I would say Donna’s ending was the least happy out of what Blind Wave have seen. Sure she was a millionaire and married but she lost all her memories of the Doctor and what she had achieved travellnig space and time, and who knows if all that progression she made as a person remains after losing all those memoriesl
I still think that out of the New Who Donna is not only in my mind the only, but most tragic ending any companion has had. Rose got to live in an alternate dimesion with her mother and father, who by the way was rich. Got to marry a version of the 10th Doctor that was half human and half time lord that could grow old and pass away with her. Mickey and Martha married and both became badass agents. Jack is a tilter since he eventually passed away on New New Earth as The Face of Boe so I don't know what his life fully was like other than the fact his head was cut off by the Headless Monks from _A Good Man Goes To War_ that is how the blue guy had his time watch. Amy and Rory both yes had a crazy story, but got to live their lives together, grow old and pass away normally and peacefully. Donna who experienced many tragic events, which others had too had to have her mind erased because her mind couldn't handle the Doctor Donna. Otherwise she could die if she experienced those things too much. Donna who at first was kinda bitchy, but turned out to be really kind hearted, who unfortunately was forced to be bitchy again.
Please don't forget to react to "The Last Day - Minisode", "Night of the Doctor - Minisode" and "An Adventure in Time and Space - TV Movie" after you've watched 7x13, they're must-see before you watch the 50th Anniversary special!!
The entirety of Doctor Who is must-see before the Anniversary special if they want to get every reference lol. I know they saw the 8th Doctor's movie, but have they met all 7 classic Doctors yet?
Hopefully they do the P.S. short, the animated short where Rory sends a letter to his dad telling him what happened. Would really want to see their reactions to it.
Damn I cried again😭 I love this episode so much. It was so so beautiful. Amy and Rory are, and will always be my favourite companions. Every time I watch this I cry. It was so emotional; from the scene where they jump of the building to when they get taken by the angel to Amelia's afterword😭 The scene where Amy is saying goodbye to the doctor and Melody was so emotional and was beautifully acted. Also the music in this episode was also absolutely beautiful and went so well with the heart wrenching moments. It is, to me, the most emotional scene in the whole of doctor who. It's really sad but I'm really happy that Amy and Rory got to live together😢 Goodbye Amelia and Rory😭😭😭
Apparently, when Matt Smith was reading Amy's letter, Karen Gillan was just next to him and reading it aloud. When the director called "Cut!", he started to cry. Also, for 1:55: _Production errors_ _The money that mob boss Julius Grayle gives to detective Sam Garner are modern U.S. currency. If this took place in 1938, these bills would either be silver certificates (black and blue ink) or U.S. Notes, which have black and red ink. The bills shown have the modern green ink design._
Rory dies of old age: WHAMMY, but we get a reprieve when they decide to paradox it. Rory and Amy jump off the building: DOUBLE WHAMMY! We don't know if it will work and if she'll be alright. Phew! They're fine... TRIPLE WHAMMY! Rory is gone forever just like that! Amy goes to him - QUADRUPLE WHAMMY!
I think there's an episode coming, Eric, that will absolutely hype you up as much as that big crossover. Maybe not as many people, but trust me... there's hype coming.
I think the Statue of Liberty as an Angel is one of those things that's very cool, but should not be thought about too much. Because there is no way no one would notice her standing anywhere else than where she is supposed to be. And as soon as someone noticed that, she would never be unwatched.
For anyone interested, there's an audiobook based on this episode. I think it is set before the episode. It is read by the actress that plays River. I think it is called, "The Angel's Kiss".
Aaron talked about the 2 year break where they had two Christmas Specials in a row so many times in this reaction series, and it's always followed by Eric's exact same response "Uh, ok" This happened like 5 times up until now lmao
Probably a question for Lono since we getting pretty close now but when we get to the 50th anniversary any chance there would be a way to censor the opening credits so we don't get those spoilers?
I love how in the beginning we hear about Amelias imginary friend many times and we assume she just creates dolls and pretends to play with the Doctor aside from the 2 or 3 visits we first see. But now after time resets for the nth time we see at the end that Amy tells the Doctor to go visit and play with the little girl who waited :,) ( thats what i assume he is doing now on the offscreen moments, going to visit little amelia pond )
She also said that she had to go to a phsychologist/therapist because she believed so strongly in him and no one else ever saw him. Eventually she gave in and believed it was all imaginary visits in her head by the time the doctor comes back between the preseason and episode 1.
And ya know? Funny enough I just rewatched the Eleventh Hour last night. After the doctor runs off in the TARDIS (after getting rid of the atraxi) we see Amy looking devastated as she watches it vanish. Then we cut to that shot they use. “This is the story of Amelia Pond. And this is how it ends” Amelia in the garden, listening to the TARDIS coming back for her. It’s the same exact shot, without the voice-over from Amy. The Amy wakes up, hearing the TARDIS in the garden after her two years waiting for him to come back again (quick trip to the moon my butt!) and you think she was just dreaming it. I agree with you. She wasn’t. He came back to Amelia. Maybe she didn’t remember. Maybe she decided it was in her head. But I think he went to that little girl to help her wait.
Two things. 1. I think reading something makes it more of a personal fixed point because it makes it a part of your personal timeline and altering your personal timeline is a paradox. 2. You can't risk just pick up Amy and Rory a year later in another state. They have to die at a certain time and place, and the risk of creating another paradox and killing millions of people if one/both of them died or was lost in the interim is too great. Even if they never took the risk of going on another adventure, Rory could get hit by a car on the way to the store, and suddenly bye-bye big apple. With that many lives on the line it would be too big a risk.
The "once you've read it" thing is about interacting with your own timeline. Reading about something that happens to you can't lead you to change those events or it would create a paradox. Creating paradoxes takes a huge amount of energy so the universe will compensate in small ways to prevent it.
The fixed point thing of “once you read it its fixed” is about the stuff in your own future not about past events. If you read things and know things about your own future than that becomes fixed. That is what the doctor explained to Amy when she read the book.
SweenyTodd98 you can work out when they ended up. Rory is 31 as of Dinosaurs in A Spaceship... and they were sent back 51 years prior to 2020... which is 1969... so they arrived, possibly, very close to 10 and Martha, who were ALSO there in 1969.
... "Hey Rory, look: That skinny guy getting struck by lightening on the top of the Empire State building is wearing the exact same shoes and tie the Doctor had on the day we met him... Omg, he's got the same screwdriver, too!" "Are you sure you still need glasses?"
"Raggedy man." Oh man, this episode.. bitter sweet. Great thoughts on Angels vs statues, Amy and Rorys citizenship... my headcanon is that the Tardis foresaw it all and gave them help in some way. ❤
I actually watched the ending scene of this episode while sitting on the actual bench Matt Smith was sitting on in Central Park. It’s not that hard to figure it out if you look closely at the background of the shot
Just become a Patron. For this show mainly and I have seen all of Doctor Who. This one I hate going back to sometimes. Its not bad. Just too emotional but am glad for what is coming. The Christmas special is next. :D
I mean honestly, if Amy and Rory were to die traveling with the Doctor - this would be the best way possible. THey get to live out their lives together, in love and with each other y'know? I don't want them to go - i never want character to go - but this is the best way possible for them to die. Doesn't make me any happier but eh, it's worth something.
@@dwilborn1257 For me, it's gonna be getting through Series 8 & 9 Clara. 9 months of bitchy Clara. Obviously if you like her, good on ya, but me... Oh, dear God, it's gonna be loads of fun.
Rory had a great storyline. Love Rory! No one noticed Amy’s name on the gravestone? This completes the arc....Amelia became Amy, the girl who ran from her wedding, to the girl who loved Rory and became Amelia Williams. I like to think River stayed in touch with her parents, and maybe brought Brian back in time to see them (Amy’s parents too, if they are still alive). I also expect River might have gotten false 1930s documents for her parents. I think the Angels can take over or possess any statue, though the Angels do have a natural form. I think the whole “if you read it, it can’t change” is silly. But rule 1: the doctor lies. So he may have explained it inaccurately just to simplify what’s happening. I think HE can’t ever go back to NY with the TARDIS due to damage in time. There is too much paradox with those 3 people.
Ya'll got to watch the cut special short called P.S. It was supposed to a short scene after this episode but it was never actually done, but the storyboard was completed and there is a great video showing what could have been
Ahh every time I see this it gets me. I love the behind the scenes of this episode. Amy was actually sitting beside the doctor when she was reading the page at the end since they only had a few shots. Ahh I miss these moments. The new stuff just isn't the same.
Feels like blind wave never understood to appreciate Donna. The character progression she goes through, the heartbreaking moment where the doctor decides her fate for her even after she's begs no. I could go on about Donna all day but if blind wave appreciates this upcoming companion. I don't know what else to say. She is legit bossier, more demanding than Donna but on an annoying level where as Donna's were funny and appropriate. This new companion gets away with everything because the doctor let's her have her way. It's like watching her as the main character and the doctor is just the companion. No, actually the show was indeed completely centered around her.
18:27 -- remember... the Angels are _abstract beings_ . They aren't actually "statues", but wholly abstract entities who manifest into the physical universe (as we perceive it) via their conceptual "images". As they usurp power in the physical universe, they manifest in different ways. Example: the "babies" aren't *babies* -- they're just "new" essences manifesting through the concept-image of the "baby cherubs", the same way they manifested through the woman and the boy (the power allowing them to manifest via new concept-images). Further, as they usurp more and more power/influence, they become more and more "accepted" as an essential part of the foundation of Reality(tm), as we perceive; nobody normally "notices" the Statue of Liberty moving because the Angels usurped the power-imagery of both it and the essence it represents vis-a-vis New York city. That reality, however, is occluded along the timetracks of history "now" -- having experienced it, the Doctor can't "get there from here" anymore. Were he to try to interact with Amy/Rory at "x" point along their/his timeline(s), he will simply always fail. He goes to New York and >insert episode/story here, where one thing leads to another and he winds up somewhere else
It's been said before, but I don't think we can emphasize it enough, but please watch "P.S." (a short animation of a never-shot-scene). It's one of the reasons I have hope for Chibnall's future writing
The Statue of Liberty has a perception filter over it so the angel couldn’t be seen, but it doesn’t make since all angels are stone, but the Statue of Liberty is made of copper and turned green from oxidisation.
After this episode there was a christmas speacial like Aaron said, then part 2 of series 7 came in 2013 as part of the 50th anniversary year. Welcome back run u clever boy and remember.

The eleventh chapter was the best according to Clara.
Gotta give props to Aaron for always consistenly giving us great poker faces to avoid spoilers
And so do the snowmen cometh.
As well as The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot
And after watch the 5(ish) Doctors
The entirety of Doctor Who is must-see before the Anniversary special if they want to get every reference lol. I know they saw the 8th Doctor's movie, but have they met all 7 classic Doctors yet?
Aaron's been pretty good about those so far
@@hiccuphufflepuff176 They've only seen The Five Doctors and the movie. And Calvin has seen some Tom Baker episodes.
PLEASE watch "Doctor Who: P.S. - Series 7 2012 - BBC One" deleted scene video
Never knew that existed. I cried. thank you.
It wasn't a deleted scene since it was never filmed.
They did, it'll probably be released in a week.
Hopefully they do the P.S. short, the animated short where Rory sends a letter to his dad telling him what happened. Would really want to see their reactions to it.
This will always be my favorite companion ending. "This is the story of Amelia Pond, and this is how it ends". Just like a FAIRYTALE.
Eric: "What is this Gotham?!"
Yes its New York, litterally Gotham.
Is it sad that I spent the last 20 minutes refreshing my browser waiting for this reaction? Love Doctor Who day.
Morrolan So did I...and I’m meant to be working!
Yes it is
Damn I cried again😭 I love this episode so much.
This episode destroys me everytime I watch it. From the roof top to the graveyard and to the last page, it always makes me cry. Shew. Good reaction.
Apparently, when Matt Smith was reading Amy's letter, Karen Gillan was just next to him and reading it aloud. When the director called "Cut!", he started to cry.
Also, for 1:55:
_Production errors_
_The money that mob boss Julius Grayle gives to detective Sam Garner are modern U.S. currency. If this took place in 1938, these bills would either be silver certificates (black and blue ink) or U.S. Notes, which have black and red ink. The bills shown have the modern green ink design._
Ha ha ha ha I’m so evil I made people think they were safe at the end
Rory dies of old age: WHAMMY, but we get a reprieve when they decide to paradox it.
Rory and Amy jump off the building: DOUBLE WHAMMY! We don't know if it will work and if she'll be alright.
Phew! They're fine... TRIPLE WHAMMY! Rory is gone forever just like that!
Amy goes to him - QUADRUPLE WHAMMY!
Y U kill all the companion?
It’s not evil if you just say you’re subverting expectations.
Wanna come back and write again for series 12?
Crystal D.
Ah! Now you've made me visualise & wish for it.
I think there's an episode coming, Eric, that will absolutely hype you up as much as that big crossover. Maybe not as many people, but trust me... there's hype coming.
Amin to that!
I think Shane may be a fan of the next companion.
Aidan's Channel I'm assuming that cause something about her rhymes with "tig bass biddies"
@@HowardTheDucksWong definitely part of it
Too bad she dies and is only in one episode.
Hiccup Hufflepuff Ahh, yes. Totally forgot. What a great one-off companion
I think they'll like her for series 7 but if they're anything like me, they'll grow to hate her.
I think the Statue of Liberty as an Angel is one of those things that's very cool, but should not be thought about too much. Because there is no way no one would notice her standing anywhere else than where she is supposed to be. And as soon as someone noticed that, she would never be unwatched.
and angels are supposed to turn to stone....Liberty is iron frame with copper skin
SPQR stands for "Senātus Populusque Rōmānus" or "The Senate and People of Rome". It was the motto of the roman republic.
@gary jones It is the Eternal City.
For anyone interested, there's an audiobook based on this episode. I think it is set before the episode. It is read by the actress that plays River. I think it is called, "The Angel's Kiss".
Aaron talked about the 2 year break where they had two Christmas Specials in a row so many times in this reaction series, and it's always followed by Eric's exact same response "Uh, ok"
This happened like 5 times up until now lmao
Probably a question for Lono since we getting pretty close now but when we get to the 50th anniversary any chance there would be a way to censor the opening credits so we don't get those spoilers?
He answered it in another video, and he's already done it.
@@coladict ah that's good to know then now to wait 10 weeks
I assume you mean the billy pipper credit?
@@galonski64 and the certain other credit
Yeah, sesskasays saw a version with censored credits.
Aaron Burton I hadn’t even thought about that! So sweet!
Problem is that this would conflict with Amy saying that she had to wait 12 years for him to come back in her first episode.
And this is how it ends”
Amelia in the garden, listening to the TARDIS coming back for her.
I’ve seen this episode I don’t know how many times, but it still makes me cry so much
Don't forget the P.S. minisode before the Christmas special.
can we just say how rory is pretty much older then the doctor mentally since he waited 2000years
Two things.
Brilliant episode
The show switches after this a whole different vibe lol
Same as after end of time
The fixed point thing of “once you read it its fixed” is about the stuff in your own future not about past events. If you read things and know things about your own future than that becomes fixed. That is what the doctor explained to Amy when she read the book.
In my head canon Amy And Rory was taken back in time to the same year The 10th Doctor and Martha went to New York
I don't think that's possible since the whole point was that the TARDIS couldn't travel back to that place and time
SweenyTodd98 you can work out when they ended up.
Rory is 31 as of Dinosaurs in A Spaceship... and they were sent back 51 years prior to 2020... which is 1969... so they arrived, possibly, very close to 10 and Martha, who were ALSO there in 1969.
@@Jamestopboy Ten and Martha went to New York in the 1920's for the Dalek story. 1969 with the Weeping Angels was in the U.K.
...
"Hey Rory, look: That skinny guy getting struck by lightening on the top of the Empire State building is wearing the exact same shoes and tie the Doctor had on the day we met him... Omg, he's got the same screwdriver, too!"
"Are you sure you still need glasses?"
In fact, looking it up, *Angels* occurs in 2012... so jump back 51 years and you get 1961.
"Raggedy man." Oh man, this episode.. bitter sweet. Great thoughts on Angels vs statues, Amy and Rorys citizenship... my headcanon is that the Tardis foresaw it all and gave them help in some way. ❤
Hopefully Aaron now shows the guys the WHO minisode "PS".
Someone from patreon supportets said they already did!
I knew this episode was coming up and I still cried. This episode will always make me tear up TT__TT
I'M NOT CRYING! YOU'RE CRYING!
YES I AM!!
Oh I can't wait to see your reaction to Hell Bent. That episode is a real mind trip. But alas that's a long time away.
The Doctor was so upset he forgot about The Weeping Angel in The Cemetery
we read that grave stone 1st O_O . Its funny that it only hit me now after rewatching with you guys
"I hate endings"
Meanwhile
"Everything has it's time and everything dies"
*flesh explosion*
I knew this episode was coming.. Been waiting for your ractions. Sorry for your loss boyyyys
Every time I watch this episode... I cry... this time was no different. God what a beautiful send off...
There is a video with Rorys Voice, a last Message for his Father... THAT broke my heart.
Also: Amelia Williams, remember that name
When Aaron know things before the rest of blindwave crew does. The mischievous/playful look on his face, lol. 3:47. Trickster.
*looks at thumbnail
*sees sheer desolation
This is gonna be good.
Calvin "I'd set fire to myself, they can't get you when you're on fire", lol.
CAN'T WAIT FOR THE ANNIVERSARY EPISODE
Got to get through early Clara though...
@@dwilborn1257 For me, it's gonna be getting through Series 8 & 9 Clara.
9 months of bitchy Clara. Obviously if you like her, good on ya, but me...
Oh, dear God, it's gonna be loads of fun.
The NYC in this era became time-locked, just like most of the Time War became, where people couldn't travel in or out of it.
One more thing...watch the classic ep “The Aztecs” if you want more on changing history
What an emotional gut punch of an ending!
30:20 well....
Hype
Its going to be time for my favorite companion to show up next!
7:00 love that Aaron laugh 🤣
every time it has been years since i first watch this episode and every time it gets me crying
There it is boys. No coming back from that. I remember being pissed, I loved Amy
Ahh i wait for this reaction episode so long! Was so good ending for the ponds! Even Aaron watched it before his reaction was exactly as mine.
He goes to New York and >insert episode/story here, where one thing leads to another and he winds up somewhere else
seeing a weeping angle smile at them really was the scariest thing to me when i watched this live
Goodbye Pond😢
10:06 Fast forward to Calvin pushing Eric on bad tile in their home-made version of Squid Game
After this episode there was a christmas speacial like Aaron said, then part 2 of series 7 came in 2013 as part of the 50th anniversary year. Welcome back run u clever boy and remember.
I was waiting for this since I started watching you, guys!!!
First thing I did this morning was go to watch this! I’ve been waiting so long!
2:50 yes. Gotham is an old name for New York.
