What a fantastic video have a wonderful day ❤😊
The Cult - Electric, Ramones - Rocket to Russia, Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast, Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger, Sepultura - Beneath the Remains, The Cure - Faith, Stone Temple Pilots - Tiny Music... Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop… just to name a few…
Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet is a great third album..
I would count David Bowie's Hunky Dory as his third album.. That's great.a well.... So many others. Great vid guys. Interesting topic...
that record you have hanging up behind you (...And Out Come The Wolves)
I’ll agree on Master Of Puppets. A pivotal album for me. Being 15 when it came out. Seeing them on that tour. Very important in my musical life.
As for some of my favorite third albums:
Ministry-The Land Of Rape And Honey
Iron Maiden-The Number Of The Beast
Faith No More-The Real Thing
Slift-Ilion
Slayer-Reign In Blood
Kiss-Hotter Than Hell (Yes, the production is garbage. But, that’s the charm of it)
Anthrax-Among The Living
Beastie Boys-Check Your Head
The list goes on and on of course
Can't believe you didn't go with Rancid-and out come the wolves
Dirty Mind by Prince, War by U2, and Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden are all preceded by albums I like, but are the album that began to uniquely define the artists. Women and Children First by Van Halen and Led Zeppelin III are my favorite albums from those bands because it sounds like they had freedom to play anything and have fun and I hear the joy and variety. I hear a similar freedom to do anything from my favorite album, The Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness, with so many songs and with so many different sounds.
I could make the argument that 'Stranded' - Roxy Music qualifies..
I think Eno thought that was exactly how the band should sound.
Country Life is an astonishing follow up.
The ultimate 3rd album was The Yes Album. That established their identity as the leaders of prog rock, was the first album in their golden age and kept them signed with Atlantic
'Quiet Life' - Japan.
Found their groove.
Iggy & The Stooges - Raw Power
Shellac - 1000 Hurts
The Melvins - Bullhead
Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica
Slayer - Reign In Blood
Motörhead - Bomber
Jane's Addiction - Ritual De Lo Habitual
Jon Spencer Blues Exlposion - Orange
PJ Harvey - To Bring You My Love
Beastie Boys - Check Your Head
At The Drive-In - The Relationship Of Command
Fugazi - In On The Kill Taker
Butthole Surfers - Locust Abortion Technician
Metallica - Master Of Puppets
Human Eye - They Came From The Sky
Black Midi - Hellfire
Use Your Illusion I by Guns N' Roses is one that stands out.
offspring - smash
Tool - Lateralus
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile
Radiohead - OK Computer
Wouldn't Master of Puppets be their 4th album if you count Metal Up Your Ass?
Soft Machine - Third
duh.
How many times are you going to talk about Dookie?
Korn - Follow the Leader
Greta Van Fleet - The Battle at Garden’s Gate
