Nothing will match that Colorado hype train after the TCU win and Nebraska road win just insane to watch even as a Georgia fan. Then Colorado getting upset by Stanford the way they did with the blown lead and losing most of their remaining games was just unlike anything i have ever seen in the last 20 years. as KTO put it the most hyped 4-8 team ever
Can't believe they consider the Nebraska win as an upset. Nebraska hasn't been much better than CU and literally gave the game to Colorado. I laughed during the Stanford game being beat by the same play over and over again.
I am a Nebraska fan and watched the whole game. ANY kind of offense and we win that game. Our defense played well for as long as it could until they were on the field too much. We should have won that game.
The problem with the CU hype train is the hype surrounding the other teams. As a TCU fan, we knew we had lost a ton of talent, gained Kendall Briles (most fans still aren't happy with him, to my knowledge). While everyone was certain TCU wasn't going to a CC, much less the playoffs, it wasn't known they were going to be a 5-7 team, until later. Nebraska having Matt Rhule was another media hype. "Two first year coaches face off!" Nebraska has a great defense, but no offense. And then Colorado State was 3-9 the previous season. The game _shouldn't_ have been close, but when you see that it went into OT, the college football world should have been able to say "You know what, CU _is_ over-hyped. They haven't played anyone [with a winning record]." If TCU had a Nebraska-type defense or if Nebraska had TCU-type offense, the hype-train would have ended quickly. It wasn't until Oregon, who had both, put them in their place. I don't think the media realized it, though, until Stanford came from far behind and won. EDIT: Kendall, not Kednall.
