The IE800 S (as well as the predecessor IE 800) is one of the best sounding IEMs out there, and probably the most comfortable to wear. Too bad it seems to have been overshadowed by the hype of those other “audiophile” brands that are way overhyped.
Great review, thank you. While most people put the sound and quality on the top priority (which makes sense for hifi IEM), comfort is oftentimes only a footnote. When in fact, half a year down the line when your ear got used to a headphone or in ears, comfort is the thing that'll eventually play an important role. The small form factor is def. a good argument to go with these.
Proprietary tips and non removable cable. Loved my IE800 (non S) but I sold them because of the issues I mentioned above. I wonder what hold our "German engineers" back from making these a removable cable, over the ear IEM with non proprietary eartips?
Those 2 things killed them for me, whenever an IEM of mine broke it was always because of the cable (so I need to be able to replace it and extend the life of my expensive IEM cheaply) and I stopped using multiple IEMs because the tips were too uncomfortable or got lost. Such a deal breaker.
Hi Mike, thank's for the video and hello from germany. I use the ie800s with the Sony Nwwm 1z balanced with the 4.4 cable. And I love the smooth, natural, wide sound . My preference is jazz and classical music. The Sony and these earphones are magical and my endgame inear combination.
Hello i really enjoyed ur video, and btw do you recommendations for me a good earphone budget, i use iphone x with dongel and i really love led Zeppelin, pink floyd, tool, dream theater. Please help
I really like the review of ie800s might be with some reputable player if I'm under estimate performance of the mentioned dac.... I'm new in ieheadphone, just got a ie80s for two weeks
Great Video!, I have the iFi hip-dac, price is actually $149.99 It also has 4.4mm balance output, I wish I had money to buy the IE800S to listen with the balanced cable from the hip-dac.
@@thelastrhino2581 I ordered my Beyerdynamic Xelento wireless a few days ago so I wont also buy these lmao Sure, looks arent that important if the sound that great, but I would always feel like I hold something cheap in my hand. They sound great, but look like some regular earbuds

To me, Sennheiser and Shure could put a little more effort into the cables, especially for their higher priced models.
Great video!! I had the IE 800, I remember how comfortable they were and how easy they were to put in and out.
How do you think these compare to IE900? Or any of the latest IEMs
Great review, thank you.

I've bought them too :) Best Sennheiser earphones out there :)
Just too bad that they are not really detachable if that upper part of the cable fails.
How does this compare to Technics EAh-Tz700?
If you listen mainly stationary it doesn't matter at all.

agreed. the pairing is very good especially for those genres of music. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the IE800S.
Hi, hi fi insider. Can you please comment on akg k3003 vs sennheiser ie 800s in terms of audio quality only? Thanks!
Buy sennheiser. Size and fit matter!

the performance of Hip-DAC is way... above its price. Congratulations on owning one.
I still can't decide if they look really great or just kinda cheap
Great video as always!
Tbh the IE800 looks better. The gloss just screams baller even though it's a whole 100 dollars cheaper
Buy it and you will see how great it looks. But, and here is the upshot, you won't even care about looks, it just sounds great.
i like how discrete the IE800 S is. No one would think you have $1K in your ears. lol

Hi Mike, great Video.
Can you review the IER-Z1R I'd love that.
while i like the IER, i am not completely in love with them. the Sony Z5 is more my liking in comparison
Are these still relevant in 2020?
Good earphones are relevant no matter what year we are in.
Question sounds funny.
Nice one Mike!!! Thank you, my friend.
ie800s is ok but ie500pro is great!
iPhone is 1000$ and the earphones are 1000$ too
Looks like 20 £
And this is really great. These days i wouldn't want to walk on the streets when everybody knows i have 1000$ earphones on me:))
