One thing I like is that the version played in _The Hunger Games_ is noticeably different from the original version. This version is slower, more syncopated, and has an organic sense of soul; the version in _The Hunger Games_ is faster and has a more regular, synthesized feel, sort of an "NPR meets casino" vibe, which fits perfectly with Capitol aesthetic.
The version for Caesar Flickman's intro is sped up a bit and has the bass notes enhanced substantially.
Every once in a while you stumble upon a new track that makes you wonder "Why I've never heard about these guys before?" This is one of them.
SO GLAD THIS WAS IN THE HUNGER GAMES! This song is the reason I want to learn how to play the trumpet!!

I'm 51 years old, and this song took me back to being a young Black child in NYC in the 70s. This song transported me back to the Motherland that only my soul knows. This song raised my Black Fist out of LOVE and PRIDE, not hate and fear. This song made me weep for the ones who are no longer here, and for those yet born, who will wake to struggle, but be made stronger by it. This song made me appreciate the creativeness within people, and especially, MY PEOPLE. GRAND RISING TO YOU ALL!

I saw these guys the first time in Chicago back in 2004, took pictures with them. Great people, great band, not your everyday tunes. Best of luck wherever they go!

I first saw this ensemble back in 2004 in New Orleans playing on a street corner in the French Quarter. Bought a CD from them. I was watching the Hungry Games and heard this song. I immediately knew where this great song came from. Made me instantly like the movie more and remember the great music of this awesome ensemble.
Saw these guys live and their energy is incredible!
I'm so missing New York now. I remember seeing these guys play all over NYC, especially Union Square station. So glad I bought 3 of their albums & can jam to them wherever I am :D

I used to come across these greats playing around NYC fairly frequently, and every time you just had to stop. Utterly incredible, and even moreso live.

Can't tell if I like this version better than the Hunger Games version (they seem different in parts, like the beginning part), but they are both so good! :D
