It was the most beautiful sight seeing Mary in her tight fitting long white pants singing and dancing with amazing high energy electrifying the whole stadium. This is an awesome video. I heard this song on the radio and I became flooded with emotion. Once I found out it was P,P and Mary from 1968 , and with the snipet editing of this video creation, I was returned, in my mind's eye to the vietnam era in 1968 when I was 5 years old. If not for MTV, I don't think I would have finished college. Videos can elevate favorite songs 1000% if they are good; they can also almost ruin it. Why I am drawn to music from Petula Clark, Lulu, and The Seekers, to Cream, The Animals, Paul Revere, Electric Prunes, storing them at 4 and 5 years old is crazy. Everything I wrote will just serve for criticism for readers which is cool. I can only convey the story and significance of this video by telling the history and emotion behind it. This is expressively to KELLY HEISLER, who unknowingly created a very powerful, emotionally provoking video for me( sentimental) by piecing particular snipets together. I fell in love with go-go girls at age 2, and at age 56 am realizing that P,P, and Mary performed ' Leaving on a Jet Plane'; I now remember a friend's brother forced to leave his high school sweetheart and never returned. My dad rocked me to sleep with 'Puff the Magic Dragon'. I never knew it was P,P and Mary. This is poetry at it's finest. To most, this is just a cool video. For me and others out there somewhere, it is like starring at a famous painting for hours, feeling the emotion. Thank you, J.S

The backing musicians are Toronto's Skip Prokop on drums (future Lighthouse member) and Denny Gerrard on bass. Both were in the band The Paupers and backed PP & M on their 1700 Album.

I graduated high school in the mid 80s. I think that the 60s had the best music, followed by the 80s. Those two decades are the best of the 20th century.

Love this song! Just an aside, but the clip of the blonde woman in the black top is so cool. I am gay, but even I can se that woman is very sexy!! It's weird how sometimes you can see a dancer like that woman, that seemingly appears by happenstance in a music video, and you wonder what kind of life they had, and what they look like when they got older. Whoever pulled the various images of this clip together did an amazing job, really capturing the spirit of this very cool, amazing, iconic song by Peter, Paul, and Mary. I really feel myself being pulled back to that time, even though I was a child in the 60's.

unfortunately I have never see the full song clip from the colour version.It came from the Jonathon Winters show
Anything before the 2000's was music, but I think the 60's , 70's and 80's were the best.

Love this song! Just an aside, but the clip of the blonde woman in the black top is so cool. I am gay, but even I can se that woman is very sexy!! It's weird how sometimes you can see a dancer like that woman, that seemingly appears by happenstance in a music video, and you wonder what kind of life they had, and what they look like when they got older. Whoever pulled the various images of this clip together did an amazing job, really capturing the spirit of this very cool, amazing, iconic song by Peter, Paul, and Mary. I really feel myself being pulled back to that time, even though I was a child in the 60's.
