@@thomass.4007 Nope. Opponent Rayquaza didn't Delta Stream only Air Lock which negates effects given by weather, but not abilities which activate during weather conditions. Now had the Rayquaza been mega this could've been a very different video.

the outspeeding during the rain I understand. but what about the outspeeding during all the turns where there was no rain? If I recall corectly poli doesn't have the best base speed and might not get a turn to set it up prior to having to start fighting (as belly drum and substitute need to be executed)

I just beat someone who used this exact strategy. After they sent out poliwrath after killing their first pokemon I used thunderbolt on their substitute, then on the poliwrath and one shotted it. I was so confused what they were trying to do.
You did good.
You have to be aggressive if they're setting up some suspicious plot.
You can't let your opponent set up those or else you would be regretting it.

I think it's so funny how once I see your strategies happen, it seems like "well no shit that works" like 4x atk liquidation into max geyser obviously is amazing. I just feel so stupid in pokemon when I watch this but it makes me so happy to see these things work.

These videos are great. I get a genuine kick out of them, but I am curious as to how many battles it takes to get the needed footage for a full length video? I know some battles just don't work out for the video. I'm not trying to insult at all, I'm just sincerely curious. Thanks for all the content though! It's gives us all a great laugh and really makes us all think actually about how we would handle these team match ups and makes us all better trainers really.
It ceases to amaze me how there are people on the ladder who do not have any plans whatsoever to counter sweeps like this
I'm pretty sure he records a shit ton of attempts until he runs into people that don't know what they're doing
I don't know what's worse: the fact that all of these gimmicky cheese strats can be completely dumpstered by taunt or the fact that NOBODY thinks to pack a taunt user for stuff like this.
That's the thing, strats like these are easy to counter. Any knowledgeable or professional player can tell you that. But the thing is on showdown you have a Lot of kids who haven't gotten out of that Ubers/Legends go Brrrr kinda mindset. They beat the game with those pokemon, so clearly they must be good!

Why does the Poliwrath have a healing berry when he already has Drain Punch he can use with 4x Damage? Wouldn't it make more sense to give him a berry that increases speed?
Max geyser allows it to use its ability swift swim to outspeed faster foes, i fuess sitrus berry is just a reassurance - like what happened with vileplume

Hi temp! I don't know if you read comments, and I don't know if you read mine, but... Could you do this same strat with a Slurpuff instead of a Poliwrath ?
See, it's pretty much the exact same build, but harder without the Substitute.
This is my usual build for it.
Pokemon: Slurpuff
Move 1: Belly Drum.
Move 2: Drain Punch.
Move 3: Play Rough.
Move 4: Return/Endeavor/Recover.
Item: Sitrus Berry.
Ability: Unburden.
Nature: Adamant/Jolly
EVs: 4 HP, 252 ATK, 252 SPEED.
