- Few railroads in American history have quite the legacy that compare to the East Broad Top. The historical fabric of the property prompted William Withuhn - the Smithsonian Institute's rail historian - to state: "Nowhere in North American does such a complete and original historic site exist."
Today, the EBT Foundation and the Friends of the East Broad Top are working to preserve this historic fabric for all to enjoy, from the shop buildings to the locomotives and rolling stock.
Join us on a tour of the Rockhill Furnace yard and shops, where you can be immersed in the living history that is the East Broad Top Railroad!

Music: "Pioneers" from Audionautix.com; "Fig Leaf Times Two", "Dreamy Flashback", "The Cannery" and "Thaxted" by Kevin MacLoed.
9:06 The cannery really fits with the EBT's shop complex, with it being so industrial and manufacture-esque sounding.
Great video!
Chris, you did a great job on this video. Last time I visited EBT was the Fall Spectacular in 2010(?), and since I live in Washington State, haven't been back since. It is on my to-do list for sure. I used to live in PA and visited a number of times, from April 1961 on. What a magical place! Thanks for the memories.
16 did return to service a couple weeks ago
That's way to cool!
Excellent video Chris, been wanting to see another narrated video for a while and you made my wish come true!
Great to see this wonderful railroad see a bit --a large bit-- of TLC!
Awesome video friend 🤩
Great video!!! Thanks for sharing
Very enjoyable. Great music, also!
Thank you very much! I tried to pick music that fit the mood of each segment.
Well done
Premium narration. This is the kind of content that the history Channel should be airing instead!
Edit: the background music is a bit loud/overpowering in the latter half of the video
I apologize for the overpowering music in the second half. I’ll do my best to get it fixed for future videos, as I’m the one who puts everything together.
16 will be ready THAT soon? I was expecting them to finish her around the start of the season next year
Wow
12:03 what is the name of the song here?
K<rainz needs to do this line
If you look on their website, they do have it listed as a future project…
What’s the song called at time stamp 12:03?
Loved the information on EBT. My complaint comes from the fact that the audio is "JACKED UP" . Vocal is so soft as the MUSIC WILL BLOW YOU AWAY. Whoever is doing your post production audio needs to be fired or at least reprimanded. Makes watching the video very hard, turning the volume up and down.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I only have myself to blame for the poor audio mixing (I am literally a one-man band); I’ll do my best to get it rectified in future videos, though.
Thank you for the feedback, all the same!
Well, that’s some friendly feedback. 😂. I thought it was fine. Thanks for producing this piece.
Are you aware that locomotives 14 & 16 are currently being restored to operating condition?
I did mention in the video that #16 is expected to return soon. #14 was to be next in line, but now #15 has been made the priority after #16.
@@trainmaster844 Cool.
@@trainmaster844 I guess 15 was found to be in better condition? It seems 17 and 18 were the most worn of the 6 for sure
@@MidnightRailfan 15 already had a massive boiler rebuild between 2002 and 2006. So the main work that’s needed is a valve gear rebuild, along with new boiler tubes.
