Guys like us, Kevin, eventually learn to hide the fact that we are highly skilled, focused and detail orientated. Usually right after they tell us we're not allowed to compete with them anymore.
Look at No Prep Kings and basically how they tried to screw Larry Larson and Birdman, Both had proven dominating cars until they changed the rules in such a way their cars couldn't compete as well
Cleetus is gonna start handicapping you if you win all his events... lol

The problem I have with Karting is that I get tunnel vision and forget to check my surroundings

Big part driving, big part the cart! With rental cart places like this, there are usually 3-4 carts that are better than the others, and some that are real duds. I got lucky enough to be in one of the quicker ones for the finals!

You should use a windscreen on your GoPro. There like $11 for two of them. I use it on my GoPros on my rc car channel and it takes out almost all wind noise.

That's one of the most exciting races I've watched recently, I was leaning every corner with you and recoiling when we nudged the siding. One small point though, referring to your partner as "the girlfriend", she may not want RUclips fame but c'mon.

That outside, minimal braking downhill right is what determines a fast lap on this course. By lap 3 in the final race you figured out the wide line is best and couldn't be caught. Excellent piloting skills.
I went to the 500 in 1992, I sat on Pit row 10 rows from the track, I got my ticket from a X Business Partner, it was a great experience, the amount of people there was crazy.

I have noticed that you are a very good driver. And it is so hard to pass on that little track.
The kart track, how many of you play GranTurismo? That track is the same as one of the kart tracks in GranTurismo 6. LOL. Not sure who copied who but it is the same. Too funny. Nice work Kev landing a 2nd starting spot and a VICTORY IN THE MAIN!! Those karts look to be perfectly set up for the track, not too fast, just fast enough to be fun but not so fast as to over run the layout if you drive a tight line. From back in the pack all you can hope for is some carnage in front and you get lucky enough to get around it.
By the shootout, the quotes came off the "win", it was game on!!

Next time you are up here in indy, check out Fast Times Indoor Karting. It's on the north side of town. Two levels of fun. Was that Sarah Fisher's track near Brownsburg?
That's the general rule for rental carts. Luck of the draw and avoiding the kids and intoxicated people. Lol. Interesting thing I've noticed about rental carts, unlike real cars hitting the apex isn't always ideal. Depending on the turn rental carts get bogged down. Great driving I'm surprised Garret hasn't started a cart event at the FF yet. I know him and Jeremy used to be big cart racing guys.

Kevin, hope you got into the track at some point. If not, next time you’re in town, just look up Indy racing museum tickets. They aren’t too bad on price and you get a full track tour. The museum inside is also really cool. Lots of racing history in there. And a lot of old former winners of the 500.
Glad you had a good time! I work for IndyCar as the series' Electrical Engineer. I work in the office building literally across the street from where you ended the video at Gate 2. Will definitely have to come back out for the Indy 500 or an IndyCar event at the speedway. Pretty unique experience!
The baby giraffe should set up an exhibition Freedom 500 using karts in the infield short course at the Freedom Factory, could call it the Freedom 50cc. Give invited drivers a set budget to buy and build a kart then race enduro style like the real race.
Tell ole cleetus either “Your First Or Last” 😂 I still haven’t taken pictures of everything, but once the weather clears of good! We will get them taken and sent. Fast Times and Sarah Fisher Racing in Speedway are awesome tracks in Indy! Heard carting went down figured it was one of those two. I feel like when I went and it was called Sarah Fisher, we ran it the other direction. Never have I felt that much focus while doing anything as carting like that.
Humble asf, "it was luck and all about the carts" yeah sure it was thats why cleetus said you're not allowed racing anymore because of Luck. 🤣

Oh man i used to love karting, until i hit the point in my life that i grew past my older sister lol. When i was smaller than her i was always faster, then i grew 8 inches taller and did sports and weight lifting. The effect of weight on a go karts performance is so much more exaggerated >.> lol at 25 pounds heavier than her i was losing by half the damn track

Been to indy a few times for the moto GP races, never seen a bike rally until you have seen it when moto GP is in town. Always wanted to go to the 1/4 mile track but never made it. Maybe next year.

I have a buddy that races go-carts and he told me that sometimes he puts a lil sponge in his glove and soaks it with nitro and when he needs a boost off the line he reaches over and squeezes his air filter and it gives him a good boost to pass everyone on the start of the race

After the nose tap at the 180 u ran a super clean line. Your outside in line after that corner was reeling em in!
Karting is so fun but I can’t be competitive. Such a disadvantage to be tall and have the extra weight, plus I look ridiculous folded up into a kart frame. 🤣
I out weighed most of my friends by like 75lbs minimum and was taller by like 6-8inches. Rental karts are the worst for bigger guys, almost need to hand out weight vests for the lil folks.
