I had a flood that covered 2 bedrooms and 2 closets, a small hall and two baths, about 1/2 of water. The water restoration person who works for the manager sucked up the water within 2 hours. It was laminate flooring. He came out every day for 5 days and took "readings" but he never used any fans or remove the floor, nothing was done to mitigate the wet materials. He even encouraged me to sleep in one of the rooms that were wet when I was going to sleep in the living room. I started to feel sick by 48 hours. On the 5th day he tore all the flooring out and the stench was unbearable. He ended up taking out all the bathroom sinks and even toilet, which I think was way over kill. Are the moisture readings meant to be done without drying out the floors or trying to remove the wet material at all? It was grey water came from the washer and he dried nothing. On the 5th day he had 14 fans for 4 days only when he began to remove the floor. He kept saying "insurance" I do not believe the insurance would have stopped him from doing anything to dry out the floor for 5 days, now I have mold.

Hi there, try posting this in our community community.magicplan.app/c/ask-the-community/ - Here, other magicplan users, many of who are water restoration professionals, may be able to offer some insight into your experience.
We are just a tool to help professionals complete their jobs, so how a water restoration professional works, is entirely independent of us.
In general, moisture readers are used to track the drying process and progress being made on an affected area - Silvia
