Didier Belmondo.
Yeol Eum Son has taught me a new way to hear music, especially to appreciate the value of silences, among many other things. She interprets them in a unique way. When the sheet music contains signs of silence where the composer left to the discretion of the interpreter the duration of the silence, Yeol Eum fascinates you irresistibly : stops her speech and it is as if life stops at that point to breath ...; she resumes it, and life returns to flow ... It is the same with the silences that separate variations of a theme, or the episodes of a work containing several, as in this case of the Humoresque. This time of 'wait' between an episode and the next is of the utmost importance for the sensitive listener that is already in tune with what the interpreter is expressing. It should serve as a link between two emotions that are separated and yet are together in one general feeling of the work. Yeol Eum Son does this transition with the highest sensitivity and delicacy that I have ever heard.
+pianoforever100 I think you describe her precisely, and I appreciate your sensitivity toward Yeol Eum which brings out some of the points I never even thought of and guides me to appreciate her differently. I look forward seeing her growth, and she is fascinating and so proud of her.
+heiyoung chang You cannot imagine what a joy they give me your kind words, but I'm glad more you share my admiration for Yeol Eum, and my desire to see her, as she deserves, world- renowned, at the summit of the best. My enthusiasm for her has no limits. For me, music is art at its finest, and must be expressed with utmost nobility and honesty, with a touching emotion, putting the entire soul in its interpretation, and so it does, no doubt, Yeol Eum.
Yet another demonstration of the sublime art of this supremely gifted musician. I cannot think of another pianist of this generation who comes near her ability to become the pure spirit of the music so we may hear it with all its subtleties beauty and feeling, unfurling as continuous revelation. I struggle to think of anyone in the history of recorded piano who is quite so natural, flowing and spontaneous and yet without egotistical gestures or distortions. I am waiting with growing impatience for her to her to make a recital tour in the UK, where she is almost completely unknown...
Dan, you are correct. This young woman is a magnificent artist. I believe she now has a great career. I raise a toast to her success! Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)
Like you, Yeol Eum has become far and away my favorite pianist. I'm also waiting impatiently for her to appear in the variety of venues available to her in the NYC area. Lincoln Center would be a good start. With all the wonderful pianists available to us, she is head and shoulders above them all.
Schumann almost invented a new form (almost a form unique to him) in many of his best piano pieces like this one - neither a sonata, a suite nor a set of individual pieces.
Ah, this wonderful music, those pauses, those silences more eloquent, if possible, than the music, silences inhabited by invisible angels… What happens? It is Schumann, (take off your hat!)) is all the magic of Romanticism, that, suddenly, has invaded the stage, and has filled our soul with a sweet sorrow ... And how has happened this miracle, this spell? Yeol Eum Son is playing!
This video would be so wonderful if Bucciflash would reload it, so the numerous dropouts of the audio tract were eliminated. Is that possible? Thank you so very much!
And I am indeed a boy past the age of 60. Happy to give you a leg up to the high ground Mr. Stopforth, it's what I do. But not for a living, my service is free.
杜艺博 your rudeness is like that of a Chinese couple who walked in front of me as I was standing facing in front of my father's burial stone at his graveyard.
Having said what I had to say to you in response to your blunt comment. Yeah, why? Here, every comment is read even the ones from mind of an uneducated man.

pianoforever100 I like Lang Lang's creativity much more
Jim Cha You can think what you want, it's your opinion, that I don't share at all.
I totally agree with you!

Mesmerizing performance, you bring out the poetry in Schumann exceptionally well!
Thank u for uploading her performances. Shes my favourite pianist♥
The piano is as natural to her as her hands, its almost like she is the piano. I wish I could experience this.
Magnifique délicatesse dans l'interprétation! Superbe!
Yeol Eum Son! You are my favourite pianist!!!!
No word,,,,
Only admiration,,,
Simplesmente Maravilhosa!!! Suas mãos!!!!
Parecem rouxinóis movendo-se sobre o teclado! Parecem as asas de beija-flores, essas mãos
Added to favorites, as this remains an outstanding performance. Thank you, Bucciflash.

how on earth can anyone give a thumbs down on the genius artist ?
It may be that they are disappointed by the sound quality.
She is superb❤❤❤ great pianist!!

I love many fine pianists of today and yesterday, but I must agree with Mr. Usiskin below in all that he says. Yeol Eum has become my favorite.
Talentosa + bella + llena de magia ...

This girl is soooo cool. But if I wasn't nuts already, those jumps in the video would do it.
+MrJohnverkerk /// Yeol Eum Son is not a 'girl' but a woman past the age of 16, boy!
She is still a child in the eyes of God.
And I am indeed a boy past the age of 60. Happy to give you a leg up to the high ground Mr. Stopforth, it's what I do. But not for a living, my service is free.
