No, what will happen is your vehicle will die on the road due to fuel starvation. The fuel pump will suddenly stop working. The only way your battery will go dead is if you keep trying to start the vehicle until you run the battery down. If you listen carefully every time you put your key in the on position you will hear your electric fuel pump, come on for a few seconds. If you do not hear the fuel pump, come on then chances are it is the integrated fuel pump relay in the TIPM. If you had the foresight to purchase the cable and keep it in the vehicle you would install it as instructed, simply restart the vehicle and be on your way.

You either have a bad relay of a bad computer or just a glitch. To get the computer to reset itself disconnect both the negative and positive terminals from your battery. Tie them to together with a cable tie for about 10 minutes. Don't let them touch any metal on the car while you do this. Then connect the positive first then touch the negative to the negative post. if the pump does not come on you may have solved the problem. if you hear the pump come on come on then leave the negative terminal disconnected and have the car towed. It is very dangerous to drive it like that as in the event of an accident there is a chance of a fire. Thanks for contacting me I am very interested in the outcome. Please stay in touch
@@luisclement423 I would only use it only as a temporary measure to get me home or get to a repair shop. My concern is in the event of an accident the pump could possibly keep running. Thanks for the comment. I am going to review the video as I should have made that clear.
My integrated pump relay failed a few months after posting this video. I have been running the truck on this cable for about a year. I now have the external relay kit. I plan to post a video on how to install it very soon.
why does the dodge /ram have sooo many different TIPMsss!? Mine I had to refer to Dodge caravans or my primary video 2009 thru 2015 cummins which boogles my mind cause I didnt know iuf HEMI made by cummins?
hello sr, I~m sorry for my english, I´m would like to know what means "TIPM". I´m from other country, don´t have knowledge abouth this code. thank you.
Nice to hear from you. Your English is just fine. TIPM is not a code. It stands for Totally Integrated Power Module. It is a fuse box near the front of the engine compartment. Under the fuses it has a circuit board that has the relays soldered in so you cannot replace them. If a single relay fails like the fuel pump you must replace the entire box. The cable in the video was used to bypass the bad relay thus saving the expense of replacing the box. I hope this answers your question.
In that case you may not have the TIPM module. Consider yourself fortunate if you don't. If you have a fuel pump relay listed on the cover then you do not. If there is no relay listed, then you most likely have a TIPM. To determine where to attach the bypass cable, first you need to determine which fuse goes to your fuel pump. That information should be on the cover or door of your fuse box. When you find out which fuse goes to your fuel pump go ahead and remove it. Then you should see a number of unused fuse receptacles within the fuse box. Using a test light, test the available receptacles until you find one that only supplies power when the key is turned on. Using your bypass cable connect those to receptacles together.
If you do the truck may stop running. The purpose is to get you home or to a repair shop. With it connected your fuel pump will be running whenever your key is turned on and will turn off when you turn the key off. Without the cable the fuel pump will be controlled by the vehicle's computer if everything is functioning properly. The cable is for when things are not functioning properly.
Thanks for the question Farkas; I apologize for not making that clear in the video. This bypass cable should only be used temporarily for emergency use only. I suggest just using it only to get you home or to a repair shop. My concern is the vehicles computer is programed shut off the flow of fuel in the event of an accident thus greatly reducing the possibility of a fire. With this bypass cable connected the only way to stop the flow of fuel is to turn off the key. In the event of a crash the operator may well become incapacitated and not be able to do so putting himself and first responders at risk. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching.
It is a big problem that cost big bucks and there most certainly is financial gain. I have been running my truck on this cable for more than a year now. The alternative is to hand my local dealership nearly $2000. I need the dealership to program the TIPM even if I replaced it myself and at least my local dodge dealer claims they will refuse to touch the truck for liability reasons if I do indeed replace the part myself.
Thanks for the question, Ernest. I thought I had explained it pretty well in the video but evidently not well enough. First you need to determine which fuse goes to your fuel pump.
I am very sorry I have taken so long to reply. Yes indeed, if hooked up as shown in the video when your key is off the fuel pump is off. A few months after posting the video the integrated fuel pump relay actually failed and I installed the bypass cable. I have been running the truck that way for about 6 months, I have purchased an external relay kit but have not as of yet got around to installing it. I plan to make a video when I do. The danger as I see it is if you get in a crash the pump will continue to operate if you are not able to turn the key off. However most modern vehicles automatically cut all power on impact.
Thanks for the question gary; The short answer is I do not know. The bypass cable in the video is for a specific purpose to be used in an emergency situation only. It is just to get you off the road and is by no means intended to be a long-term solution. It is not a good practice to go around by-passing relays as I would not recommend it. Thank you for watching my channel.
Thanks Joe. Not being there I don't know why it will not fit. If you ordered the exact cable and you do indeed have a ram it should work. Perhaps you could elaborate a little more. Just stating it does not fit does not tell me a lot.
Yes, it is just a temporary fix to get you off the road or to a repair shop. The concern is if you are in an accident, and you are unable to turn off the key the pump may continue to run.
If I understand you correctly you are saying power is going to the pump, but you still have no fuel pressure? Or power is going to the pump, but the vehicle will not start? It makes a difference. It is difficult to diagnose a problem from afar. Need more information.
I have been running that bypass cable in the truck in the video for more than a year now. Perhaps you don't have it hooked up correctly. Or it is some other problem with your vehicle. Could be the fuel pump itself has failed and not the relay?
Thanks for making videos like this. Fixed my truck.
Thanks for the kind words Mike d. Keep in mind this should only be considered a temporary repair until such time as you can get the TIPM replaced.
Thank you sir, have a blessed day América
I installed this cable as a temporary repair. I have been running the truck with it for more than a year now. LOL

From what I see you won’t know you need this until after your battery is dead so wouldn’t you need a tow or a jump to get started?

Guess the reason why these auto makers make these simple issues so difficult is primarily for financial gain.
