Great job on your first vid. Mine was 1000x worse. Just keep grinding. Put out as many as you can and don’t worry about a crowded niche, brother. The channel is about YOU talking about what you love and none of the other channels have YOU. best of luck to you

Nailed it man. A actual photographer’s review, not a major RUclips account or sponsored review.
I’ve had mine for about two months and couldn’t agree with you more. It’s pure magic. Especially coming from a film background. Nikon hit it out of the park. I rarely touch my Fuji X100V now. You just can’t beat full frame analog style digital cameras.

First vid? Dude, already a pro. Easy sub. Just last week I switched from fuji system to nikon. Before fuji I was canon all the way and never would have considered nikon, and same feelings I got when I got it in my hand. Just felt right. It'll be interesting what nikon will do with lenses for the zf, it needs matching style like the 40mm se but with other focal lengths. Hope you get to review or share your thoughts with other lenses from nikon and other third party lenses including manual focus like voigtlanders both in a personal and professional setting.

Love this video - “some random dude, in the middle of fucking nowhere Mid-West”. The Zf is too expensive for me currently, but I shot with Nikon, FE & FE2 back in the day and I thought they were wonderful to pick up and shoot with. They were built so well (like they were meant to last many years.) I currently shoot with old D3S & D3X bodies (I’ve had those about five years) and I love both of those. 😊

D3 is king regardless. I sold mine for d800 and regreted this decision until I sold all my Nikon eq for Leica Sl2S. Df is tempting, but you are just fine with D3 for photos.

Nice review! I own the Z8 and Z9 and love the Nikon system. I would wait to see what's coming out with the Z6iii before picking up the Z8. The Z6iii/ZF would be a stellar combo for pro and personal work. I actually feel the 45 MP of the Z9/Z8 is too much for me and for some reason the 24 MP of the ZF looks more deep and saturated. I might downsize myself for the Z6iii

Do another video! Would love to see you show r6 files vs zf files and or something like that. I'm loving my zf coming from Nikon bodies. I fell in love with the d750 ( I bet you would have liked one that in your 5d days ) and then used the z6ii until the zf came out. Still have the z6ii and they compliment each other very well.

great video! Do you have any lens recommendations for a Fuji shooter who want to jump over to the ZF? All around lens, portrait etc?

I have Nikon's Z 35mm 1.8, great small lens, that I keep on it most of the time. Their f1.8 85mm would be great too. Comes down the work want use with it. The lens I next use the most on this body is Nikon's Z 24-70 S 2.8. Hefty but just so versatile and so sharp! Plus I am a bit of a sucker for the function ring. Nikon's S lines of lenses all of a third ring closer to the body that work like custom function button but as a ring. You can assign an assortment of things to it but I usually have it as the aperature ring or when using my Z7 I have it as my ISO "dial". If you want to keep it small and native, almost all of Nikon's 1.8 primes are stellar and light but sharp with quick AF on the Zf. Viltrox recently started making some native Z glass, not sure on the image quality, but they have some good manual focus lenses. You can always buy an adapter from literally any other lens mount to Nikon's Z mount, so you could adapt for the lenses you already own. Hope this helps.

Any updated thoughts on Nikon Z mount bodies and lenses as a system? Are you still considering a Z8 and moving away from Canon? I have two R5's and several of the top RF lenses but I just picked up a ZF and have been intrigued by the Z8 and Z lensesX especially for wildlife and handheld video. I found Canon's video eye AF for people and animals to be pretty bad when shooting log. Nikon appears to be much better.

If you have the capability, I absolutely love throwing a lieca md262 profile on to my Nikon raw files and tweaking the luminosity curves in Capture One. It does something magical in my opinion :) Great video!

Well, Bill C11 is pushing up Canadian creators. Not everything about it is bad looks like. Keep up the good work man!
Note: The video seems a little blurry, is it a style or a lens issue?

I feel like it also falls in with the F3 a lot too, different viewfinder silhouette but the rest feels close and the feel like a similar weight in my hand. Especially because of the small grip bump

Good start, like the character of the video, and you seem to know what you're talking about. I'll subscribe to see how you settle in.
    If you're interested in my two cents;
    - try to minimize sentences that end with a variation of "I don't really know...". Either research it or leave it out, preferably research it, cause if you don't know, I probably don't either, and I'm interested.
    - keep the content predominantly around the topic of the video. More words do not make better content. I tuned in to hear about the ZF, and you didn't really talk about the camera until about 5 minutes in.

Just a rant: One of the magazine publisher in my country say nasty shit on Nikon files ("the color is too yellow, i cant fix it"), i dont even understand what that guy was saying. Also, he praise the Canon color with "the best skin tone in the market". Since i'm just amateur working part time and has no authority to say in big project meeting, i can only listen to his talking trash on Nikon (if Nikon is that bad, how can the company survive this many years). I still wonder to this day if the publisher has used program like Lightroom :P

Cannon has had better AF in the last 10 years. But NIKON color rendition, and ergonomics have always been better. Cannon mirrorless cameras are outstanding though but oohh so boooring looking. Thanks for the review. I too had Fuji stuff Xt3, Xt5, 100V but kept the 100v. I bet your fiancé is taking better pics than you with the 100V LOL! just kidding brother. Thanks for the Zf Review! 🙏
