    Most of the time, you wouldn’t realize until it’s too late and you can’t return the item, so I thought I’d share. Includes Chanel Boy bag review, Hermes Click Bracelet, Chanel earrings, Valentino Rockstud heels and a couple of items from Louis Vuitton!

      moonshine yogi there’s plenty of Instagram “influencers” (🤢) that get bags for free from Gucci so yeah some RUclipsrs do get big brands to send them things and review them or use them for photos. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      moonshine yogi most of RUclips is partnered - even if it isn’t with the atelier themselves but Nordstrom or a department store that houses in label so they do get indirect kickbacks or commissions from being less objective.

    • @ColoringKaria
      @ColoringKaria 5 лет назад +64

      and she really is only complaining. she can totally get a refund or replacement for any defective product, but why do that when you can just complain. and thats the real deal.

    • @pavladavlas
      @pavladavlas 5 лет назад +304

      ColoringKaria because people who aren’t as knowledgeable about big designer brands or are trying to get premium designer products won’t know how to spot a bad product, and reviews like this help those people see what’s worth the money and what isn’t. Also, most high fashion designer labels do not issue refunds.

    • @ColoringKaria
      @ColoringKaria 5 лет назад +14

      @@pavladavlas actually thats not true. they all have some kind of refund policy. you just usually have a few days 7 or 14. but if product is defective almost all these brands LV, hermes, chanel will offer an exchange or repair up to 1 year free of charge and a repair for a fee from then on. some repairs are even free. I know I just my 10 year old LV key case repaired for free.

      ColoringKaria in what world is a repair equal to a 100% refund?

    • @ColoringKaria
      @ColoringKaria 5 лет назад +8

      Ok I’m rereading what I wrote. Nope I didn’t say that. I *DID* say that If she had a problem with the quality she could take it in for a refund *OR* repair (which sometimes means they just give you a new one). No one should use something and expect a full refund. But if it’s brand new and there is a problem with quality a refund or repair will be offered. If she’s had it for years than no refund should be expected but a repair often for free will be offered. I also *did* say that your claim that refunds are never offered is false. If the item is new usually less than 2 weeks old a refund will be offered if the product is resellable or if it is defective. I know this to be a 100% fact. That does not mean that a repair/replacement/refund are the same thing (Apparently that’s a thing that needs to be said.) depending on the age and condition of the product you will get offered one or more of those options.

    I repair and restore leather goods (aka shoes and bags) for a living, and must say that the worst I have encountered is Balenciaga bags. The leather is thinner than paper and is glued onto cardboard, which then disintegrates when being used. And then the leather tears. I've seen Primark bags that are better quality.

      She sounds like my Mum. Growing up, my Mum worked on Bank St and we lived in north London. I remember Mum would dress normally at home with us, but her work clothes were so posh and we weren't allowed anywhere near her work gear. I remember her on the phone ripping into a shop with her dry observations and calm tone. They zipper on a work dress had been repaired by them twice and had broken a third time.
      As an adult, I realize just how expensive her work clothes were. My Dad was a fireman in London and was retired from the military, we got to play with his work gear, I thought she was just being a bitch. But hey, we got to play with gas masks, and pull on suspender yellow rubber trousers and all sorts of stuff. I've learned to appreciate my mother didn't have a large wardrobe of clothes, but a limited selection of high quality clothes that she saved up for and planned carefully.

Or polyurethane which is (shocker) also plastic. Never pay the luxury price for vegan leather because it is literally just not worth it unfortunately:(
    If you are vegan and care about the environment and of course don’t support animal cruelty do not but vegan leather because it is not biodegradable anyway so a good alternative is a cotton bag or a cork bag :) hope this helps!

With leather, people eat meat so it's the leftovers of an animal. With fake leather and fake fur, their production itself is toxic and done in poor countries abusing poor workers and the waste is being dumped into the nature. So... It's not even better alternative! What's is the best option? Having quality things that will last you more than 10 years, be it fake or real. Fake, though, from many experiences and countless testimonies, isn't worth it. Not yet. I’m a vegan and what I do is I buy high quality leather and fur items at thrift stores. That way the money goes to charity and not the fur/leather industry, and I have good biodegradable items that will last longer than any fake ones, so I’ll be throwing out less and not supporting sweatshops. It’s really a win win situation :)

If their stuffs is going to be that expensive they might as well make their products made of real gold.

She’s more of a Hermes fan now but around a year and a half ago, she decided to buy a new Louis Vuitton bag as she hadn’t gotten one in a while and was shocked by how much the quality had gone down. I agree. Prada has downgraded its quality over the years. It is a known industry fact. The owner wanted to maximize profits after the brand, which was not well known until the middle nineties, received the stamp of approval from the celebrity market. I still have some RTW from one of the early collections that I bought in Raspini in the 80s. It was much higher quality. Unfortunately the bags were fashion but never of the highest quality neither in construction or materials. I was a big fan for many years mostly 80s and 90s. It went down hill.

  • @SimonFanProductions
    @SimonFanProductions 5 лет назад +33

    This is my unbiased view: High Polish Metal finishing are prone to scratches. Luxury items are not indestructible. They're just as prone to damage and deterioration as a $30 item.
    A lot of Luxury fashion houses don't have "in-house" artisans. Most of them source from third party artisans. As for metal accessories, precious metal plated brass/silver components: the electroplating can rub off pretty fast since they're not capped and friction due to design flaw can accelerate wear.
    Remember that most of these luxury items are nothing more but status symbols and designs that you enjoy wearing.
    If you really want to wear metal accessories or jewelries then go for solid precious metal alloy.
    As for leather goods, that's up to you but know that "luxury" leather goods will age like "lower-tier" leather goods. They're the same material.

    • @SimonFanProductions
      @SimonFanProductions 5 лет назад +5

      @WakinTheDeadFan Precious metal such as gold, palladium, rhodium, iridium, platinum, and tantalum in alloy form are hard enough that they're not malleable enough so they can maintain shape and they're inert so they don't tarnish or oxidize.
      I don't know what's "affordable" to your personal definition and standard so I'm staying away from that context.

So I always touch things at stores to feel them. Also photos kind of show if it looks tacky or expensive

    OMG! This is the first video ever of someone telling us how cheaply made certain high end pieces are. I had no idea and thought they were all made to perfection.

    Did it on a Friday afternoon 😂😂
    Also with the black LV bag and wallet, they look like they show a bunch of finger prints which would drive me crazy

    I purchase 90% of my designer items from consignment stores and I love it. The standard quality just isn't there anymore.

    I sold my crystal Chanel earrings a few months after I bought them. The posts are so thick, that they are quite uncomfortable to insert into pierced ears. After watching this, I am glad I did; sold them for retail in my eBay store.

    ANYTHING made by a high end brand that is monogrammed or spammed with the logo is low quality in comparison to their other items.
    That’s where they get their money from.

    The mentality of consumers is owning something “affordable “ and still have the luxury brand name embossed on as a social status even the quality of products is cheap, but thats where those “luxury” brands make the most money, every time a customer bought some overpriced accessories seems like they are being laughed at by those brands owners.

    I had the same experience as you had with your Chanel earrings with a Versace bag. All the gold on it went on and it was pretty unpleasant. The knly difference and a BIG one, I would say, is that they change it for me in one day time. With a Voucher, when I've said I did not want the same model. Then, happened with some Versace earrings and that was the moment when I've stopped buying designer jewelleries which are not made from gold. They simply don't deserve the money. Another sad experience was with some perfumes, but that's another topic.

    I owned a YSL bag that my aunt gave me. It came from a thrift store my aunt worked at. Some rich lady sent it in for the charity. I kept it, never used it and one day while cleaning out the closet, I put it in a bag and gave it away to another charity shop. I could kick myself for doing that! I did not realize that that bag could have been worth a lot of money.
