LOVE Coach! Will always be a loyal fan. Factory Outlet or boutique, I don’t care. It’s like a timeline, or memory book of my life. I don’t care about over saturation either. I have a wonderful friend that I don’t get to see very often. When we are able to see each other, or take a trip, we purchase matching handbags but in different colors. When I carry those bags it reminds my of my best friend who lives in a different state. Does anyone else have any traditions like that? So much fun!
I started buying Coach bags in the 70s and that style is imprinted on me as the ideal Coach bag. I used to stop by at the Coach store and nearly cry at the loss of the original Coach quality. I don’t stop anymore. It isn’t Coach. Not only have the lost something but the cost has made them unaffordable.
Agreed. Being made in New York was one of its unique qualities. All in the same thick saddle leather with no linings, just solid brass hardware. Classic!
When I graduated from graduate school in 2010, all my aunts and uncles pitched in and got me the pleated Ergo tote. It was my first real high quality bag. I still have it but haven't used it in forever. This is inspiring me to get it cleaned up and start using it again!
I just found one today at a local thrift store for super cheap and had to come back to this video because I immediately recognized it. Such a great bag and super high quality!
I love the vintage coach bags. I've been blessed enough to curate some from both Facebook market and eBay period both my daughters. I started them on vintage coach and they are still using them. You know, 12 years later, the quality and craftsmanship, it was really superb. As my older bags And look better than my newer bags -- still all in all a coach fan - ❤
I had no idea Coach led the way with tiny bags as charms. I think of the Krakoff years as bleh now, but you’re starting to change my mind with this video.💜
Coach bags along with Dooneys were all I carried back in the 90s after college. They were just amazing pebbled leather. Just delicious. Today, however, everything flimsy and just not as appealing. While having a very high price tag!! Never liked Michael Korhs and Kate Spade was out of my budget. Therefore, all of my bags are Brahmin. Colorful and classy! 💖
I do love Coach. Not sure why this is the first time I came across your channel. You are a great journalist! I appreciate your narration, professionalism and examples. Good job! New subscriber.
Coach has been in my life since 1979 when I was gifted with my first Coach purse ever from Marshall Fields in Oak Brook, IL. I started my Daughters collection also at age 16 ❤️👑👜👛 Such a transformation over the years 💜👜👛
This was a great video, so many gorgeous bags, many that I don’t think I appreciated as much from the later years when they were first released. Looking back, those bags are stunning! Thanks for putting these videos together Autumn, this is a great reference source!
I remember most of these bags. I had the Carly and later when that tore apart and was deemed defective I put the credit towards a fancy white leather Madison bag. I think the retail was around $600 at that time and it scared me to carry it but I loved it!! I remember all those interiors fondly. It was a great era. I also remember when the quality went downhill and the uprising of MK and TB. I had 2 MK bags but later sold them and we soon as coach quality improved again in the late 2000s I started buying again. These series are a lot of work but they are so fun to watch!
I love this series and such great informations. I alway wanted to go back and get a bag from each year. I got my first Coach in 2009 after seeing Coach’s bag (with the CC) downtown office. I finally gave in and got one after I had my son as a gift to myself. Thank you.
I am amazed by the fantastic collection of Coach bags you own❣️I own a couple of them as well and I love every piece I have.😊 I am for sure a big Coach fan and love the videos you are bringing us. I understand that it’s a huge amount of time that you’re putting in researching everything. Thank you for that,Autumn.🙏🏻🥰
Love the history lesson, Autumn! Coach has been one of my favorite hand bag brands for about 20 years now. Over the years I have bought many of their bags and they have proven to be sturdy and worth way more than what I've paid for. I've never had to baby a coach bag, especially the pebbled leather ones and the patent leather ones. New subscriber here btw!
I've been a Coach lover for longer than I can remember. I'm 65 so a long time. 😉 I bought a small bit of stock in Coach a long time ago. I will remain loyal to them even if they tank. I love their bags new and vintage as well as their shoes. 🥿👟👜👝
I got my first Coach bag in 1992 and carried it for near 20 years. I got my second Coach bag in 2019 or thereabouts and now I have maybe 15, a mix of outlet and boutique. Currently I'm lusting after the Lana but of course it won't go on sale.
The only vintage coach bag i have is a soho sholder bag with the big Cs. Chocolate leather trim with braided straps and suede on the top sholder piece. It's unlike any other soho I've seen and that's why i wanted it so much. It still looks BRAND NEW. It was my very 1st designer bag and it was a huge deal for me. I really took care of it, i just wish i could find the original dust bag which has to be somewhere in my house.
❤ I have that same tweed bag! I bought it this year on eBay for a great price. My favorite collections are the Legacy and the Parker. I usually go for older Coach bags. I passed on the quilted Tabby, but this fall, I am saving up for the fall collection. I love the new shape!
Autumn, I’ve never seen many of these bags! Some I remember and owned. I sold all of my old Coach bags, especially the signature and Poppy items, which I don’t regret. That Poppy wristlet is 🔥 though. Love the classic direction in which Coach has been going. Have bought many items from this summer’s sale.
My only Coach bag is from 2001, an ox-blood/burgundy Hamilton hobo. It's like new because the clip closure (the same one used on the recent Hamptons shoulder bag) is difficult to open and close, so I don't use it very often!
Amazing recap of this era! I'm really enjoying this series and you're doing it so well. My first Coach purchase was during the Reed Krakoff era - it was a black leather pleated Madison in the small size with gold hardware. I wore that bag everywhere and loved it. I still have it and it still looks incredible. I now own ~16 bags total, many of them Coach and and several of them are "luxury" brands - Mulberry, Celine, and Loewe. But my Coach bags are still my most worn and l get excited to see what they're doing with every new season. The quality of those bags are the same or better than the higher priced pieces in my collection.
Had no idea there were so many types of Coach bags. I have two vintage bags one being the City bag and the second is called the Prairie (I think). Used them for years and then I left Coach, but came back around 2015. Thanks so much for the video. Am looking forward to more. ❤😊
Magnificent Thank you for this Coach has been ,and still is one of my favorite brands, even though I have closets packed with LV ,and some other higher end designs, I will always cherish my Coach bags Extremely well done history lesson Thank you so much Use all your treasures in the best of health MJ
I bought my first Coach Bag at an outlet store it was a leather navy blue purse and the inside was lime green!! I loved it and I let my friend use it and she ruined the inside of that purse with makeup and an ink pen leaked and I was so so mad!! My second purse was a tote bag which I still use today!! I can't afford coach anymore but if I ever get a little money I'm getting my third!!! Good show!!
I love your coach Videos glad I can heard you most of the coach bags my mom has as my sister was SA for coach and then go in other Coach stores my sister would open her coach bag when leave the store because she was SA she said it just want check as know keep all bags
Thank you for this wonderful video. What a joy to watch the history of a brand that has been in the past of many of our lives. Love a nostalgia trip of coach any day!
I am loving this series!!!, thank you. Too many bags that I loved. Being from the UK I didn't know any of this about Coach. I now understand why you guys in the USA love it!...It goes to show if you go back far enough another brand was doing it first 💜
Thank you for educating me about my favorite brand. If I had to pick a favorite I would have to choose the patchwork bags. The patterns are amazing. It's interesting that little ole Coach originated so many concepts that we are seeing again.
Coach Loyal Enthusiast here! Love this video! I'm a Coach signature addict, love the Tattersall print, I still have my tote, agenda cover and matching accessories! I had an Ergo hobo bag in the mini signature print, just sold that set about 3yrs ago now, right before the Pandemic hit! The Legacy stripe collection was another of my favs! I still own 5 agenda covers from those collections. OMG, I had this straw basket bag in the brown leather trim, man the memories, I still own one I just carried recently and still get many compliments on the straw tote! The Satchels for many years was my favorite style Coach handbag. I actually still have the orange slice coin purse feature in one your sample pics. The patchworks designs were another favorite, I owned the Denim patchwork hobo style bag! Wow, I even owned the pleated Ergo in the Black Patent leather design. The the Tatoo Collection clear tote which I still have in my collections today! It was my favorite winter season back several years back. This video is making me regret having sold those vintage designs, Hah! I enjoyed this video and will be tuning next Thursday :)
2012 was the first time I was able to purchase multiple bags for myself. I went a little crazy on the legacy collection and still have the emerald green duffle and the cognac rory. ❤
Excellent video. My fave from this era was the SoHo Top Handle in the Ocelot hair calf with lavender suede flap … which I owned and sold - like a dummy, it was stunning ❤ and one of my all time favorite Coach bags!
Love this video! Brings back many memories of this era and makes my Gen X heart so happy! I am going to go pull out my Y2K Coach bags and admire them! And you inspired me to do some ebay window shopping
I have the Soho Shoulder bag in black (my first Coach bag), and I also have the Dylan Soho Hobo bag you showed in Saddle (I think). I love the braided handle and I almost sold it a few years ago until I came to my senses. You have a beautiful collection and thank you for doing this series.
Autumn, you never cease to amaze me with your research! And I’m floored with your stunning Y2K collection! I owned the braided handle hobo back in 2007 that you have! ❤
This is so fascinating, Dawn. All of your Coach history videos have been eyeopening and have made me wish that I had been a consumer of Coach handbags before this year. I only have one but I totally want more including some older Coach like the Winnie that Fuchsia Floyd just acquired. Thanks for regaling me with the this very cool information!
Hi Autumn! What a fantastic series! #Coach really needs to check these out and send you some props! This is so enjoyable and your calm personality is a joy. Thank you for doing this!
Thank you for doing this series. I love Coach, and learning about the history is fascinating I love the mid 2000 era that’s when I became aware of the brand and bought my first one which I still own and brought out to use this summer.
I really like the Coach Borough bag. I think it was a Reed design? A wonderfully comprehensive survey! I hope that when you finish Coach you will consider doing a series on another design house. Thank you for the video!
Fascinating, Autumn! I have a legacy Francine in gold pebble leather (sort of a bit of white in the deep creases of the pebble leather-larger pebbles than usual). Gorgeous. I wish I could put a picture here. I’m loving these videos, thank you! ♥️
I so appreciate the time you spent looking into the history of Coach. I have the original Willis bag in black and a few others. Do you have any suggestions on how to sell a vintage Coach bag? You have a beautiful collection. Love your videos!

The day Marshall Fields died, a little bit of my soul died 😢
@@unmellowyellow Me too!
@8:12 FYI: As a New Yorker, the bag was named after the Flat Iron building located on 5th Ave. (two separate words)
I also called that building the way she called it when I was younger.. Flatiron Building. Hehe

Fantastic research thank you. I enjoyed hearing what trends that Coach created were picked up by the big three. Chanel Hermès and Louis Vuitton
One of my first coach bags was from the poppy collection 🥰 it was orange with signature c's
I love this series and such great informations. I alway wanted to go back and get a bag from each year. I got my first Coach in 2009 after seeing Coach’s bag (with the CC) downtown office. I finally gave in and got one after I had my son as a gift to myself. Thank you.

I bought a few Coach bags this month but mostly is made in Vietnam.

Such a wonderful video on this era. My favorite era was the beginning through 1999, but I do appreciate some of the more recent bags.
