The East London collective's version of Toto's soft rock classic "Africa" has been tried and tested on dance floors worldwide for many months, and it's release of 7-inches of heavyweight wax is the perfect way to mark the start of Wah Wah 45's potentially biggest year so far!
Original recording by Toto and written by J. Porcaro, D. Paich
Publishing owned by Hudmar Publishing / Rising Storm Music / Sony / ATV Music

Happiest cover ever.
It's just been on radio x!!!!!
Now that's a radio station I want to listen to!
Absolutely mustard. Just on the way home from the gig at the Blind Tiger in Brighton and we can't stop whistling this...
I mentioned this lot to a friend of mine from County Durham, he was livid. "Hackney never had a pit!" - Valid point!
Jack FaulknerYou never know, there just might be coal under Hackney wick. But then the local council would put a stop to it (eenvoiwenmental issues) plus where would you get people willing to gan down a pit these days. OOh moi trainers would get rooined, and you arent allowed to use a moboil, and the coal dast would ROOIN my nails
(ps I have played drums in a Durham brass band....was asked to leave the rehearsel room when I played a James Brown backbeat on a military march LOL)
Having said all that, this is a cracking version, sort of a tightened loose tubes feel. Very nicely done!
Stratford Marshes hold no coal, just some knackered cars. I think lots of Hackney Wick types would go down a pit for some locally produced charcuterie. I live in Hackney Wick.
I don't mind the version though, might try to see them once.
Aaron Szura Where as thats a mildly funny thing to say and you might be from tyneside or south shields or some godforsaken part of there abouts I couldn't give a shit if Durham was the capital of homosexuality. Thanks though.
Never had a pit? Dalston was a complete pit in the late 90's, mate.
This is what smiling sounds like!

Infinitely better than the one done by Toto, or whatever the hell they were called.
Sorry I prefer the original Markive! It's missing the beautiful lyrics. Its gonna take a lot to drag me away from youuuuuuuu! Theres nothing that a hundred men or more could ever doooo!
God that's the worst thing I've ever heard....
