers, important point, why has all the Subaru wrx EL-Headers since 2015 ? It is possible to switch ?
On what the 14< or 15+>
