    As the editor of the Mordian Glory channel, we’re also followers of your channel and I would have to say thank you for giving your insight on the competitive nature for the Bolt Action community. Our channel is dedicated to more of the thematic aspects of Bolt Action and we appreciate your own opinions on what might be the better options competitively. Cheers! 😃

    As a rookie I've taken two tanks to three games each (I've played a total of 6 games). Those tanks were the Matilda II and the Sherman II. Neither of them made anywhere close to their points value back throughout the games. Now I'm a fresh-faced beginner, with 6 games under my belt, and I know I haven't squeezed the most I can out of either. However, when you spend an entire game missing or bouncing the Sherman's main gun against a Pz 38, it becomes apparent that the nearly 200 points I spent on it were wasted. Moreover, you can take most tanks out for 57 points with a British list (Reg PIAT team in an Inex Jeep).
    The Dakka Stuart is *boring*, but it's useful. More interesting and thematic tanks are a Distraction Carnifex at best, and a waste of points at worst.

    • @kennyrobson4760
      @kennyrobson4760 Месяц назад +1

      "Making their points back", i.e., destroying their equivalent point value, isn't the only measure. While a Matilda isn't really worth it (hopefully V3 fixes this), you can still get some use from it by driving it right up in the opponent's face. This can mess up their plans even if it doesn't destroy much.

    • @leej296
      @leej296 Месяц назад +1

      @@kennyrobson4760 I agree. I think the KV2 is almost useless for its points as a damage dealer, but I can say my opponents spends most of the game throwing the kitchen sink at it, and it also put the fear of God into any infantry within its line of site. Making areas of the table a no-go zone.

    • @leej296
      @leej296 Месяц назад

      Disagree. While a good tank on paper. I find it too big of a model. Due to its size it makes a big target (hard to keep out of site) and I've seen players in built-up areas with a lot of building suffer with taking additional turns just to move around a corner because of its length. I personally field the Dakka T-26A. Yes, there is only two Machine guns, but it's cheap.

    I was a bit surprised when Mordian Glory (love his channel, and he has great things to say for the game generally) talked about the Brits taking the Cromwell when they have access to the Lend-Lease Program and can take a Sherman with the same armament, same armor, but is 10pts cheaper with Easily Catches Fire (which like never comes up in game). So I feel like if you want a proper tank that is more durable than a vulnerable light tank, you should be taking a Sherman over a Cromwell.
    Mostly agree on the rest of the choices you make here; I'm personally a bigger fan of the Ho-Ro for the Japanese, though I see why people like the Chi-Ha (I own both because they're good).

    The m15/42 is very wrong in bolt action.
    There is only 1 co-axil mmg in the turret (not 2)
    It should be a medium tank as the front armour is 50mm
    Also the 47mm should be a medium anti-tank gun as the 47mm in longer than the other M tanks which gives the shell better penetration

    Bolt Action is an infantry game with the other bits in support. 'Big' tanks like Shermans, Cromwells and T-34s rarely do much apart from firing at your opponents 'Big' tank...Bigger isn't necessarily better - remember the phrase it's not how big it is, it's how you use your army that counts :)

    Sorry really disagree with the Stuart for British. British struggle with AT in lists as don't have easy AT like Panzerfausts. Therefore a better synergy with the list is a Chappee. Medium AT gun with 2 inch template HE and RECCE. RECCE being the best defence against flamethrowers and Panzerfausts etc. AA Crusader could also be considered better than Stuart verses veteran infantry and pinning a single target.

      Consider the low point cost dynamic duo of a Type 95 Ha-Go in the tank slot, and a Type 92 Tankette in the armored car slot. At worst low cost attention getters/trouble bubbles, at best, fast attack vehicles to harass the flanks and get to the rear to kill mortar teams and such.
