Beautiful design and fabulous work! Love your tutorials ❤ I made a quilt top for my brother and used a purchased nice fleece for the backer, no batting. I got that idea from one of your earlier videos. He absolutely loves that blanket over any other! He brought it to the hospital when he had his kidney transplant as he said it was the only blanket that would drape softly against his body to keep warm. ❤ He is now requesting ANOTHER but larger blanket just like what i made him. Got some nice fleece blankets on clearance and ready to go! Thank you for all your awesome videos ! Love your honesty and down to earth comments! God bless! ❤

Lower your ruler foot to your quilt. Ensure there is the thickness of a dime between the foot and your quilt. You can free motion as well at this height.
To use the ruler you showed properly. It is a quarter inch from the edge of the ruler to your needle. The nub at each end is 1/4” out as well. So placing the end of your nub where you want your stitches keeps your sewing aligned perfectly. You can easily channel quilt. Love this pattern.

Cute quilt! I think you’ll wait to present your quilt to Josie 😍 I made an I spy quilt for my 6 yr old grandson for Christmas and I waited to bless him with it and he LOVED IT! It was so pleasing to see the happiness all over his face and he could hardly contain himself he was smiles and grins all over the place 😁 and I made a Santa pillow case to go along with the quilt. Later that evening my son sent me a picture with him all cuddled up in it on the floor with his Santa covered pillow as he was falling asleep 😴 so sweet! I sewed his name on the back of the quilt with the binding fabric and he was ecstatic that his name was on there! He even read my label to me without hesitation 🥰👏🏼 My grandson is always hot too so all I put in the middle of his quilt was a cotton flannel and it wasn’t too hard. Josie will love her quilt! What a nice design she’ll love you for it! 💞💞💞 BTW I’m usually a hand stitch binding but I machine stitched my grandsons quilt 😉

Such a sweet quilt for your little cutie pie! She’s sure to love it! ❤️
To answer your question, I love making and attaching the binding to each quilt, and it’s always totally by machine. No hand stitching for me! My quilts are always gifts for others, never for entering in shows. I have severe carpal tunnel syndrome, so my hands fall asleep quite easily when holding anything. I don’t think my hand stitching would look very good as a result.
I love watching you FMQ on your Juki! I have the exact same setup as you, except I rigged up my suspension system a little differently. I don’t have a wall behind my machine like you do, so I use a couple of bent plant hangars that clamp onto each side of my table. I attached
mini bungee cords and huge plastic clothespins hanging down from each one. The clothespins attach to my quilt to the sides and just behind my Juki and elevate the quilt to eliminate drag while I FMQ. I make mostly queen and king sized quilts, and this setup works well for me.
Keep those videos comin’…you’re an inspiration!

That's an intriguing idea to add a knob of some sort to a quilting ruler. I have your video playing while I am quilting on my Sweet 16 with a similar ruler. The knob would need to be repositionable, but I wonder if that would help with holding the ruler better in place. You got me thinking! Let us know if you find something that works!
Also, I highly recommend plastering the back of all your quilting rulers with Handi Grip. The "grit" of the adhesive strips truly helps the ruler grip to the fabric. (I even have left a written note in my ruler drawer: "If your ruler keeps slipping, add more Handi Grip!")
    Darling quilt!

A follow up...I picked up a 2.25 inch mini suction cup from Harbor Freight today, which is meant for pulling out car dents, and was less than $3. Locked it on my quilting ruler, and it did make a difference! I quilted 36 blocks without the handle and have now done 6 with the handle. It's not perfect, but it definitely helped. So glad you commented on this in your video!

My son’s birthday is the 13th. He will be 23. I don’t know if he would like a quilt like this though. It is very pretty Tracy. I like it a lot.

Mayb u cd put some of those silicone grips on the ruler so u won’t have to worry about it slipping when u sew against it.

Use a pop socket that people use on the back of their cell phones to hold your ruler in place.
