This is great advice! Even for ppl like me who like purchasing pre-loved bags. Although most pre-loved purchases are made online or through an app these are still factors to consider while looking at the pictures and may even help a buyer request more detailed pictures. Thank you! Ive been following you since day-one and I love your channel!
Aw thanks so much hun! These days, the preloved websites/sellers have such high quality photos you can definitely check these things with online preloved purchases! Have an amazing day xx
Great video. Wish I saw this before I bought my first Chanel (a few months ago, but I returned it). I had the WORST experience at Neiman Marcus. I bought the medium double flap. Since it was my first bag, I was way too excited to even examine the bag. And it was brand new when the SA brought it out to me. I didn’t wear the bag until almost 2 months later. Luckily I was looking through my shopping receipts, and saw I only have 2 days to return the bag. NM gives 60 days with full return, but I think now it is 30 days. I examined the bag, since it was almost $6k. I was in shocked when I saw the caviar leather was scrapped and lifted on the side of the bag. One side was in perfect condition, while the other side didn’t look right. I was looking through in every lighting in my house even asked my husband to confirm. I brought the bag back to the NM boutique, the SA who helped me that day, was SO RUDE! 1. She said that’s normal, since Caviar leather will look like it is used. 2. She gave me a hard time regarding return policy. 3. She said, maybe Chanel isn’t for me. WTH!!! I was in gasp, I would have complained to the manager if I had more time. My intention was to come there and do an exchange or get the jumbo, but with the service, I decided to just return the bag and not ever go to that boutique. She did end up giving me the full return but with nasty attitude. With this experience, I will always examine future luxury bag purchases. Anyone dealt with this? Leather scrapping?
That is insane!!! At the price these bags are, that is totally unacceptable! Hopefully you will have a better experience next time if you ever go back to Chanel.. Thanks so much for watching! Xx
Appreciate Video! Excuse me for the intrusion, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you heard about - Panaylee Renowned Prepotence (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is an awesome exclusive product for finding luxury or designer goods at wholesale or lower prices minus the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my work buddy got cool results with it.
Fantastic topic and I do appreciate how organized you are with your content. I got some seriously good tips from you again. One other area I check is the closures. For example, I owned a Chanel WOC for less than four months and discovered that it wasn’t for me. When I attempted to sell it to Fashionphile, they discovered two problems and would not accept the bag. The snap clasp was defective and poorly aligned. They also discovered that the serial number was a mistake. It contained an extra number. Even though they authenticated the bag, they would not buy it due to the defects. Luckily, I contacted Saks Fifth Avenue Chanel boutique and they did a return after I spoke to the manager about these problems.
Wish more people talked about this on their luxury channels! I’ve been so into luxury bags lately and just like everyone else going to purchase items I’ve gotten SO excited, don’t even bother to check anything because you think everything is absolutely brand new and top notch quality! I went into Louis Vuitton, bought my Neverfull MM and it wasn’t until I got home and took it out the next day to use that I noticed a red mark on the beige interior of my bag! ): Not sure if it was a returned bag or how that red mark got in there, almost looks like makeup but knew they probably wouldn’t believe me and think that I caused it even though it was like that the minute I took it out to use it. So I just kept it and decided to not let it make or break my bag since it was so small and not noticeable unless you really look for it but when you pay $1320 for a bag you want to be the one who puts the wear in it! Thank you for this video!
Great video! I’ve had my shares of bad luck where my luxury items were not near perfect. I hate it when I’m told that “that’s the way it’s supposed to be or it’s a hard one to get aka settle or lose it”. I’ve learned that unless is near perfect, I don’t care how hard it is to get. It’s too expensive to settle for mediocre. Besides- aren’t we paying all this money for it’s beauty and luxurious look??? Sorry, I’m just ranting, thinking of so many bad experiences. So, yes, inspect what you expect! Very helpful video!!!
I can't believe I didn't think of these things when I even inspect clothes I buy second hand. I am buying my second LV bag, a Speedy. I have to admit, I didn't bother to inspect my first LV which was a neverfull (luckily it was perfect, it still is 😊). I would surely inspect my second purchase. Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful day!!
Aw I am so glad to hear you will inspect your next purchase! It is so important to do so for the price we are paying! Thanks so much for watching babe xx
Awesome video and beautiful pieces Isabelle. I couldn't help but to laugh but find comfort in knowing you are thorough and compare all the pieces too. I've done this and have spent hours looking over bags until I found the perfect one for me. Thanks for sharing such informative videos. 💕
Great video, thank you for sharing these tips! Besides looking for any scuffs on the leather, I also always check the zippers making sure they open smoothly.
Love the color of your blazer in this video! Also, great tips to keep an eye out for. I have looked over a LV bag in stores and noticed a nick on the flap. The sales associate discarded the bag right away, but it would have been nice not to have to figure that out at home after and then bring it back in.
This video is really helpful! And l always love watching your videos! Great tips! I am a little bit picky when l buy something in the store/boutique. I can even say that it can be stressful in a way. I have just bought my Valentino Rockstud flats online and although I missed the experience in the boutique, l took my time to try the shoes and inspect them carefully in the peace of my closet room! ☺️ l love to know that it not only me who is looking at all details 😊😊 thank you darling
Aw thanks so much for watching my videos and letting me know they are helpful, it means so much! I agree about the online shopping, it is so much less stressful to inspect and returns policy is usually quite easy! Congrats on your new Valentinoes! Xx
I remember that video from Shea! I thought her reaction was hilarious but I hated how LV came back and told her there was nothing wrong with the bag. That's terrible customer service in my opinion. You don't want to tell your customers they're crazy!
@@IsabellesStyle I'm so glad! I really enjoy every one of your videos and always look forward to them. I know you have a busy schedule and can't always post regularly so when a new video pops up it's such a nice surprise.
Great video ! On my Louis Vuitton bag one of the zipper pulls fell off from the inside pocket . Thank goodness it fell inside the pocket so I still had it . I only had the bag one week . I purchased it in Las Vegas and I live in Canada with no Louis Vuitton store in my city. My husband was going to clamp it back on for me but I called the store first . They told me not to have my husband fix it but bring it back to the store when I’m back in Las Vegas . I went 6 months later and they fixed it for me !! Yeah !!! 😉
Thank u for these tips. I will go shopping tom. Expensive or cheap.... We all need to inspect it..... Coz its just so hassle to go back n prove to the sa that there's something wrong on the item
Great video. I always check the bag before I purchased it. Sometimes I even ask to see multiple of the same bag. Just so I can pick the best one. I spend a long time just checking it. I used to be embarrassed by it but not anymore. If I’m paying that much for a bag I want to make sure it’s perfect. I remember my first purchased from LV was the Alma pm epi leather. I was so excited about the bag that I didn’t really check it throughly. I felt like the sa was getting annoyed so I rushed it. By the time I got home I realised there was a dent on the side. Like it was going into the bag. I brought it back the next day. The sa tried to tell me that oh that’s normal. I had to argue with him that it’s a structure bag it shouldn’t have a dent like that. He was rude until my hubby stepped in and ask to speak to the manager.
That is so crazy that the SA was so rude! You just wouldn’t expect it from such a high end store! I’m glad your hubby stepped in and hopefully all was sorted out. Thanks so much for watching☺️ xx
Isabelle Ahn yes he was so rude. He was trying to convinces us that it was normal for a very structure bag to lose it shape. Yeah after years of wear not when you just bought it. The manager was helpful and exchanged it for me no question asked. She even brought out a few of them so I could go through each one. In the end I got my bag and I still have it now in my collection.
So agree with you. I bought lv eclipse monogram bag online and as soon i open the box i knew something wrong with the monogram is not symmetrical , when i returned it to the store the sales coudlnt see it. They r so dumb, working there but dont give attention to detail.
Hi hun! My preference is always in store purchase so I can examine the bag but if the online store offers good returns policy, I’m totally ok to buy online:) thanks for watching xx
Although I have many designer brands including Chanel, over time, I am more convinced that designer does NOT equal quality. Once brands like Chanel get too popular, they get away w/ excessive prices, as well as lowered quality due to having to produce more volume, while having at best okay quality. Maybe the only exception for premier brands being Hermès, since they hand-make every bag. The wear on Vuitton damere azure for example seems to be horrible- only a few years before the white is as yellow as rotten teeth. (I have my eye on a few azur pieces but hesitate due to how bad every one of them looks on the secondhand market.)

Isabella,
Excellent points to check the bag! You are right, one does get overwhelmed at the store.

Great video. Very timely for me. Watched it several times
