Great review. I now want a pair of these but Red Wing has this style on pause. Hopefully they’ll be producing them again soon. Thanks for the thorough review.
They're probably the comfiest Red Wings I own. But they're what gave me the most issues. I'm on my 4th pair as the other 3 had various issues including premature outsole separation and some of the nastiest wear patterns I've ever seen. The 4th pair have performed magnificently. That said, I'm not entirely sure if they would qualify as a "heritage" boot. It seems to be more of a modern interpretation for people who want the heritage look with a modern feel/construction.
Great review! Welcome back to Heritage style content! I’ve been watching that boot since it came out, but haven’t pulled the trigger on them. I’d recommend neatsfoot oil to condition them, if you’re looking to maintain that Copper R and T look.
I bought these boots and was so excited about them. But they are sooo narrow I can’t believe anyone can fit their foot in them. I don’t have a wide foot by any means and even went up a 1/2 size to get more width. I’ve worn them about a half dozen times and they still hurt my toes and outside of my foot from being too tight.
I'm a union laborer turned supervisor, these boots are perfect for that professional look but not to dressy. I can't pull myself to wear dressy shoes to my meetings so I bought these. With original Dickies and a carhart button up shirt you can't go wrong. Woman just throw themselves at you. 😁😆😉
Ya got me this time! My local Red Wing dealer will be spending some time with me soon. I want something other than my Keen hiking sandals for warm weather casual hours.
I bought a pair of these when they first came out. Look great but I was walking 3 miles a day to and from work and they wore out fast and they leaked through walking through light puddles or wet floor. I was a bit disappointed given their price point (Uk £250!)
Alright I have a huge problem. I got some of these as a gift from my wife. Then we had a loss on our family so I never put them on and other things happened. Months and months later o put them on and they were too big. What can I do to still wear them? They’re just maybe half a size too long. I was thinking maybe a thicker sock or something or even a small sock up front so my heel isn’t lifting/rubbing. I talked to the local place and they refuse to swap the size. So I’m just trying not to lose a couple hundred bucks my wife spent on the boot. Thanks for any advise.
I bought these about 2 months ago and you’re right. After about a hour they fit like a glove and only get better with wear. I wear a size 10.5 and went down to a 10 like my other Red Wings and they were perfect. I do choose to wear them in the winter and haven’t had any issues with cold feet yet and they get good traction in the snow. They kinda remind me of the Rancourt Dirigo Boot so I’m wondering if there’s a collaboration between them.
A bit late but hopefully still helpful. I usually wear a size 9.5 in normal shoes (clapped out nikes) and went a full size down when I tried them out in the stores. At a size 8.5 they are tight around the toes at first but are breaking in nicely. Id suggest trying before buying because ive seen people reccomend going anywhere from a half size to full size down.
I own a pair of these in the Briar Oil Slick and while it is comfortable right out of the box. My forefoot does tend to get tired after a long day in these. So yeah, the front part of the sole is a bit too thin imo.
@ratswordoow I guess if it's "correct" slang. Lol. Just sounds lazy. "That's another story" or "a whole other story" Nother just sounds wrong unless you're 18
Very comfortable boot even more comfortable than the weekender chelsea boot. Got a size 11 which is the size i wear in sneakers, fits perfect. These are one boots u dont have to go a half size down
OK lOOks Good but? what do you do after 3/4 months when they stretch and now your foot slips? Same as iron rangers. If you have money to burn? and demand Looks? buy them Red wing sales people should start being honest.
Good review. This one looks like the marketing department designed what they thought would sell. To me, this is an abortion, not a serious effort, pandering; beneath any dignity, beneath even minimum dignity. Hope this is serious contender Blessings, Pastor John Loyal Golv
Looks like a Lacrosse hunting boot from the 90's to early 00's. But it's too short, overpriced and not made in Wisconsin. Would be nice if it were a huntin boot for a white boy looking to do his thing gettin in the mud.
Outside toe area of the left boot looks kinda funky like it got pinched during stitching. The edge of the sole looks like it's been pulled up.

I like the canvas section. Gives them kickers a very cool djungle esque look.
Wear mine every day! Love them! I went to go buy a new pair and was sad to see they discontinued them.
I like the soundtrack

First when I saw them on the red wing site. I was sceptical, but the more I saw them the more I started to like them. Gonna get me a pair soon 😊

Cool moc boots, gottem today, look and feel great!
Where can you buy these
Very nice looking boot I have seen my next pair of boots thank you for that great review
Really interested in these, how does the sizing compare to iron rangers?
Is that mean that we can not wear them in winter time?
These boots fit your ankles well! Mine are somewhat skinny too, so I now know these would fit me perfectly 👌🏼
Love the content , I feel like with your look and vibe the background shouldn't be more rustic. Just a thought.
The best heritage boots I’ve ever seen! But red wing japan doesn’t sell these boots damn it

Is the Red Wing JCrew boot much different from this?
I live in a tropical country and i think i already found the right RedWing for me.
Nice looking boot. Wish it had speed laces up top though. Getting older and belly getting bigger. I really appreciate speed laces now more than ever.
Great looking boots

Are these only in the red wing stores or online also?
Who cares what they look like.. What they feel like is all that matters.
Are they true to size, brannock device size or 1/2 size down

Either love em or hate em. Personally, I hate em.
Same. They just don't look right. Too narrow in the toe and looks like they are missing most of the sole thickness. Pass.
Looks like some Russell Moccasins
Are these made in Maine or Minnesota??
These are made in Minnesota but the ones your thinking about are the 9155’s and it’s a hand stitched Moc Toe shoe.
@@JJ-lu6mg ah ok thanks!
Looking pretty thin at the sole in the front. Not sure how I feel about it honestly.

I think it gives it a “dressed up” work boot look.
Video OK.
"Nother" is not a word!
It is in Chicago.

The wax cotton should be treated with the products the English company Barbour uses on all of their wax cotton canvas line.
This Red Wing boot is not welted it is a stitched down construction
how about olive oil
It would go rancid, i assume you mean to put on the leather?
Great camera work, we are looking up your hairy nose the entire time lol.

Agreed

I do not like the sole. It's hard, lack of traction.

I've worn them every day for 3.5 years and they're still going strong.😊
Sorry, I had to. Drives me nuts.
Sounds like a “you” problem.
