Plantain sucker will depend on your location, they are expensive in one location to another
In terms of varieties it boldly depends on ur choice all varieties have the advantages and value
1) elephant trunk plantain popularly called alaba plantain. doesn't have much plantain on a bunch but are very very big( hardly have 20 in a bunch
2) second type have many plantain on a bunch up to 60 but are not big.
3)3rd type are the normal one are between the two types are not big up to elephant trunk type are but bigger than the second type they have between 20 to 40 on a punch depending on ur land
Note
Plantain still have some special types
This type if u plant a single sucker they will give u two bunch for harvest at once
Therefore all depends on your choice

Very very hard for water to kill it at that month, only if you just planted and is not up to 3month to really established it's root it will kill it
