I recommend taking off the wiper assembly as it is not difficult to remove and gives great access to the back of the engine. Make sure that you mark the position of the wiper arms before you remove them otherwise you will probably have difficulty getting them back in the right place and when they crash together it is nasty.
👌Thanks. I appreciated the unedited footage of the video in its entirety with wind noise, duck tapes and especially the little one shooting the video. Wonderful job. 🙏
don't worry about wind. u can't do much about that. thanks for not editing out footage and showing the way you did it and the patience needed. very good
it makes it way easier if you remove the windshield wiper assembly and cowl. its about 10 bolts after removing wiper blades. gives large access area to rear of engine. ive done this many times. takes an additional 10 minutes.
Thank you very much for the video but instead of taping the battery post, just pull the battery or put cardboard over it. It looks like the battery posts and connectors needed cleaned and protectant put on them. Thank you for putting Never Seize on the threads!! 🥰❤️
Its been a while since ur post. I was just wondering if u kept track of the part number for the sensor. I ask as i have biught 9 aensors and none for aome reason fit the connector like the factory one does.
Since battery ground removed, will that reset diagnostic trouble codes & turn off malfunction indicator lamp irregardless of whether problem is solved? Most excellent job of documenting repair & fantastic videographer! Much obliged for posting.
So, if you have an auto repair shop replace this sensor, how do they do it? Do they drop the motor..? Or have a special tool? Or come from the bottom on the lift...? This is a really difficult job for the aged or physically challenged, thanks all the same!!! God Bless! †
I'm sure they do it just like I did, but probably have an appropriately long socket extension rather than resorting to put multiples together held secure with duct tape. No lift or anything. I'm sure anyone relatively handy can do it in a few minutes, and half the battle is locating it.
Hmm. Frank, I don't have that van anymore, but I read on a blog it was supposed to be 20 foot pounds here: www.chryslerminivan.net/threads/tips-for-changing-the-upstream-o2-sensor-2001-town-country-3-8l.23691/
No more of a problem it is to remove the grill and motors you would have had been done in less time, good idea on duct tape to show others that don't know this
Well shucks, I don't have the Chrysler minivan anymore to double check, but I think that oxygen sensor socket was a standard size (and had the slot in it especially made for that sensor) so I am pretty sure if you just go in and get one of the sockets at your regular auto parts place, it will be the right one!
Hi! I can't exactly recall and have since replaced that van with a Honda Odyssey.. Sorry I can't give more info. If I still had it I'd go out and measure for you. :)

don't apologize for light, you are doing the rest of us a great service. thanks for doing the working without editing out things.
How to replace 02 oxygen sensor 2001 Suzuki vitara
Nice job with help of your son! Kudos to both of you.
Great job thanks for not skip or edit steps, God bless you , you save me a lot of money do it myself.
Thanks for the comment! I am happy to hear you were able to do it yourself! :)

Tip dejour; Try removing the air intake and plenum when you do upstream 02 sensor or spark plugs on these vans.

great work, thank you for sharing your experience.
Great job... The mechanic and the young camera operator......
Gracias por su video, saludos desde Mexico!
Thanks for the video. One of my O2 sensors failed. Now I some information yo go a head and replace the sensor.
The little plastic retainers, that you asked what they are called, are "Push Pins" or "Plastic Push Rivets"...
Thank you very much for the video but instead of taping the battery post, just pull the battery or put cardboard over it. It looks like the battery posts and connectors needed cleaned and protectant put on them. Thank you for putting Never Seize on the threads!! 🥰❤️
Good tip!
Thanks buddy. Looked like a pain to get out.

Its been a while since ur post. I was just wondering if u kept track of the part number for the sensor. I ask as i have biught 9 aensors and none for aome reason fit the connector like the factory one does.
Me gusta. Gracias ya q me ha sido de mucha importancia tu vídeo. La verdad, muy poco entiendo el idioma.

Thank you for the comment! I don't believe just disconnecting the battery will clear codes, but you can usually do that with a ODB scanner.
Thanks much, Good work.
Would you please advise if this a 3.8 liter engine? And gasoline
Thanks! Yes, this is a gasoline and 3.8L in size. I don't believe the T&C was made with a diesel engine.
thank you !!!!
Thanks for not editing at all and showing the whole process. I wonder if after completing the drive cycle you had any troubles at all.
nice and thank u

How tightly did you install the O2 sensor? I don’t suppose you know the torque spec?
Hmm. Frank, I don't have that van anymore, but I read on a blog it was supposed to be 20 foot pounds here:
www.chryslerminivan.net/threads/tips-for-changing-the-upstream-o2-sensor-2001-town-country-3-8l.23691/
Germen spec? goodntight
is it too hard with just a box wrench??
Heck noooooo I will pay the $40 that is crazy.
No more of a problem it is to remove the grill and motors you would have had been done in less time, good idea on duct tape to show others that don't know this
I have this code p0038 but idnt know what it means? Any idea.
I believe that code is for another sensor *after* the catalytic converter...
i tried this earlier today and the universal joint exploded o2 sensor still stuck in there
I got code po420
Should i change 02 i drive 04 Chrysler town and country or should i change cat??
An o2 sensor is definitely cheaper, but chances are your cat has expired (no 9 lives there!) if your van has more than 100k on it. Good luck!
stoppedsnoring you are WRONG I disconnected the battery terminals waited 10 minutes the check engine light never came back.
@@vrsinjacmir2171 did the p0420 come back?
I have a code reading p0135 on my 2003 dodge caravan and what socket i need to take it out
Well shucks, I don't have the Chrysler minivan anymore to double check, but I think that oxygen sensor socket was a standard size (and had the slot in it especially made for that sensor) so I am pretty sure if you just go in and get one of the sockets at your regular auto parts place, it will be the right one!
did the light every come back on i know that after the battery is disconnected it resets all error lights
It was good after I replaced mine.
What size o2 sensor tool size for the wrinch? 3/8 right? I sorta have the same problem on My wife 2003 caravan too hope to hear back from you soon.

NEXT TIME CUT THE CABLE FROM THE OLD SENSOR BEFORE YOU TAKE AT OUT SO IT COULD BE EASY TO TAKE IT OUT....
can you send to me book broblem for car voyger model2000
