The difference that one year makes, Sweden, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and even France changing border laws, changing migration laws, asylum laws.
This comes late, but still, better late than never.

Nobody changed "border laws" (whatever that suppose to mean lol, you mean imigration laws?) Germany started doing border checks, but thats not a new law, they just started enforcing an already existing law, they can do border checks for a certain amount of time ( ithink 6 months max or something)

Yes the Netherlands got a nee government that likes to try illegal things which repeatedly get shot down by the courts. Therefore they have started to frustrate other things in the process so the situation gets worse so they can declare an emergency successfully bypassing democratic institutions.

The Dutch and other Europeans are not necessarily against immigration. The Dutch are not big fans of chaos and disorder. They are simply against the messy way the politicians did immigration and the poor results. For this reason, this will drive anti-immigration votes.

Calling on an emergency law for something like this? I think that's not well done at all, it's unethical to choose this as a way to bypass democracy. A lot of Dutch people will feel betrayed. It's not a smart thing to do.

@@lb9029 What is unethical is that the democratic will of the people has been ignored by the centre and the left for decades.
As a result the problems caused by mass uncontrolled immigration are now required emergency measures.
In case you have not opened your eyes these problems include.
      Increased strain on housing

Only 27% of the votes the far right PVV got, but it was enough to make a rightwing government because our dumb VVD worked with them. VVD is a little like the CDU. They are in the EU with Renew, so a rightwing party a little left to the CDU in the EU. The leftwing PVDA/GL is the second biggest party with 20% of the votes.
It's been a absolute mess in the coalition. Coalition partners yelling at each other, a guy who leading party member who cried 3 times in the coalition and now stepped back for health reasons. Tweets from the PVV against other coalition members. Racist slurs the had to apologize for to other members. He offended the whole country Jordan the VVD had to apologize for. This asylum crisis will be canceled by a judge. Everybody here knows that already. The Farmers party the BBB who were railing against climate rules, but now run the same agenda now resulting in the leading party member to say she quits if it doesn't change. Blaming the EU and the last government. They are in the EVP with Ursula in the EU. This coalition will never make it resulting in a left take over probably. Last year my country had a leftwing party winning was in 1997. It's been all rightwing here since 2001.

Bypassing all other parties people have voted for by calling on an emergency law, while many agree this is not an actual "crisis"? Yeah, it's a bad thing. Many people feel betrayed. Besides, it will hardly solve anything. We had a solution for this, but it was rejected over and over for unclear reasons, it was called the "spreidingswet". Right-wing populist parties just took advantage of a huge mismanagement of the asylum seeker influx, and did not even *want* a proper solution because that would mean they'd no longer be able to push their agenda.

Around 40.000 asylum seekers ... and the rest of the family is yet to follow ...
Asylum should be for our next door neighbors in case of war, a huge catastrophe or something similar but always temporarily. No asylum for those who travel half the world looking for fortune, they have a neighboring country as well where they can be save when there is the need to. There's no room for freeloaders.
And sometimes you just have to fight for a better future, as almost all European peoples did. Therefor the Ukrainian people have earned my respect and support where the Afghan people e.g. did not, they choose to surrender to the Taliban. According to my book they have to either accept the consequences of their choises or fight. Running away is no free pass to get asylum in the Netherlands. My ancestors and me myself too worked hard enough to improve life. We did so for our own families and the Dutch people, not for some uninvited, permanent staying cuckoo chicks.

Mostly these are houses which residents wait for 10-15 years for to be able to enter, and have to pay for especially with today's prices. It's not fair if (illegal) immigrants get such houses without waiting and for free. Same problem in England I think. You can't just give people regular houses which are unaffordable for even double-mid incomes.

A moratorium sounds absolutely realistic and long overdue. It just makes sense if a parent is admitted that adult children are not part of reunification. It needs to end somewhere.

Should be open borders for all, just one caveat; must come with your own housing, doctors, dentists, self funded welfare system and large posted bond that is lost if any criminal charges are laid. No problem.

This is deliberate. There is a reason they're allowing this. Here in the US they allow this lunacy for votes.
