Thanks for the review! I'm a big fan of the ie900, and wondered about those unfavorable comparisons with the ie600. There is a podcast episode from John Darko with an interview with a Senheiser rep that goes into detail on the ie900, ie600, ie800, etc, that speaks of the driver, manufacture and tuning. Interesting for Senheiser fans in this crowd.

hm, both are just pleasing to the ears, in sense like this ie6/900
the 18t, bcs it has better accuracy/realistic-ness, works really, really well with the clarity and big soundstage it provides, as well as other 64 special tune

    • @iikatinggangsengii2471
      @iikatinggangsengii2471 Год назад

only multiverse beat it in that area, but beaten really hard like another different level
in short a18t is your best iem for natural sound/content with natural environment, such as outdoor shows, human conversations, live shows, movies, dramas, reality shows etc2
'unnatural' environment is like games, music, cartoons, 3d movies etc

I heard these in Singapore, and they were lovely. It was a close battle between the helios and the ie600.However, the helios won my heart! Still a proud owner of them! Love the videos Sajid! Keep 'em coming!

This is what I love about the hobby. You find what you think sounds better because everyone has a unique ear anatomy so we all don’t hear the same imo. I read that ear is like a fingerprint. Anyways, for me with A and B testing, I prefer the ie600. It just fits my overall preferences and music I listen to. Good review btw!

I like the ie900 more as it’s more resolving in the treble part

Thanks for the review! let me say that the main problem with the IE 900 is its price. Many reviewers consider the 600 to be much better and more correct considering in the context of price and reasonableness of purchase. Considering that HI RES has long been a marginalized format for most, they are right. But if you are looking for the right sound and timbral fidelity, then the IE900 is your purchase.

IE600 was $480 for about 1 day when Drop let a 20% off coupon be applicable to their entire site. IE600 normally retails for $600, not $800 that Sennheiser charges on their site normally.

I bought the IE600 directly from Sennheiser for $350 brand new. Glad I waited for that price mistake / quick sale.
I like it at $350 but would be very disappointed if I paid full price for it. Definitely needs a cable upgrade and eartips upgrade to sound its best.
IE600 is my most comfortable IEM by far. It's so small and lightweight, but hefty for its size. I have several better-sounding IEMs but none can stay in the ear as long as the IE600 can, without getting discomfort or even pain.

As a fellow IE600 owner, I agree with the most what you said sajid, but for some reason I find the cable very bad, I did change that for a lista copper, that smoothes the trable a tad bit, Now I like it a lot I use it with loo too paw s2 with, short custom lista necklace cable and type c to type c lista.

We agree that these IEMs are bright, around 10-15k, a region of cymbals that can overpower the mix and create an unpleasant experience without EQ. I am used to planar magnetic headphones with big drivers. Unfortunately ie600 can not compare with its 7" driver and will never be able to produce such dynamics as planar magnetic. For me, the sub-bass sounds lean. It has no meat, no grouch in ie600

@@jasonbhatnagar7134 Thank you! I decided to buy both and try for myself. Some impressions after having them for 2 days: The dynamic driver timbre is beautiful on the IE 600 but the sense of imaging, soundstage and resolution is higher on the IER-M9. The IE 600 treble is spicy to my taste but the bass sounds great, I have to use EQ on my NW-WM1AM2 to tame it down a bit and increase the 4k by 2 db and it sounds wonderful with that Sony DAP. The IER-M9 is not that easy to EQ with the provided EQ options in the Walkman but the synergy is nice since it brings a bit more fun to the overly technical and almost lifeless M9. At the end of the day, I don't have a winner? Both are warm IEMs with the IE 600 being V shaped with spicy treble and the IER-M9 being closer to neutral but with undeniable warmth.
Also tried the M7, it is still a step down from M9 imaging and soundstage but I agree with Sajid, M7 has much better tuning than the M9. Also the engineer Hiroaki Sato prefers the M7. I wish there were an IER-M10 with the technical chops of the M9 and the tuning of the M7. I am not sure if the 64 Audio U4s or the U12t would be that realization. The IE 600 is more resolving than the IER-M7 but the M7 has a more linear tonal balance and it is darker in the treble. It sounds great with a few db in the sub bass.

watch out for many scams on ie600/900s. Theres a big counterfeit market stemming from China. You can buy yourself a 1:1 clone for under $200 on aliexpress. They even replicate the serial numbers and qc card. If your seller is shipping from china and is selling it at a very low price, chances are that it’s fake.

I'm getting super curious about this IEM and given the current sales I'm at the brink of pulling the trigger. My two favorite IEMs are the Tea2 and IE200. They are tonally rather similar. Tea2 objectively better, but something about the Sennheiser veil (or what I assume is the famous veil) is winning my heart. Plus the comfort is just ridiculous, and it's a bigger factor when I choose which one to grab than I ever gave it credit. Not sure how the IE600 would play in, tonally speaking... I usually listen to rock, electronic music, and occasionally some hiphop and pop. Wdyt?

I have the 200 and 600. The 600 is considerably more aggressive and detailed, and I love it. Rock, EDM, Hiphop, pop... anything fun and energetic will sound insane. It's bombastic.

In case you are (or someone else is) interested, I have both, although I use them on different systems (one on desktop, one with DAP) and for some reason I've never directly compared them so I just did. The main difference is that the Stealth sounds sharper, cleaner, has a wider sound stage and sounds more neutral, the IE600 has a definite W shaped sound in comparison. Both have excellent timbre and are amazingly good devices, the Stealth is a clear step above the IE600 but the IE600 is pretty darn good and excellent for portable systems as they're so small and comfortable. Both have horrible cables.
