I love your idea about using stickers! They look very similar to the hot stamp, but obviously can be removed. I only have one hot stamp on a luggage tag, and I didn't hesitate because it's not something I'll ever sell. Everything else I feel is a risk because, like you said, you never know when you'll want or need to sell, and the personalization makes it so much harder. Thanks for the great advice!💜
I love watching your videos because I learn a lot. I recently got my first bag, the Bond Street (the larger one) in Bordeaux, and got my luggage tag hot stamped with my initials. It bothered me so much that there was not a period after my last initial until you just explained that is their style. I thought it was just my carelessness not specifying the period at the end and it really irritated me that I spent so much money and made such a careless mistake--now I feel so much better. I agreed I would only Hot Stamp luggage tags because they are normally used as bag charms and most have a tag for each bag if you can get a tag very hard to get most can only get a tag resell market. If you hot stamp some other items and want to sell it you will get less unless the buyer doesn’t care or has the same initials. I would only hot stamp a forever item.
My fiancee purchased a wallet for my birthday and had my initials stamped. Sadly, the letters are uneven. I bought myself a wallet and I don't trust the outcome so I decided not to.

The stickers I put on my agenda all those years ago are still there but have worn quite a bit. Whether your stickers stick would depend on a few factors. You could try it and see. Just be careful you're not using a sticker that would leave a sticky residue if it comes off.
I hot stamp items that I know I’m keeping. I have had a slightly crooked hot stamp...which annoyed me lol. I have most of my luggage tags stamped, my agenda, my Emile, card case. Ohhh great idea about the stickers 😉👌🏾.
I just got my luggage tag stamped of graceful PM bag. That was my first hot stamp. I chose a little flower and was thinking to get dog but I changed mind at last minute. I wd not care if someone else's initials were on a bag because its all part of the bag's history. However only if the initials were subtly embossed. No gauche colours or foils for me; I think they make a bag too busy.
I collect Michael Kors bags & wallets ..i get hot stamped on whatever items i can beacuse. One i don't intend to ever sell them & two i live in a bad area of my city so if it gets stolen its harder to re sell also easier to prove its mine
I’m kind of over the hot stamp. However, I’ve never had a problem reselling a bag that was stamped. nor do I mind buying a preloved piece with a stamp.
You can leave your bags to me...kidding I’m much older than you. Anyway I had my iPhone folio stamped last year and I love it. Also, I just bought a Speedy 30 in DE for a great deal because it’s hot stamped with the letters “AW”. I’m going to try and remove the “A” foil but leave the “W” because my name starts with it. I have found that my bag charms do a great job at hiding stuff so don’t let hot stamps stop you from getting a great deal on a pre loved bag!
Hi Autumn. Personally, I would not put initials on items for the same reasons you outlined. I DO, however rather like the embossed 'destination' luggage tags such as the NY & Guam tags you showed. Those would be a nice souvenir from a trip. In general, I don't care for decorating handbags with charms, scarves, & such items. It reminds me of kids putting bumper stickers on their cars......kind of immature, ya know? And yes, I did it too..... had a '69 VW Bug with daisy stickers plastered all over it. Hippy dippy :)
I've decided to hotstamp my SLGs, but only with one initial and maybe, if it is possible, the fleur de Lys. Bags I don't want to get hotstamped, not because I want to sell them, but if I inherit them to my Dad (or maybe friends), so that they can sell them (I suppose my Dad wouldn't really want to carry a Louis bag 😉). But some SLGs I really liked to get hotstamped, and it's not that much money like a bag, if there's a not so good resale value 😊.
I have a luggage tag (from the 80s) that I got hot stamped in hawaii on my honeymoon, but they did not warn me that aged leather (even though in great condition) would not take the hot stamp well. So it is very superficial and the color peeled back on day 1. Now it looks bad; LV said oh well. I do have a speedy w/ a hot stamp of my initial on the chap (pre loved!) I love that because I got a deal on the bag, but I otherwise wouldn't hot stamp a bag. I never would have thought about that with the never full omg good point! Great topic for a video.
Hi Autumn, I recenlty hot stamped my 6 key holder, I chose the dog, it wasn’t small. My SA showed me two sizes of the dog stamp, one small and the other is bigger. I chose the bigger one and it looked so cute on my key holder ☺️ So yeah maybe some LV store have different sizes 😅 Have a good day!
I own nothing that is hot stamped and I tried to get a luggage tag on my travels when I was in Europe That did not happen they’re very strict about it. I like the idea of having a hot stamp from every city that you’ve been to but I don’t own a keepall and I don’t plan on getting a keepall so I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to get a luggage tag hot stamped. I guess I could start looking at the pre-loved market and no I do not want a small leather good or a handbag with someone else’s initials on it
Hello again from the UK! Another great video, and something I've been thinking about for a while now. I had used my NF GM Mono with Pivoine lining for a year or so before deciding to to hotstamp with 'BAT' in hot pink to match the lining. It came back aligned with the chap so does look wonky. Didn't regret it straight away, but it's been a couple of years now and I've come to regret it. I've gone from "Hotstamp all the things! Make them truly mine!" to "that's a hard NO". I wish I'd seen your video 4 years ago! 👜😭
I trust My loyal S.A in Singapore in the L.V store my two slg card holders i had it hot stamped it without colour's . Only my leather key holder had colour hot stamped my keyholder the hot stamping foil colour doesn't last long .

I think there will be an extra premium for non hot stamped SLGs etc in a crowded market of hotstamped slgs in the future - you are right about limited edition piece, especially the bag charms. I wonder if the brands encourage it, (Dior’s opening a pop up where you can hotstamp in Harrods), to kill the desirability of second hand items. I think Dior are doing up to 11 letters - whole names will make items really difficult to sell second hand.
Great video!!! I do have my LE Kabuki neverfull and my DE SpeedyB embossed with my “TIF” no color. My Mono Neverfull GM is hot stamped with “TIF” in gold foil (my first piece). I also hot stamped 6 ring key holder with “TIF” with pink but the color is gone, so it just looks embossed lol. Color is a No for me now lol 😂. I do have a DE Graceful that came with a luggage tag and I have “TIF” hot stamped with gold foil. Now that I know, the luggage tag is the way to go but I definitely love my “TIF” being embossed on it. It’s like my little secret and nobody really knows.

Do you know if the foil throughout time might peel off? My husband purchase an Alma BB for Xmas, and he told me he wanted to get it hot stamp. Except he didn’t know what I wanted, so he said it’s your choice lol 😂. I am considering on hot stamping my Alma BB tag. I just don’t know if I want gold foil or no foil.
I'm getting the Victorine Wallet in monogram, and it'll be my first ever piece so I was thinking of getting it hot stamped and making it super personal, but you never know, in 10 years I could desperately want to sell it. How they do the initials with the periods only after the first 2 letters is very odd. I would prefer no periods. Do you find the Galleria “hotstampers” to be good? I think it looks cute tho but I prefer to use charms and twillys to dress up my bags. My luck IF I ever did hot stamp anything, mine would look uneven! Great video Autumn!

When I went into the store to buy my neverfull the SA told me about the fact that the handles are put on there a bit tilted. She explained that they always made sure that the hot stamping is aligned with the bag and not the handels. When I look at it it doesn't bother me that the stamp is a bit tilted on the handle piece cause it is even with the bag. I thought it would cause I'm very detail orientated and things like this can drive me crazy.

Well I had my black bifold epi wallet hot stamped and my luggage tags on my Damier Graphite Keepall and my Beaubourg bag too.
I've had the hangtags on my Coach bags hot stamped, but not any of my LV pieces. My daughters and I have the same initials, so it works out great.

Maybe wait a few weeks or months to be sure you love the wallet. You can always hot stamp it later.

Whether they will do it while you wait depends on how busy they are. I've only had two things hot stamped and they both turned out great.
