Some minor clarifications! Marina calls out Acht hitting on Pearl in front of HER, since, well, you'd be miffed if someone had the gall to flirt with your partner directly in front of you. And Heavy Splatling for Octavio is because of his heavy reliance on machinery. Post Turf War, he drifted much more into mechanical engineering and his machines, so of course it would follow that he would use a heavily engineered weapon designed for battle, rather than an artistic tool for combat up close and personal
Yeah, I guess that's the only interpretation that really makes sense for the Marina thing. I think it just confused me because that would imply she's fine with people flirting with Pearl as long as she's not there lol. Probably just a case of her not wanting to sound too confrontational.
Sheldon with the Heavy Splatling also kinda makes sense just as well as Octavio with the Octobrush, at least in the S3 shop it's very proudly displayed iirc. Plus the little guy+big gun dynamic fits pretty well for the weapons nerd.
One detail I just love about the "Lights Out" modifier is how the Jelletons glow in the dark when they get close! It almost feels like a nod to the "nostalgia" asthetic of Octo Expansion, a hallmark to those finicky plastics that never quite were as luminous as advertised. (It also just looks cool to see them glowing green instead of their stark monochrome...) Nowadays, everyone just uses LEDs and/or the RGB lighting from their myriad of electronics... Others here have said why the Splatling suits Octavio, but I'd also include that it seems to align with his design philosophies in all of his Octobot King models. They all focus on huge, heavy blows with those rocket punches, and they tend to not really move around unless he's adjusting his vantage point. The only one that had "rapid fire" attacks was the one he decked out for his "collab" with a mind-controlled Callie, but even then, those were more to corral you into punching range. The guy seems to enjoy administering a serious beatdown to his targets from the high ground - guy at the very least would love the Hydra, for sure. (... It *does* make me love the idea of an ancient Octo-themed Splatling to contrast the Bamboozler's homage to Cuttlefish, too...) ... And on the subject of Gay People(tm), some individuals theorize that Acht may have, at least back in the Octarian Domes, had a "highschool crush" on Marina, suggested from some of her behavior (mostly what we'll see towards the end and epilogue) and how she seems a little more than "third wheeling" whenever Pearl and Marina fuss over each other in the elevator. It's obviously not as undeniable as the pride-themed Ultra Stamp that is Pearlina, but it's definitely had the fans wondering...

It's mostly been The Power of Shippers, but at the very least, she has this... *familiarity* with Marina and seems taken back by how much she's changed, sometimes coming off as sad or uncomfortable - or at least taken back - by how different she is from how she remembers her. Kind of a "you'll see it if you look for it" kind of thing! At least that's how I'd describe it.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. It's way easier to imagine the gun guy running in with the biggest gun than swinging around a brush lol
