Having studied the neuroscience of mindfulness and had a very lucrative business teaching mindfulness before coming home, l know that of which l speak, and to be fair l was having qualms about the cumulative deleterious side effects of mindfulness outweighing any benefits, way before that and took a hiatus in lock down to do more research, meaning to come back, but.....
Catholicism had a huge tradition of contemplation and meditation, over 2 millennia, how capricious and ungrateful and shallow of us to appropriate the eastern version of channeling spirits... Even eastern meditation actually contains caveats for those not too manic already to take a caution.
