I use all my 1873s for ccw in rotation even though I have modern guns there's just something about those single actions, like old cars. Just classic.

Hi, Mike. Thanks for watching. To be fair, I rarely get to use a holster. At my club’s indoor range where I do 99% of my shooting, holsters are not permitted. Thanks, Steve. I think Cimarron holds Pietta to tighter standards than for other importers. We know, for instance, that Cimarron is the only importer for whom Pietta will now make “4-click” SAA revolvers. Everybody else gets transfer-bar 3-clickers these days. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

I have 2 Pietta replica 4 3/4”, 45 Colt, Pistoleros. Quality is amazing. Wood exquisite. Triggers and actions unbelievably smooth! Indexing perfect. Sights excellent. Accurate! Oh, and 4-clicks! The only problem I have had is ensuring the cylinder pin is properly installed with the notch at the bottom (otherwise the pin will walk forward).
Haha..yeah..I fully understand! Around these parts if the temp drops below 40 or rises above 80 we start to panic. We don’t have clothes for that, LOL 😂 Thanks for watching! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Pietta also does 3-click. Cimarron contracts with Uberti specify 4-click. So if you get a Cimarron revolver made by Uberti, it will likely have 4-clicks, You will see two of them in this series 🤛🏻🔫👋🏻
Hate those transfer bars, always getting in the way of my hammer! Lol. Have my first Cimarron on the way, an Evil Roy in 45C. Since a real SAA isn’t within my budget this will have to suffice, although if I sold off a few vaqueros and blackhawks I could buy the real deal, but no, probably not in the cards for me. Now I just need some primers at a reasonable price! I heard there’s a new company in TX about to start production, I sure hope this helps. We manufacture machines at work and I keep telling them to design a primer machine, about as close to guaranteed income as it gets. Take Care!
Hi, Tom. Thanks for watching and commenting. That Evil Roy will be a fun one to shoot, for sure. I’m with you..I’d sure like to see the price of primers come down! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
This revolver has a floating firing pin. Where it might be slightly safer to carry on an empty chamber, it is unlikely to fire when dropped. This is a way to sell these in commiefornia. They have to pass a drop test. The older smiths had this style of firing pin.
Thanks, Laramie. This revolver does not have the floating pin found in some of Uberti’s new ones such as the “ Pistoleer”. Rather, it utilizes the hammer-block base pin. In the hammer-forward position, the firing pin does extend through the frame, and may actually rest very close to the case head. If the back of the hammer is hit, and the base pin is in the forward position, it is possible for the firing pin to strike the primer. That said, single-action revolvers are essentially exempt from the California Handgun Roster and not subject to our drop test and other requirements. There are some exceptions, of course. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
That "base pin safety" isn't for carry; it just slows down curious children. There shouldn't be cartridges in the pistol while you're engaging/disengaging the "safety".
Right. Which further exemplifies the uselessness of the feature: if you were afraid that a child might sneak up and cock and fire the loaded weapon, you shouldn’t be carrying or leave it laying around in the first place. You’d only have to unload it later to properly reset the hammer block. If one is worried about dropping the firearm, and thought the hammer block would be a safeguard against accidental discharge that way, you’re in the same boat re: having to re-set it. There’s no point, to my way of thinking. Far better to carry five with the hammer and firing pin over an empty chamber. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Just a word here. Remember that when you cock the hammer back on a Colt SAA the clicks spell Colt . When you cock the hammer on a reproduction the clicks spell FAKE. There ain't nothing like the real thing baby. Always Colt.
