Remarkable that you do art with shoes. Can’t wait to get a pair and send them with free creative expression. Keep up the great work. It really is one on the best RUclips channel’s.
I love what you're doing here! I just found your channel a few days ago. The quality of work you guys put into the boots, video editing, and staging is awesome. Too many channels end up playing to the camera and lose their authenticity. I think you guys are doing it right!
What a great video! Love every detail of the presentation, process and time piece tribute. So well done across the board. Outstanding craftsmanship on all accounts, thanks!
One hell of a classy pair of Red Wings! It's nice seeing a pair so custom. My grandpa bought me a pair of Red Wings yrs ago. I didn't understand what I had back then. Just a comfortable pair of boots. Man I wish I kept them! Smdh.
Not a fan of the lace colour match, but other than that these are possibly the best looking red wings I've ever seen. You're cobbling is pure genius my friend.
Now it makes you to not use the boot and display it upside down. Awesome awesome work! Both Craftmanship and Cinematography damn even the location and clothing is on point! New fave boot channel.
As always...a true masterpiece. I'm going to send you guys a pair of NOS caterpillar GYW monkey boots from the 1990s to get completely recruited. I'm just watching your videos for ideas.
I've made up my mind that I will be sending all my boots and shoes to these guys when they're in need of a resole. The fact that you're NC based makes it even better as I have roots there. At this point though I just need to wait for the soles to wear out first
Very artistic, elegant, and precise craftsmanship. Although I think the laces ruined the final outcome, it's like them and the soles are from 2 different worlds.
Times have changed… I’m only 39 yrs old, but Im old enough to say every single men in the US should joint your channel, we definitely need more bravery( masculinity) around. Awesome work congrats
Looks great! Not sure if it’s possible but I was hoping you’d burnish the bottom of them with the whisky and an oak stick! That would really have been incorporating the whisky into the shoe 😀
You have an awesome and great video. The whole theme was pretty ingenious. Also what were some of the names of the songs you had featured. Or what type of music. I think the music you had with the Visio was really good it went nice. Best wishes Robert
@@WyattDadCobblerCompany would it be possible to make the width more narrow? I love the iron rangers but they only go down to a D. I am basically a C and once they break in I end up adding a false tongue and extra layer of veg tan inside to tighten them up.
We don’t offer that service because it requires relasting the boots. We don’t carry those types of last’s. It wouldn’t be an accurate resize without those.
@@WyattDadCobblerCompany that’s understandable. As soon as I wear out the soles I’ll look you up for something similar to those, with a different twist. Lol
We can replace the original inner sole with a much thicker leather inner sole. That would take up some room to reduce volume in the boots. Similar to you adding an additional layer, but built into the boots.
How did you stitch the welt onto the boot in the rear section if you didn't add gemming? Doesn't a welt usually attach by going through the gemming? Do you just stitch the welt directly through the leather on upper on the rear section or did the gemming go around the whole boot already? Nice video 🙂
The purpose of the gemming is to hold the inner sole to the upper. The boot was originally designed with a heel seat/rand. The upper is attached to the inner sole for that design. Gimming was not necessary since we didn’t change the design of the boots.
With gorgeous soles like that, how could you bring yourself to walk outdoors in your boots ever again? I'd wanna roll a carpet out in front of me everywhere I went just to preserve that great work.
It’s called a Triumph toe plate. They are used by people that drag their toe during their gait cycle. It prevents premature toe wear so they can get full use of the rest of the soles.
🤔 so I have two pair of Red Wing Heritage boots. In both pair the leather footbed is all cracked. I have had many different heritage style boots and have ONLY ever experienced this with RWHeritage. I felt like I did a pretty regular job of letting ‘em dry and even used shoe trees, at one point I pulled the trees out on a pair and it had mold growing on the end of it. But what I’m seeing here is all that can be replaced… 🤔
Correct, we can replace the footbeds (inner soles) when new soles are done. Another thing you can do on future boots, is to use conditioner on the inside 4-6 times a year. That will retard the cracking.
You American cobblers have it down to a fine art. I bought a pair of those Iron Rangers here in Dublin Ireland. My concern is what to do when the time comes for a resole. I don't trust the cobblers here as I've seen some really sloppy work ( old welt stitching sticking out all around the welt like eye - lashes ect 🙄 )
Check out this guy. He is in Ireland and has a good reputation among cobblers instagram.com/reel/CguKUS8lWPA/?igsh=MXVxaW1jOXd5d3A0bQ== We also know a good cobbler in the UK, if that is not trouble to use for mail in. The past couple years i been thinking of getting red wings...... really like the iron ranger but have really taken to the blacksmiths as i feel they are a more casual boot. Im just scared if i get ther blacksmith I'll wish i would have just got the iron ranger.....?
Might be a silly question but it's a genuine one....why does nobody ever do a 360 welt on a ranger when breaking them down this far? Is it purely to maintain the narrow heel original look?
I did a 360 conversion in this video. ruclips.net/video/JCdPFqqnpMw/видео.htmlsi=Whk0mT8ZQ8FN2hZ0 We have done lots of them for customers on Iron Rangers

Agree, a compliment from such reputable boot maker says a lot. Congrats, you guys just got a new subscriber
Production quality and workmanship are incredible!
These boots turned out great!
That was very creative, congrats
Educational and entertaining. Good to know that there are skilled cobblers in my area. I know where I am going to take my Iron Rangers for a resole.
The amount of effort put into the video quality here is mind boggling for a cobbler channel. The gold standard. Thank you, sincerely.
Thanks! We are glad you noticed that our videos aren’t just a camera on a tripod.
Best video, story, recreating human interest to me. Pure entertainment, thanks a heap!! 👍
Fantastic work sir.
This has truly peaked my interest to resole my Iron Rangers. Keep up the great work.

Great video! Fun to watch. Superb job on the boots as well! Beautiful.
Great production value
Incredible work!! Never thought to have a leather sole put on the rangers. That really dressed this man’s man boot.
Man ! You’ve nailed that mission !! It was a great pleasure to watch the video and the results ! Cheers from Austria !
Hell yeah! Toby is a savage.
Great job man.
Video/ production quality excellent, video production in semi dark room gave excellent taste.
Top notch boot maker, top notch filmmaker! A pair of these would look amazing in my collection!

A single close up of the boots in some natural light would have been amazing. Hard to really see them when the whole video is shot in sepia.
The toe box looks so sleek here or is it just the angles?
It’s mostly the angles, I guess. However, a thicker sole does change the look of the toe box.

The inner soles were loose from the gimming really bad. They probably fell out when the boots were tossed under his carport.
