Maybe he’s alluding to him being sucked in the game (like petscop) he did say it was a “revival machine” and the machine was created for the devs dying son
The story telling in the video is fantastic.
Not only that, the camera also slowly gets closer to the TV while the room gets darker and darker.

something wonderful about this vid is that it imitates the style of gaming history videos that are popular now adays, setting it apart from Petscop. It even mimes how many of them would do sudden jokes to keep the viewers attention. I'd love to see the materials like the magazine pages published somewhere to be read!

That's insane! I heard so much about this game back in the day, and I was devastated when I heard it was cancelled. I can't believe you found a genuine copy!
I just realized something. When the developer said "the player is gone" he was referring to his son. It's like at heart he was making this game for his son, and when he died he lost all the motivation to finish it, and the grief combined with the pressure to release the game drove him insane. I honestly find this story more sad than anything. It's very well done though.

funny thing is that this is not a creepypasta video. It's actually part of an ARG, and the seller might be a character in it. The pasta setting is still really funny tho, as nowadays it's so obvious that there aren't actual people who would go out and sell whatever random strange shit they found in their attics/basements.

What’s an ARG?
@@SunGodAtomes Alternative Reality Game. It's basically a big simulated storyline you need to follow by solving out puzzles that the game makers leave for you to find. It's like playing treasure hunt on the Internet, but on a much bigger scale and with a story attached to it, and the only "map" that you are given is pieces of riddles and the clues to solve them that are scattered all around the web, waiting for you to find them.

actually, no. The creator of this game is manfred lorenz, he created this game for his daugther and other people, but suddenly he found his daugther dead after his daugther fell down the stairs. Manfreds daugther has been brought to the hospital, but sadly the doctors couldn't save her then manfreds got stressed and depressed, so he stole a computer from the office and bring his boat to the sea and drowned himself with the computer he stole.

Petscop is a classic that will be hard to top, but this has potential.
I come back to this video every now and then, even though the ARG has been "solved". I still think this is a masterclass example on how to do an ARG. Everything is SO neatly done, the setup, Adam's video, making other unknown lets play channels with Crow gameplay; everything feels natural and is set up so beautifully. Wish we can get more ARGs of this caliber and quality instead of generic trying too hard to be creepy ones.

what i genuinely find amazing about this video is that, atleast for the beggining, it is shot and edited EXACTLY like a review for an actual game, like the way he edits the swears, the graphics he shows, and even the music he uses, it PERFECTLY recreates a genuine yt channel to an impressive degree, very big props to Adam

You know what seals the deal for me? The modernized video editing. For example, when he is about to curse, he censors it to avoid being demonitized. Another thing, is the music. The music used parodies game channels, such as: SpaceHamster, PeanutButterGamer, and more. But one gripe I have, is that the voice audio in the gameplay portion is just a bit too quiet. I didn't wanna turn it up in fear for a jumpscare, but I had to turn it up after I saw the video just to hear his voice in the beginning. Other than that, I am completely immersed.

I don't know if she's quite dead as I feel like parts of the story seem to suggest that the developer somehow found a way to either keep her alive or bring her back, and it may have something to do with his "suicide". However, it may have been better for her to have stayed dead.

This is so artfully made. Here from another vid about this one that recommended I watch this first - glad I did.
I mean this as a major compliment: the least convincing thing in the entire video is Crow's wall jump, and only because it wasn't a common mechanic at the time. The aesthetic production here is basically perfect, and I don't possess enough high-fives to adequately express how impressed I am with it.

I love the detail that one of the crow's wings is white, which allows for the player to easily see which direction they're facing, which was a real thing taken to consideration when designing characters in early 3d games like Crash Bandicoot(his gloves and light colored belly patch)

It's great to see that the vision from all those old video game creepy pastas have finally started to materialize as of late with Petscop, the "Every copy is personalized" meme, and now this.

I love how creepy N64 games are becoming a trend again since I grew up with Super Mario 64.
Fun fact: the crow eyes is using the mario 64 textures eyes and some of the textures in the game is from sm64

i love that the tired tradition of cursed video game stories has been maturing lately. its gone from a bunch of edgelord kids wanting sonic to be gorey to people realizing that fake 3d virtual spaces resonate with us in a really particular way that can make for good horror, and that the tortured artist trope can be applied to game developers too.
Always been a fan of creepypasta and all that stuff, no matter how repetitive it became I just had a liking for this type of stuff. Really glad to see the amount of effort people are putting in to making these, it’s literally phenomenal.

I really believed it until he starts "playing" it, he just walked straight to the point, ANY player would be exploring all the sorrounding areas or controls before continuing playing if it really were a n64 lost game that nobody played before, then going forward looked more like an animation than a game, great backstory tho, the beggining is totally believeable, great work!

It's the term used in professional wrestling that refers to the continuance of the performance that wrestlers put on, even outside of the ring, in order to make the story more believable. Everyone knows it isn't real, but a good performance helps to sell it enough for you to be able to suspend your disbelief.

i found out about this from someone else so i already knew, but i think my bs detector wouldve went off when he used a cute little 3d model of a n64 cartridge falling in water while describing the death of a real person

You made a fake video where people playing Catastrophe Crow, you even made a fake video where the Opus Interactions showcasing the development of Catastrophe Crew, you made a fake Wikipedia page about Manfred Lorenz, you made multiple youtube channels about Catastrophe Crow that was made a few months ago before this video uploaded, and you even made the WHOLE GAME and put it on a Nintendo 64 cartridge (maybe the game was uploaded into a PC software and not into a N64 cartridge).
