I appreciate these videos so much. I live in an area full of nail “chop shops”. I can’t count how many times my friends and I have had rings of fire, burns, cuts... a nail tech filed completely through a spot on my nail plate and the skin beneath with an efile. He blamed it on me for yanking my hand away in pain. This is why I’ve spent years teaching myself to do nails. Thanks to wonderful people like you, I’m learning to create not only beautiful nails, but structurally sound nails in a safe manner. Thank you so much!
Elise Lebens-Bohn omg. Me too. I’ve never had my nails done where I didn’t experience the same thing and/or didn’t have to reshape them myself. I get asked where I get my nails done. I always tell them “the kitchen table salon”. 😂
My sister was at one of these places and the put a drill through the nail plate into the nail bed. The nail came away from the nail bed almost totally detached. I could not get her to go to a doctor. I have been doing her nails for a year and we have it healing and growing out now. She told me one of the nail techs slapped her, she said he acted like he was high. She asked to see his license but they would not produce it. Rings of fire on a client that came to me. Cheap price cheap and dangerous work. Support the good salons, go where operators treat you with respect.

I had acrylics and bi monthly fills for approximately 6 months. I decided to have them removed and I was burned and cut by my certified nail tech. To remove the excess length of the acrylics, she used an e file. She cut the nails so short that she burned or ripped the hyponychium and the tips of several fingers. After she removed the acrylics with acetone wraps, she pointed out that I had rings of fire on several fingers. The tech blamed it on me and said I had sensitive fingernails. Later, when I went home I did some research, I was stunned to find out that the damage was done by her improper use of her e file and had nothing to do with my sensitive skin and nails.. even when she did mechanical filing, she was always cutting me with the file until I bled. I’m watching the videos in the hopes of learning how to properly and safely apply gel polish to my natural nails. Thanks for your informative videos!
So sorry to hear that happened to you Amber! You are absolutely right that it's not due to "sensitive nails" it is due to improper methods. Hope my videos help you find a better option!
Thanks for saying which DIRECTION to use the efile. This is the only video I've found that tells you to put it in F if you're right handed and R if you're left handed. 7:37 and 11:13 Such important info that's left out in these tutorials. Thanks.
You made me a believer in efile . Thank you for all the time you spend teaching us. I have learned a lot from you. I went a bought a $60 efile in Amazon because this one is the one I can afford now and it did a pretty good job. So, I can’t even imagine how well it would be if I brought the one you have. This is huge for me because I love to have beautiful nails done but because of chronic illness, pain stops me from doing my nails. With the efile is a lot easier and faster. I’m so pleased with this technic that yesterday I was able to do mani and pedicure to myself the same day(before, it used to take me one week to complete a pedicure and manicure due to pain and fatigue). I was nervous and afraid of pain but everything went well. I’m so happy 😁. I did a pretty good job. One thing that I didn’t do good job was my cuticles. I was able to push and clean well my cuticles but I couldn’t exfoliated them well at all. I think my efile is not that great for that but I’m pleased with what I accomplished. Thanks a million.
This is such a fundamental video. I made the mistake of using an e-file on myself for the first time and I think I filed too much and reached my natural nail. I wish I watched your videos before doing anything! 😱 thank you Elizabeth for posting all these instructional videos. Also, you are a very good teacher!!
I’m a diy’er and the first time I used my e file I managed to bore a hole through my nail at the cuticle, I quickly learnt respect for my e file and practiced and now I use it all the time, I’m building up my bits at the minute, I’ve learnt loads from your videos, you put it across so well and informative, many thanks for your vids.
Can I just say your videos are so good! Im a student nail tech in Australia and the owner of where I do my course said to me 'There's no specific way to do e-filing, you just start anywhere'. I felt that wasnt true. I've nearly finished my course and ive been able to bridge my gap of knowledge with your efiling tutorials and now I understand about bits thanks to you! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!
Just did the best filing job I've ever done because you taught me how I was suppose to hold the e-file with my left hand! Thank you so much for these videos!
Hi Liz, i have really been enjoying this educational series. I live in regional Victoria (Australia) and it is hard to get access to good quality courses and product, i'm a stay at home Mum to a baby so these online videos have been incredibly helpful as i can not afford to commit to a course both financially and with time. I'm self taught for 3 years and these have helped me immensely on fine tuning my craft and bringing out my passion for all things nails. I wouldn't have learnt so much even if i did attend a course! (which i still hope to do in the future, especially if you ever come down to Aus!) Thank you from the bottom of my heart, truly.
Liz, congrats on another home run in the pursuit of correct nail safety & procedures❣️ Although I am a seasoned tech, I strive to keep learning. As a former educator (college level) who designed, authored and delivered a wide variety of curricula, you are a natural born teacher who could easily operate your own school. This information is so badly needed within the nail industry (in my area of North America, anyway☺️)and you have really created an excellent series that will benefit techs and DIY nail enthusiasts everywhere. How I wish this series had been available when I began my nail journey! If I wasn’t leaving the industry, I’d beg to collaborate with you! Again, many thanks. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for 2019. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. 🎄🎉
Liz another great lesson. Can you show us how to support your filing hand when e-filing on yourself? Especially when filing your non-dominant hand. Also how to position your fingers you are e-filing? I am having a really hard time when it comes to my pinky nail. I put it on the edge of my dust extractor but then the vibration feels kinda weird.
I'm super late to this learning party, and I'm super bummed there's not a reply to your comment with a video link to answer this 😢😢 I need help so badly!!
I love how passionate you are about the industry that you are willing to share your knowledge with others. I loved it when I see there is a new video. I watch your videos over and over and also when troubleshooting. Thank you for going into so much detail. You deserve more subscribers. ❤ from the UK
Thank you for your skilled, kind and patient instruction. I just got an awesome drill, but I’ve been afraid to use it. I have saved this video to watch for almost a year. It is time. You will be responsible for the courage I muster. 😁
UPDATE! I just got my e file.... Oh boy you make it look so easy!!! You are right, my first few passes I applied more pressure starting the passes. Definitely going to take practice!
I know this is two years old but I wanted to say thank you for this series. I used an e file once and totally fucked up my nail. It was definitely my fault lol I can see that now thank to you pointing out the pressure thing! You've given me the courage to try again :) Thank you
as a nail tech whom does my own fingers ... i love both left and right bits because i got to do my right hand at some point ... and yep i use forward and reverse ... i also think that having a nice efile from a good nail brand a big plus ... i had a crappy one from ebay for a long time and using the good nail brand efile its like butter coming off ... great info again excited to find out what you are doing in 2019!
Get super excited when I see your videos, free education for everyone! Thank you so much for taking the time do do these videos. You look great too as always!
Great video!! Thanks for teaching from the very beginning and being thorough. When most ppl try to teach in their videos they do it like you’ve already been doing nails and some of us like me haven’t!! Thanks!!
Thank you so much for this detailed video. I am in my 4th week of nail school and really needed these tips. I’m going to practice this tonight. I really liked your suggestion of putting that dark layer on first so you can practice getting that even layer removed.
I just found your video this evening. Thank you so much for sharing it. It is exactly what I needed to find. I recently started self study to become a nail tech and this video is an amazing resource.
I loveeee that she touches on being left handed!!!! I’m left handed and it’s difficult for people to talk about how lefties do things. Most people don’t even think about it.
Great video, can't wait to hear more behind your efile techniques along with the bits. The salon I'm in currently soaks the gel polish off in a soak bowl versus the aluminum foil and cotton technique. At first I thought it was all fine and dandy until I started having clients show signs of Onycholysis along with issues of nails curling and occasional sensitivity when it comes to the scraping removal process. I would like to stray away from the soaking form of Gel polish removal and "upgrade" to the efile but I'm incredibly nervous. I do have a tendency to be heavy handed per experience on myself and my clients say so. I'm comfortable removing gel polish off of enhancements but when it comes to the natural nail my anxiety goes through the roof. I feel this exercise will help me tremendously but, I'm sure anxiety will hit once it comes to trying it on someone other than myself and the practice hand. Will you continue to show more prepping techniques with the efile? I so look forward to the notifications of your new videos on Mondays! Thanks again, I've learned so much through your videos...it always helps to refresh on the basics no matter how long you've been doing nails.
When you mentioned focusing on being precise rather than being quick, it reminded me of an expression my karate teacher used to use all the time (modified to apply to the nail business): slow is smooth, smooth is fast, fast is money.
Thank you for this lesson I'm a very new beginner at this and because of this was and I was able to remove gel polish one layered time without getting to my nail bed thank you very much
Hey Liz. Could you do a vid, showing in more detail tips on e-filing your non dominant hand? I get so confused turning my hand and not knowing which direction the drill should be going. I would like to see you do many more techniques and share some more advice working on your opposite hand. I’ve learned so much from your channel and have been slowly replacing all the bad products I originally had with quality. You give 🌸🌸😊❣️great tips and education on how to use them properly. You are an absolute treasure! Keep up all the good work. I look forward to every episode and watch them over and over, as they really help. Amazing work Liz.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is the second video of yours that I have watched and I'm hooked. I haven't yet tried to do my own nails but I have an e-file and am trying to learn as much as I can before I start. I just ordered this bit also, so between this tutorial, any of your other tutorials I find and this bit, i feel a bit better about my first attempt. Very grateful for your posts and for randomly coming across your channel. Thank you! 🙏
I love your education on this Channel, These videos have helped me in leaps and bounds. I deliberately over filed my nails to know how it feels ( used regular file ) ...... Gees! I'm still struggling to grow them out and would NEVER want to do this to a Client ever! It's horrible. I thank you so much and I'm doing great for my Clients. I only have a few clients as I love Nails all my life but don't want a huge business just something I love doing so Learning how to be the best I can be so thank you so much for helping me really understand the nitty gritty of Nails for attaining my certificate. Much appreciated Lyn XX
I love your videos. I am a beginner and unfortunately schooling was put on hold due to everything but I find your videos very informative and straight to the points. Thank you for posting these videos! ✨
Your make-up is just absolutely stunning!! Liz, you are a really gorgeous and beautiful lady! Thank you so very much for your inspirational and informative video! Kindest regards Rita G
Currently just sporting the coats of the nail repair system you recommended. It really does seem amazing! I would like my nails in better shape, so I think it’ll really help. In the meantime, I got a small upgrade in my file machine (still a cheap-o, but I hope to care for this one better thanks to your tips) and some better bits too. Can’t get over how much this education has made for me! Even just working on my own nails. I’m already able to achieve things I never thought I could before. You are a national treasure, Miz Liz! Merry Christmas to you!
Well I am very happy that you are educating us, especially with the gel removing even the e-file. I bought the stuff on line to do my own nails, I went to one of dose little shops they have at Walmart it was convenient, so I stopped there had my nails done, the woman filed my nails so thin just to touch my face it would hurt, I was in pain for days, now my nails are fully grown, but it toke a long time , now my nails grow with grubs. It was a nightmare I am very grateful you are teaching, greetings from Wyoming.
Thank u so much for your videos. I'm a at home user from the UK and just want to say your videos are so helpful and you explain everything so clearly. Thankyou very much i am so happy to have found your channel. Finally an expert in gel nails I can really trust. Your always so professional and safety conscious it wonderful to watch. Thankyou again and keep up the great videos 👍😊💕
I would love an updated video explaining all the different nail and gel options. What’s the difference between hard gel and poly gel and acrylic and soak off and monomer and alcohol and mma and dip etc. Your clear voice has a distinct advantage and you don’t repeat yourself like so many others. Also, how to get that chrome rub on powder to last more than a day or two before peeling? Thanks so much!!
Fluffy Chicken Soak off gel, is gel that can be removed via soaking it in acetone. Gels that are not “soak off,” must be filed off. We refer to the gels that must be filed off, as "hard gels." PolyGel, is a product that combines the pros of both acrylic and gel. We squeeze it out of a tube and place a little dollop on the nail. How is it like acrylic? It doesn’t run, slide, or pool like gel does. It stays where it is put, until you decide to move it. It may level a bit, but not nearly as much as gel, does. You are in control of it. How is it like gel? It has no odour and cures in a lamp. It is a very good gateway product into learning how to use acrylic. Acrylic, is another product that we can use to build nails. Monomer, is actually one of the things that we use, to sculpt acrylic nails. Monomer, is the liquid that we saturate our brush in, before dipping it in the powder (polymer). It is what causes the “odour,” that acrylic is known for. MMA (methyl methacrylate) is an ingredient used in some* monomers. It is very hard to remove which can cause damage to the natural nail unit. It's very rubbery, gummy and is unfortunately often removed with force, by people who are not properly trained. It's less safe than the alternative -- EMA acrylic. Properly trained nail technicians, use EMA. MMA, is more common in "chop shops," as it's cheaper for them to buy. We know when MMA, is being used, as the "tech," will often over file the nail plate (causing severe damage) and use many other improper practices, to get the MMA to stick. Most horror stories that surround acrylic, (if not all) involve MMA. Yay to EMA, nay to MMA. Alcohol, is used to cleanse the nail plate, remove oils, dirt, bacteria and it also removes the "sticky layer," (inhibition layer) on gel, after we have cured it. Dip Powder, is another way of building nails. The system consists of dipping nails into a powder, after painting on a "base coat," type of product, for the powder to adhere to. You repeat the process of painting and dipping a few times, before filing and proceeding to apply colour to the nails.
Do you recommend doing this with a , medium, Corse, fine, bit? Smooth top medium? And would you recommend buying the bit you are using for gel polish removal?
She is using blue which is MEDIUM I believe? Usually, something stronger to take off the material...I always use a safety bit like she is with the rounded top.
I honestly can’t see anyone in any of the salons I’ve been to taking that much time & care on each individual nail 👎 not gonna happen unfortunately 😔 fantastic video exactly what I needed
Hi Sara stumble upon your video last night watch it saw the mistakes I was making with my efile thanking you for sharing your tips with us it help me alot
I simply adore your videos, and the 'Nail fundamentals' series is so helpful! Really appreciate the way you expose all topics and I'm learning a lot since I'm a beginner! Thans a lot! A huge hug from Italy!!!
I'll be doing this. I did not think to do this to practice my e-filing. Thank you so much! I will be adding different layers of colour and instead of using a base coat, I will use a colour as my base so I can see it better when I'm back to what would be the base
Thank you so much for this video, it is one of the best videos i watched for e-filing. I am beginner in E-filing and this video is very useful. i am glad i found this video ❤
Hi Liz! From Chile 🇨🇱 I've learned so much with your videos, I will definitely practice this Efile technique. Thank you for this Chanel, I will be looking forward to the new learning experience you mentioned where you can correct our work, I think that's a wonderful opportunity for us, your viwers, to learn even more from a pro like you !
You are amazing. Thank you sooo much. Just about the most thorough diligent, comprehensive, useful videos I’ve ever watched. You truely have helped me immensely. Thank you
Thanks so much for the great tips! I was wondering...would you be able to create a video on how thin or thick an artificial nail should be? Like I understand the concept of the apex...however; I seem to find that the tips of my nails always end up a bit thick. What is the ideal thickness? Thanks much!
Awsome tutorial , you explain things so welll and it's simple . Looking forward to the next and the next And the next episodes ahahah . Cheers from Australia🌺🐨
Thank you for your videos. I'm so grateful that you are spending so much time to teach us. Also your videos are very professional. No talk of anything else, which most do. It gets so tedious. You are so professional. By the way, gosh you are beautiful! 😁
I knew I wasn’t crazy! I stumbled upon this video by chance, but I’ve been in salons where they were using this file to file my actual nail with no paint for a full set. They burned my fingers sooooo bad. She definitely was being sloppy and using FAR to much pressure
Another great tutorial! I have such anxiety about using an e-file. The tip about filing off different colors of polish on a practice hand is brilliant!
Thank you soo much. I will be trying this exercise, I have definitely had rings of fire and chewed up cuticles. Light pressure and let the bit do the work.
Great video as always. I have learned a lot of things from your videos, so thank you for doing all of this. I just finished a nail course about doing nails in general. I took it so I can get sertified to do nails and to get a better filing on doing fake nails, learn how to use an e file and working on other people's hand. So far I've just been doing my nails. I was really scared of the e file. I still am a bit but I have to admit through this course when I did my cuticles and removed products from my nails I was surprised of how different and maybe better it was doing it this way. My cuticles never looked like this and removing product was so much easier, I have trouble doing it with acetone it takes so much time. I definitely ruined on of my nails with the e file I got a ring of fire in it, didn't notice it at the time but when I built a nail in this finger the wait of the product hurts my nail. I bought recently an e file to practice and that's why I rewatched your videos I find them very helpful, I like that you talk about everything. I have a question in the class that I attended we used a ceramic bit to remove product. I was thinking of buying one just like it, I tried using a carbine on but I didn't really manage to do much with it and I was afraid that I will cut myself. So my question is can a ceramic bit be used in the same way as the one that you are presenting here?
Been so busy at work that I haven’t had the time to watch this before now. Been looking forward to this video the whole week, and finally it’s vacation time😁😁😁 As always; great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤️ And merry Christmas to you Liz🎄
Once again I wish I had seen this set of videos before I started working with hard gel. I love the multi layers of coloured gel as a guide, I've not seen any instructional videos recommending it. I have a hard time "seeing" the base coat when i'm filing the colour off; any tips for that? I'm also very excited to see what you have in store us in 2019😀. Thank you again Liz for sharing your time and expansive knowledge.
I remember having trouble seeing the basecoat too when learning to efile. I found that sanding bands and standard metal bits created a different texture (since it grinds off product) and had a much easier time when I switched to ceramic bits and then an even BETTER experience with a carbide bit similar to one Liz used above. You'll also have an easier time seeing the basecoat if you use two coats; it will be more apparently thicker and different compared to the surface of the natural nail.
@@laurelmaha6211 thank you for the tips. I use a ceramic bit and am planning on getting a carbide one. I'll try doing 2 coats of base to see if that helps. 🙂
I know this is an older video, but I had a quiet as I watched this. I also worry about dust. So I wear a basic disposable mask. Not KN95. Would you recommend using a 95 mask over a surgical type mask? I don't have a dust collector at the moment also, I'm starting out on myself and I am a beginner
Thank you! Amazing video as always. I really wish you could come the the Massachusetts Nail Network event or even the Rhode Island one. Thank you for pushing boundaries as an educator and nail tech.
Thank you for your wonderful tutorials! I already learned so much. :) I still have questions about the e-file speed, you recommended to use it on the highest speed setting when filing off product, but I have heard other instructors say to never use the highest setting because it can be too powerful and hot on the nail. It probably depends on the e-file, but some cheap ones sound really awful at high speeds, very loud. And some "only" have 20.000 RPM maximum and some even have 35.000. I'd be afraid to use those at the highest speeds. Is there an RPM range you would recommend for filing off product? Does it depend on the hardness of the gel or the type of bit or both? Are there any indicators that we can look out for which tell us when the right speed is reached?
High speed light touch is the way to go with this type of bit and this type of service. It depends on the bit and what you are filing on. If this were a natural nail or skin it would not be the same process.
Thanks for taking the time to answer! It does seem more reasonable to practice at high speeds in a safe way and master them than to always shy away from them and instead using lower speeds and struggle with mediocre results.
Thank you Liz so much for taking the time to teach all of us in detail how to properly remove Gel polish with the e-file. Even though I am a cosmetologist, I am new to using the e-file I am so thankful that I found you you are extremely thorough and helpful. I “subscribed” so I can watch many more of your videos 😊👍 Also love your hand it completely looks real haha Once again, thank you so very much Btw I did not find the link to the ebit you are using 🤔 So if you can shoot me a link, that would be great
Great video. Can you recommend a home nail drill for myself? I'm not a nail tech but want to do my own home manicure. There are so many on Amazon and all seem to have some bad reviews. I live in Canada. Thx
I love the big silver bit that you used to take the gel polish off. My kit comes with everything but that bit would using the sand paper circle work? Why do you use the silver bit and not the sandpaper bit or the diamond bit or whatever else? Thanks so much
Thank you for this video. I appreciate how well you explain and demonstrate everything for beginners to understand. What dust collector would you recommend?
There are lots but I like the Valentino and also the Zephyros. Zephyros is lighter and uses disposable filters. Valentino is more well known and is heavier and uses reusable filters. Totally comes down to personal preference.
Thanx so much I bought an efile but was to scared to go full speed.. but you are true I couldnt get any thing off and at the end I was still taking my handfile.. But I will go try on full speed now :)
Thank you so much for these lessons, I have been following along attentively for all videos. So I purchased an electric file from aliexpress (it was affordable, and they ship to Nigeria easily), and it came with diamond bits, and sanding bands, so I'll like to know if I should purchase some other type of bits like you show us, for taking off product, and filing the cuticle area after product application to prevent lifting? Or can I use the sanding bands to do that? Since it came with fine, medium and coarse sanding bands. Please reply me.
Thank you very much for explaining and showing how to d this. I will now sart using E-file and am very nervous. But this hjelpt and i should practice a lot on this. So Thank you very much❤️❤️❤️

You speek so good and clear and don‘t go hmmm ahhh and so on and you are sooo pretty , your make up is perfect, maybe you should do a Video on how you apply your Make up. Thank you so much and I will be watching you and learn more and more, thank you, Jutta
I am a left handed. I’m not sure if I am going to ask this question properly , but here goes. Why do lefty’s have to go in reverse? I can file my own hands in both forward n reverse. Do lefty’s have to start from the left hand side of the nail and circulate the nail from left to right left⤵️
Thank you for all the great videos! Four questions: Should we practice on ourselves right out of the gate? Are dust collectors necessary for us DIYers? Especially in the time of COVID I can wear a mask and it really doesn't bother me. I'm left handed and will probably only be working on myself. Can I just use the drill in forward and reverse because I will be using both hands? How can you tell what is base coat? Thanks!

Yessssssss!
i would love to see an e file prep for the natural nail and cuticle. like what bits should we use in what speed and stuff like that!
That's coming but skin and nail plate is way more delicate so starting with basics first. :)
Same - I want to know more tips on oneself. Do you need to switch your file to reverse if you switch to the left (my non dominant).
Marissa Lorraine yes! I put the e file in reverse when using my non dominant hand. I also move my hand, not the file- if that makes sense.
I'm super late to this learning party, and I'm super bummed there's not a reply to your comment with a video link to answer this 😢😢
I need help so badly!!
Makeup is slaying
I love how passionate you are about the industry that you are willing to share your knowledge with others. I loved it when I see there is a new video. I watch your videos over and over and also when troubleshooting. Thank you for going into so much detail. You deserve more subscribers. ❤ from the UK
À
Thank you for your skilled, kind and patient instruction. I just got an awesome drill, but I’ve been afraid to use it. I have saved this video to watch for almost a year. It is time.
You will be responsible for the courage I muster. 😁
I have just started venturing into the gel overlay world and I just ordered my first e file. This has been a god send to watch!! Thank you 😊
Thank you doesn't feel enough. I wish there was a way to help support you. Your videos are invaluable ❤️. I'm learning so much from you.
You are the best nail educator that I have never seen in the industry your videos are soooo helpful simple clear and soooooooooo objectif
I just found your video this evening. Thank you so much for sharing it. It is exactly what I needed to find. I recently started self study to become a nail tech and this video is an amazing resource.
I'm Left-handed, Thank you so much for the suport. You are amazing.
I REALLY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THESE EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS THAT YOU ARE PROVIDING US !!! THANK YOU.
When you mentioned focusing on being precise rather than being quick, it reminded me of an expression my karate teacher used to use all the time (modified to apply to the nail business): slow is smooth, smooth is fast, fast is money.
I frankly want to hug you for all the great info and Labyrinth/Bowie geekdom. Nails and nerds are the best.
Thank you for this lesson I'm a very new beginner at this and because of this was and I was able to remove gel polish one layered time without getting to my nail bed thank you very much
Excellent tutorial Liz, great way to practice. Thank you very much for your time and effort in creating these for us!!
This is so helpful. You are so right, I am e-file certified without ever learning how to actually use it!
Kindest regards
Rita G
Currently just sporting the coats of the nail repair system you recommended. It really does seem amazing! I would like my nails in better shape, so I think it’ll really help. In the meantime, I got a small upgrade in my file machine (still a cheap-o, but I hope to care for this one better thanks to your tips) and some better bits too. Can’t get over how much this education has made for me! Even just working on my own nails. I’m already able to achieve things I never thought I could before. You are a national treasure, Miz Liz! Merry Christmas to you!
This video is SO SO SO helpful!! Thank you Liz for being so educational!
Once you've filed off the colour layers do you soak off the base coat or do you switch to a sanding band? 😃
We refer to the gels that must be filed off, as "hard gels."
PolyGel, is a product that combines the pros of both acrylic and gel.
Very well explained, thank you. I think people should have a bit of appreciation for someone taking pain to type such a lengthy explanation.
Agnes M Thank you and you’re welcome! I love educating! :)
Your vids are life saving.
Seriously, you just explain things so well. I am learning a lot just watching.
I honestly can’t see anyone in any of the salons I’ve been to taking that much time & care on each individual nail 👎 not gonna happen unfortunately 😔 fantastic video exactly what I needed
You’re a wonderful teacher. Hope you’ll be posting more soon! Thank you!
God bless you. I am so grateful I came across your page!😊 I'm a beginner and your honesty & clear cut delivery is awesome 👏👏 thank you soo much
Hi Sara stumble upon your video last night watch it saw the mistakes I was making with my efile thanking you for sharing your tips with us it help me alot
in nail school they never showed us how to remove gel polish with an e-file so thanks for making such videos they're helpful :)
My pleasure 😊
This is an excellent tutorial! Thank you!
I simply adore your videos, and the 'Nail fundamentals' series is so helpful! Really appreciate the way you expose all topics and I'm learning a lot since I'm a beginner! Thans a lot! A huge hug from Italy!!!
Excellent video as always. Thank you very much for the time you dedicate to teach us. Greetings from Costa Rica.
Thank you. I have watched so many e-file videos. Yours I understand!!
Yes absolutely.
Link please 😊
This is brilliant! Its the first video i watched of yours, and it was tremendously helpful!
Hope you watch the whole series. It's well worth it!
@@MargieM10 yes i have! But this was the first one that drew me to the rest, i found this technique very helpful for me being new to the efile...
I love all your videos and the way you explain everything so well! You're a natural teacher, and only the best kind. :)
Been looking forward to this video the whole week, and finally it’s vacation time😁😁😁
As always; great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤️
And merry Christmas to you Liz🎄
Once again I wish I had seen this set of videos before I started working with hard gel. I love the multi layers of coloured gel as a guide, I've not seen any instructional videos recommending it. I have a hard time "seeing" the base coat when i'm filing the colour off; any tips for that? I'm also very excited to see what you have in store us in 2019😀. Thank you again Liz for sharing your time and expansive knowledge.
I will definitely show this when we start doing overlays.
@@TheNailHub tyfs your experience. I appreciate you so much.
I can't wait to watch you explain this too.🤗
I remember having trouble seeing the basecoat too when learning to efile.
love me an efile! That exercise is great!!!
Thank you very much for this video. Great to know there are alternatives to removing gel polish from a natural nail. Very Informative and detailed.
Thanks so much for all of these. I cant afford the fee of beauty school so youtube is all i got. Thanks again for the amazing work❣️
You explain thing so well. Thanks and keep making videos.
she's a genius
Ya I got cut twice yesterday so I am going to learn how to do my own! Do you recommend fan if just doing on self? Or mask?
I know this is an older video, but I had a quiet as I watched this. I also worry about dust. So I wear a basic disposable mask. Not KN95. Would you recommend using a 95 mask over a surgical type mask? I don't have a dust collector at the moment also, I'm starting out on myself and I am a beginner
I have an e-file course booked in a couple of weeks, this is a lovely little appetiser for it :D
I just tried this over my new dust collector that arrived today yea... and it was amazing thank u this will help me a lot x
Many Thanks for this educational video! You are a fantastic teacher!♥️🤗
Would you recommend e filing off dip gel completely vs. soaking?
Love your videos 😊 thank you so much 😊
Thank you! Amazing video as always. I really wish you could come the the Massachusetts Nail Network event or even the Rhode Island one. Thank you for pushing boundaries as an educator and nail tech.
Thank you for your wonderful tutorials! I already learned so much. :)
I still have questions about the e-file speed, you recommended to use it on the highest speed setting when filing off product, but I have heard other instructors say to never use the highest setting because it can be too powerful and hot on the nail.
What type of bit would be used at a slower speed?
Thank you Liz so much for taking the time to teach all of us in detail how to properly remove
Gel polish with the e-file.
Even though I am a cosmetologist, I am new to using the e-file
I am so thankful that I found you you are extremely thorough and helpful.
I “subscribed” so I can watch many more of your videos 😊👍
Also love your hand it completely looks real haha
Once again, thank you so very much
Btw I did not find the link to the ebit you are using 🤔
So if you can shoot me a link, that would be great
Great video. Can you recommend a home nail drill for myself? I'm not a nail tech but want to do my own home manicure. There are so many on Amazon and all seem to have some bad reviews. I live in Canada. Thx
Thank you. I’m starting school on January 7th this will help me so much
I love the big silver bit that you used to take the gel polish off. My kit comes with everything but that bit would using the sand paper circle work? Why do you use the silver bit and not the sandpaper bit or the diamond bit or whatever else? Thanks so much
Ah! Finally found what "ring of fire" is! I asked earlier today about that. Thank you!
I am so lucky to find you! You are an excelent teacher! I wish you could make vídeos in Spanish! 💖💅🙏
Hi Liz, What do you use for a mask when e-filing?
I use a dust collector instead of a mask. You can double down if you want to, but look for HEPA grade face masks because gel has such fine particles.
The Nail Hub Thank you for responding!😊
You can use this method on the natural nail? I thought that carbide bits were only supposed to be used with enhancements
Oh yess !!! Laundry will have to wait, I need to watch this NOW !!!!! 😂
So Thank you very much❤️❤️❤️
Hi Liz,I am new to duing my own Powder Dip Nails. I am so glad I found your Videos, first of all I want to tell you that I learned alot and it is really a Pleassure to watch you.
Thanks!
Thank u for this video i learned so much from it ima start using an e-file and never thought of this thank u again
