I just downloaded the app. As someone who briefly touched on the full Pokémon card game growing up, it’s been pretty fun starting this game. Packed a few really nice Gen 1 Pokémon and it’s bringing back memories of my physical cards I had back then. Didn’t expect much from a mobile game, but so far so good
I agree. I started to collect pokemon cards this year after not collecting them few years ago, I used to when I was a kid but eventually after getting back into the pokemon franchise it got me in the mood to collect them again. And as I heard about TCG pocket, I had to download it and I have been playing it daily. And what I love about it too is that it’s what helped me learn how to play the card game, even my friends who even started to collect Pokemon cards wanted to learn how to play and they learned by playing TCG pocket. And I think it’s great cuz now anytime my friends wanna come over to my place and hang, we can now play against each other with our psychical cards 😊 Sure TCG pocket may be pretty simple but I still like it. And I do hope that they can add new booster packs other than the charizard pikachu and mewtwo ones.
@TheWaross that kinda luck must be worth of a week. I did that too with my zapdos EX once or a couple time. Now his funtion is only use to defend since hes giving me tail almost all the time 🤣🤣
The auto battler is only for solo play against the AI, which is essentially just practice mode (most of the time). You can use it to grind out quests the first time, or run a bunch of simulations to see if the deck wins more than loses. That’s why it feels lame to you, because you didn’t play the actual game.
@@iDrKx as a f2p, you get enough cards to easily have a meta deck. The harder part is getting rares/full set but as trading releases I suspect that gets easier
I also wasn’t originally planning on doing the pvp, but it’s so easy to understand and simple to play since it doesn’t have a super complicated meta yet. It’s also important for doing quests and levelling up, which gives you free hourglasses, which help you open more cards. So it’s pretty well crafted to onboard players
I been really enjoying it. I never played the tcg game just collected cards irl. This makes deck building and battling with your cards so much easier. I haven't spent any money on it and I got enough cards to make 4 different decks that i like playing with. I have to say as of right now, battling isn't really much as skilled base more as just getting lucky when battling. I feel this app is gonna be amazing in the next coming months.
I feel like its the point of pocket for it to be more rng based tbh, there is 20 cards in a deck if there was a card like pidgeot ex, buddy buddy puffin, net ball (which is pretty much staples like in the current meta in PTCG) it would be way too broken because they can choose card to draw from the deck. Im honestly interested on how they handle it in pocket
To the question asked in the end The card in the pack is actually fixed by the time click “open a pack”. Someone has actually proven it by as below: Person A click open a pack, and is still in the pack selection part. Person B opens wonder trade and saw person A result. Person A then opens the pack and found its the same For the slant part, i remember someone saying that its the way you turn it, it doesnt matter much
Not exactly true. Online went offline, and was replaced by Live. Online and Live are simulators of real tcg game. Pocket has a simplified version of the game and uses its own cards.
@@aryakoddingson4860 Online was discontinued and Live substituted it. If you don't believe 2 people telling you that, just search it before trying correcting it again.
The only complaints i have so far is that i think you should be able to open more than 2 packs a day, and that the subscription doesnt feel worth it. Especially when more sets of packs come out, only 2 free packs a day wouldn't be worth it imo
The subscription needs to be a multiplier by x2 instead of one extra. If paying $10 a month is something they want majority of players to do, making it so that every 12 hours players get too open two packs instead of one will clearly show that your playing at twice the progress of a free to play player. That you will get 4 packs a day instead of just 3, which makes me iffy and not really wanting to buy the membership because it just doesn’t seem too worth the price to stick with it forever yk
@@Only_Some lol that's not it at all the devs just want more money they would rather you play the game for hours if they could hook you to the gameplay loop
Yea the rewards in this game is atrocius. Look at the achievement rewards. There is one that u have to win 10,000 versus battles and the reward is 100 shinedust???? Winning 10,000 versus battles requires at least an average of 1600 hours being put in the game if u have around 50% winrate. So the reward i get for playing the game for 1600 hours is a measly 100 shinedust??!? Are the devs insane??
Ive been having a lot of fun so far, I haven’t spent any money but I got the premium trial. The first couple events seem like they’re moving in the right direction, I just hope they plan to keep adding new things consistently because as is I feel like the game moves a bit slowly. It takes a lot of packs to get the cards for a playable deck. We need replay-able content that gives hourglasses, so that we can spend time actually playing the game and still progressing. The tier battles are good, but after you finish them you are severely limited with hourglasses and it kinda feels like a waste to spend more time playing.
Over the past year, I've finally been able to start collecting again, as well as improved my mental state. With all of this new outlook on life, I'm finally realizing why my eyes kept drifting back to yugioh and Pokémon (more specifically Pokémon). The nostalgia and the art. The mainline Pokémon games are fine and all, and I don't even hate playing the yugioh tcg like I did over the past few years, but I started getting into tcgs as a kid in the early 90s with Pokémon. Seeing how this game is seemingly catered more towards collectors than pvp, REALLY pushes me to start again. Here's hoping I can land a deal one day for a base set Charizard to close the wound my cousin made when he stole mine.
When new sets release theyll add more pve missions that will give you resources to get extra packs. It wont be anywhere near as generous as when you first start but im guessing youll get enough for an extra 10 to 20 packs each set. So between the initial new rewards each set plus the 2 packs a day for free, f2p players will get around 200 packs per major set (from what ive read theyre releasing 1 major set each quarter ie every 3 months with a mini set in between (so every 6 weeks). Plus therell be more events released as well, similar to the wonder pick and pvp ones that are live atm, which will also give additional resources as well as promo cards. Like the current pvp event gives you Lapras EX, which is a soild replacement for Articuno EX if tou havent opened it yet, plus an alt version of Mankey which actually makes it better as the promo version injures itself which allows the evolved version, Primape, to come out swinging at max damage. Imo between the free packs, the pack points you get which allows you to buy specific cards from the shop and trading (when its finally added) moat f2p players will be able to complete most base sets. P2p players will be more about collecting the higher rarity alt art cards like the immersive ones and the crown rares which are finctionallly the same as tbe base cards but just harder to pull. Also they have God packs in the game, the rates suck (0.05%) but its still a nice add imo.
What I like the most about this game is that you do get a generous helping of packs and hourglasses early on. You can EASILY grab 20 packs after a few days doing the challenges. If you hate your pulls, you can easily reroll. Do this if you want to start strong. If you see people go "It's just EX spam"; you should use your brain and devise using darkness or fighting pokemon to counter them. Sandslash and Arbok are fairly good cards that can be used. You could even just set up a private lobby and play your friends under house rules. The real gripe I have is this supporter card called Misty. Her card can target a water pokemon for and give energy equal to the amount of repeated heads flips (until you land tails). You can play this turn one and potentially attack instantly (Why!?)with an articuno GX; destroying the balance of the game. You will have to spend time actually building decks. Some cards are essential (sabrina/giovanni) others are essential for a type (erika/misty/blaine). I suggest spending some time essentially labbing against the gardevoir/ mewtwo ex to see what you're up against in pvp. It will be a climb. It will test your patience, but it aint pay to win (yet). Skillful play is here. Dont rush into the game because you wont enjoy it.
People are very quickly falling into the meta slavery of card games, which is I guess due to the game coming out in 2020's when that's the common mindset to have about the genre. It's just weird to see, considering it's a lot more casual game than a lot of the others. And actually a pretty well balanced so far, if we overlook the coin flipping mechanic, which at least to me feels like a strange way to balance out some powerful effects, but at least it's done in a fun way if nothing else. The game is free and PvP is not the focus. People can just jump in, collect some cards, never even play a match, maybe just build a deck or display a collection, and log out and still have fun.
i mean the game itself is basically 40% skill 60% RNG a lot of attacks and abilities are coin tosses. not to mention you can mostly determine victory or defeat within the first 2 turns based on your initial hand. odd how hey don't use a mulligan turn like yu gi oh and other ganes uses to do. you can do a new hand and shuffle if your current isn't good. (i had where i only had 1 basic mon and drew nothing and lost lol)
Misty is a pain because even getting just 1 energy with her is incredibly strong but you dont actually need her to payout with a water deck. the water deck i run has a bunch of units to stall and then two articuno ex and 1 lapras ex. i have a strat to win with it even if both my mistys give 0 energy so if they payout i usually get a early overwhelming advantage. water and electric are the only two decks that can sweep really early. water can with a early misty with a 2 or 3 payout and electric can with a full hand of basics and pika ex. water is just the only one that can occasionally turn 1 end a battle.
@@joeman123964 they circumvent the Mulligan by having you always draw at least 1 basic but yeah you can sadly still brick. Sometimes game really come down to the coin toss but much of the skill expression comes from setting yourself up not to lose to their lucky flip, their Sabrina or you drawing the wrong top deck. I recommend the Blaine deck if you want a fairly consistent deck without flips that pressures like crazy.
The difficulty of early collection and the pain of no resistances makes this a very difficult game to get into in my oppinion. I also would like a tap based control option
The auto deck building aspect of the game will not optimize your deck build on a competitive level, so if you're aiming to play the battles competitively, you're still going to have to brew up the deck yourself. IMO, both the Auto Battle and Auto Deck Building aspects of the game are mainly for the collectors since they'd still want to get the rewards from the Solo Battles. But even then, I'd imagine that it'll be difficult to clear all the quests in the more difficult levels of Solo Battles if you purely do Auto Battles.
About a month or so ago I began getting really into digital TCGs, mostly Yu-Gi-Oh! since that is what I had mostly played as a kid. I had played some of the Pokémon TCG but something about the game back then didn't click with me and my Pokémon card collection was never as big as my Pokémon collection. But between the one free pack TCG online and the way in which the streamlining of the TCG works for Pocket and the fact it's a format with a much more limited card pool than Yu-Gi-Oh's incredibly daunting thousands of cards stretching back 25 years of history all of which are still legal... Yeah, been enjoying this one a lot more. And presumably further down the line like the actual TCG this game is going to have some form of rotation and that will always keep the game fresh.
The game only got me interested for about 1 week. The gameplay format is almost 100% luck based and then if you have got the beat cards. And there's no advantage for going first. It's better to start 2nd. You get to attack first.
Incorrect, going first allows you to evolve first and supporters like Misty can cheat energy on your first turn. Articuno deck, dragonite deck, and Koga deck prefer going first and other decks have good turn one plays, like evolving to rapidash on your first attacking turn in a blaine deck. I'd say it's 80-20 luck to skill, ignoring the skill in deckbuilding to begin with.
Looks like u learned nothing or haven't used brain. Going first is good for trainers, pokemon that need to evolve fast for more dmg in 2nd turn. There's pokemon like rapidash (stage1) , that need only 1 energy. Combine it with Blaine and u have 70 dmg in turn 2. And that is just 1 example
Ive tried so many physical TCGs over the years (playing them, not just colleting the cards) but every time after about a month id stop playing jist because the games took too long and i didnt find any of them fun enough to make a hobby out of. However I picked up Marvel SNAP when it first lainched and have been playing daily since (ovwr 2 years now). I just started Pocket and i think its a blast. Yeah the games are simple and heaviky rng dependent but the speed of the matches makes it a lot more fun (for me, same with SNAP) so i actually prefer these mobile titles ovwe more traditional TCGs.
To be honest, as for the Auto battling, I've seen the AI make absolutely braindead decisions that cost me games before so I usually stick to manual unless I want to do something else. Also the auto-build deck function shouldn't be relied on either, because it doesn't necessarily choose the best cards for you. I know this because if you remove all the cards and tell it to build it again, it will make a different deck from before
The game has had about 3-4 tournaments within the last month and a website of weekly tournaments. Trust, this game will be fine if they keep the momentum. Next set drops january 29th
After you slice a pack open you can see a preview of what rarity your cards will be by turning the cards after opening before you swipe to see each and if you know what the borders look like u can kinda guess what you’ll get before swiping through.
It’s worth mentioning that after that initial glut of packs there are still a lot of opportunities to earn the hourglasses to open more packs: daily, dex & event missions have been very generous, I feel, and the introduction of times events has been steady and welcome. I hope it continues. I plan to save my hourglasses once I finish this set and use them when the next set launches in late January 2025
I personally love the auto build and auto battle features. Giving an example, I'll be looking through battle missions and one tells me to beat it with a deck from a type I don't use regularly. I'm also about to cook a meal. I auto build the deck, have it auto battle, then when it loses and I have a two second break make it auto battle again and win the challenge while multitasking around the house. Can't tell you how nice it is to have a game you're invested in be able to play itself when I'm busy getting ready for work or something. Then when I have a day off I can reap the rewards of all that auto battling and use a personally constructed deck with cards I earned from all those days when I could only half play the game and challenge someone online.
Pokemon tcg was always something i always wanted to get into but never could wrap my head around a card game that started in 1996 so this is nice for me who can get into battling with a fresh start... and get that dopamine hit from opening cards.
Basically, the Pokémon version of Duel Links in Yu-Gi-Oh a great way to get other people introduced to the card game. Really looking forward to what it has in stored in the future.
I like to think the bent packs add to the "realism" to opening them as does the choosing which pack you want on the wheel when in reality all of it doesn't matter
As a youngin who grew up a kid in the 90’s an seen and experienced Pokemon from the beginning I think it’s dope! Brings me back to being a kid and I kinda like that’s it’s mainly OG Pokemon with few new versions as I haven’t really watched any of the new stuff! Overall I give it a 8.5 outta 10
I really liked that they Nerft all the ex cards and banned all the v cards. it's feels so nice and refreshing. it's almost like evolution cards have a point again.
imagine my surprise on my lunch break playing tcg pocket while watching your analysis video about tgc pocket i feel seen and caught out at the same time😂
I'm at lvl 17 and I guess I can say I'm getting hooked. I'm not paying though, and have not play mobile games in years. But it's disappointing for the most part though. Like you save up so much wonder picks and spend three hoping to get that rare one but end up getting a diamond Pokemon that you've have already like seven of. And like others have mentioned, the packs are decided already the moment you clicked on it. Like in the first few days I was actually swiping to bet on a pack will be good and in those first few days I actually did get some good ones, but the last few days has been shet. And knowing they've decided your fate on those packs already, I lost hope when I open now. Just hurry and open the trade so we could trade around already. Add, also allowing only five claims from friends you've battle with, serious? To slow you down on purpose.
Im used to money sinks like genshin impact and star rail, so when i spent/played enough to open 200 packs so far. I was suprised to see that im only missing a few cards out of the entire collection, mostly 2 star rares. And knowing that the main card packs are updated every 3 months, someone spending only 10 dollars a month could very easily get most of the cards in a set. Then trade the rest. Especially with the amount of events happening right now for easy free packs
As a pretty dedicated player of the main tcg. I only really like this app for the exclusive artworks. The main game is a much more well thought out and full experience imo.
I’m enjoying the collecting aspect much more than battles. I’ve done all the solo battles but never had much fun. Just a little thing to play at the morning and night is quite fun
3:44 I guess you didn't play the AI battle there is rewards for quest/ missions on the top right side, if you met the requirement. Even if you have the auto battle on you can still get the rewards.
I collect irl for art and my favorites, but i never played the game, i do however love battling in pocket tcg, i havnt spent a dime on the game (yet) and im having a blast!
Honestly, I really wanted to learn how to play the Pokemon TCG with Prismatic Evolution next year, but pre orders are sold out and I was told it would be impossible to get any of those items. Also tried out Pokemon TCG Live, and honestly it seemed to boil down to a bunch of cards to find pokemon, draw cards etc etc. This game, to me, more so takes out the tedious elements of the TCG, more than simplify it. It just highlights that the TCG isn't complicated, it just has a lot of busy work.
honestly not a fan of pocket so far, I'm at the point where my daily packs are just giving me dupes of stuff I already have and won't ever use in pvp, and its only like once a week or so i open something new. On top of that, I'm really not a fan of the battling for how bad going first feels since for whatever reason they decided to change the tcg rules from disallowing the 1st player to use Supporters to disallowing them from attaching. With all the current 'meta' decks usually revolving around pokemon with super cheap energy costs like pikachu ex and staryu ex, going first feels like it forces you to fight an uphill battle where unless you're playing something that can ramp energy in some way to make up for it (like Misty flips, Gardevoir or Magneton+Surge+Raichu), you just have a much harder time keeping up. At least TCG is staying its' own distinct thing that I can play instead
I think it’s an okay start to a game. I don’t think there is going to be a point to trading unless they add a set of new packs alongside it since everyone is going to have roughly the same cards by the time it’s implemented. As of right now, the battles are not that fun. There aren’t enough cards to diversify decks and going first is just a waste of time, especially if you’re trying to complete the “win within X turns” missions. Like, at least let the person going first attach an energy. I’d rather be denied my first draw and not be able to attack first turn than not be able to attach energy, because then I could at least do something other than play trainers and pass.
The auto battle feature only exists in PVE modes and is unavailable when fighting real players. I think this strikes a nice balance because it allows you to use the feature to grind through the PVE content and get the rewards easily, while still having skill based PVP.
Like with most gacha games the auto is there to save from daily grind, but it definitely won’t help you in more difficult content or completing challenges. Personally love that the option is there
With each passing day I have more and more issues with the app. Levelling up is impossible, battles are infuriating because people who spend money just rampage through everyone else, you get packs so painfully slowly, Wonder Pick stamina and Event Battle stamina is insultingly slow, and I worry about how new packs will be added in the future. There is some very cute art in this game. But it is also extremely frustrating, between having no matchmaking, unfair stamina, and regular Gacha luck, and for that, I don't think the app is going anywhere unless it gets seriously overhauled.
I actually can't play Pocket TCG legally where I live so I had to find an APK of it to play it, have been enjoying it quite a bit so far, and when this video was loading I got the gold swirl (or what ever you want to call them) Pikachu.
My girlfriend and I collect so we both downloaded the game naturally. She doesn't like the battling aspect, so of course she's happy to have the auto battle feature.
I don't particularly enjoy the game but it's still an enjoyable experience but I've got to say collecting card in this game is incredibly fun. The artworks are amazing and opening packs is quite the experience, arguably the best mobile game from that point of view alone. I never cared about Pokemon cards ever but it still got me hooked up ngl.
@@FvkcRUclipsCensorship it's a booster opening game, it's pretty normal What's more annoying is completing missions just to get one of the 12 different useless currencies instead of more pack hourglass to open booster
I wish it was the full TCG... I only downloaded it at the behest of my younger brother, and it was fun, but after the initial novelty wore off... I could've sworn Pokemon had 5 bench spots. So I looked it up, and there's actually a bit that was cut. So now I'm a little disappointed that you can't hold energy in your hand, and you have fewer bench slots. Prize cards being replaced by generic points is something I don't have an opinion on, but 3-point battles just feel too short to me (especially paired with only 3-slot benches). Somehow, despite having only 20 cards... It almost feels more reliant on luck than I feel it otherwise would. Like energy! If you aren't playing a mono-color deck, you're just screwed when it comes to energy... You have to rely on total RNG to get the right energy. At least in the TCG (to my understanding), you can just hold on to multiple energies without it just fizzling out... And with more than 1 to choose from, more chance you get the color you need instead of merely being out of luck. That's my problem. Collecting the cards is neat, though.
I haven’t watched the video yet but I think pocket is alright so far but it’ll be good by January because that is when trading will get released, although I think it should already be out because it is a tcg ( *trading* card game)
Here's the honest truth: the game is shit. It's a whale trap with AWFUL tcg mechanics. Going first is such a huge disadvantage that literally the only thing you can do is play basics and items; you can't even attach an energy, putting you behind in energy AND damage right off the bat. The cards you get are fixed before you even choose a pack, and there are some absolutely powercrept BS cards that if you don't get lucky with your pulls, you either need to spend money or create another account to have even a hope of winning a game in the big basic meta. The heavy reliance on luck rather than skill and proper deckbuilding makes this EASILY the worst tcg app on the market.
It could be such a great fun little game but I can feel the evil seething microtransactions begging to be purchased at every turn. They load us up with a good amount of free stuff and then take it all away and let the game feel empty and boring.. some of us will give in and just start buying these digital packs with our hard earned money. Idk I’m holding out hope that it becomes more fun.
the auto battle is for the solo game only and i found its useful for the promo event thare are no Consequences for losing you dont loose stanama so find i deck that works tun on auto battle to gind for the random drop promo packs the other new event has you grind for wins for emblems Basically trophies that you can display on your app profile that are trophies that you can display on your Avatar profile As a way to show off how many wins you have is itresting thing tho so still no Consequences for loosing and that breaks the game thares a card called misty and in this vr of the game being first is a big disavantage you cant attach energy but you can play suporters 1st turn misty can have u flip a coin and attach energy for as many heads you get its completly broken get a hard hitting water pokemon win the coin flip and win 1st turn or less and thare is no Consequences for loosing so just Concede the battle early to grind out the wins
I thin the purpose of bent corners is just to allow these theories to exist and the placebo effect. Actually just like the whole carrousel thing, but this is a smaller detail. Superstitious people might still believe in it
Auto battle only works against bots. You can't use it against real people. It's basically there to help get through the tedium of really easy games that you don't need to think about because the bots aren't very good.
I’m a collector at heart, and I’ve been trying this app for a couple weeks and I’ve kind of lost interest in it. Pulled a few good art cards, just just isn’t the same as pulling a physical Moonbreon and having it physically.
Well the starter packs are so you could get a variety of cards to still have fun while you try to get your favourite cards also the game is not like 2 years old or smth it is kinda new trading will be coming conformed more packs and Pokemon are coming just wait plus I already see myself playing it long term and let me tell I have not even played cod free fire and other popular games long term even though I was pretty good at them it is a very good game

@ I agree with New Pokemon Snap, Mystery Dungeon DX and Detective Pikachu Returns But I consider the Legends series as part of the main series And Pokemon Unite is one of the apps, it just so happen to also have a Switch port
This game is a hardcore F2P buster. Statistically impossible coin flips are extremely common. If you’re a truly free player, you will soon start having the worst opening draws you can imagine. Even after reformulating the deck, it immediately draws the worst hands ever. Somehow, 90% of the games, 2 research, 2 pokeballs, and evolutions won’t show up until turn 3-5. The game is already lost without a chance by then. It got so bad that I couldn’t even test new decks. I ran a frostmoth/wigglytough ex deck and my opponent flipped 5 heads in a row to wake up. Not a single sleep stuck by the time he won. For anyone thinking it’s a “skill issue”, I have every solo challenge completed (all expert solo 3 diamond deck wins and weakness deck wins). The reason a game would manipulate free player RNG is to increase their bottom line. Why would a game ever want a player who’s not actively giving them money to take space on their servers? They don’t have any incentive to keep free players playing. In fact, it benefits them to kick the freeloaders off the servers to minimize load and maintenance over time. Think like a company and tell me I’m wrong. This game is horrible.

To the question asked in the end
The card in the pack is actually fixed by the time click “open a pack”. Someone has actually proven it by as below:
Person A click open a pack, and is still in the pack selection part. Person B opens wonder trade and saw person A result. Person A then opens the pack and found its the same
For the slant part, i remember someone saying that its the way you turn it, it doesnt matter much
Also it takes longer to load the ten pull than for the single pull, meaning all those packs in the single pull are the same
This is why there's a skip button on the bottom right, it's fixed as soon as you get to the pack itself.
Can we talk about the fact that this is the third tcg app for pokemon... and theyre all currently still online at the same time.
Not exactly true. Online went offline, and was replaced by Live. Online and Live are simulators of real tcg game. Pocket has a simplified version of the game and uses its own cards.
@bronx64 pretty sure online is still kicking actually.
@@aryakoddingson4860 Online was discontinued and Live substituted it. If you don't believe 2 people telling you that, just search it before trying correcting it again.
@@aryakoddingson4860 i can 100% assure you it's completely dead in the ground and not available
@@aryakoddingson4860 You are wrong.
I actually like pokemon masters AND TCG. Both are fun time killers with constant new content you never need to sweat on
I just want to see a ranked mode. I have no incentive of fighting other people and now that i've finished solo i got nothing to do on the game.
The only complaints i have so far is that i think you should be able to open more than 2 packs a day, and that the subscription doesnt feel worth it.
Especially when more sets of packs come out, only 2 free packs a day wouldn't be worth it imo
i dont think the devs want you glued to the game for hrs at a time. the way the game works does fix this as an issue
You get more free packs if you do missions though. So likely they will introduce new missions with new packs and you will get more cards that way
The subscription needs to be a multiplier by x2 instead of one extra.
This game is doing super well like holy. Its already reached 30 million downloads already. Honestly im surprised they haven't done this game sooner
People can just jump in, collect some cards, never even play a match, maybe just build a deck or display a collection, and log out and still have fun.
i mean the game itself is basically 40% skill 60% RNG
a lot of attacks and abilities are coin tosses. not to mention you can mostly determine victory or defeat within the first 2 turns based on your initial hand.
odd how hey don't use a mulligan turn like yu gi oh and other ganes uses to do. you can do a new hand and shuffle if your current isn't good.
They nerft ex cards and i so glad they did it.
I've never played the TCG before Pocket, and this may be a stepping stone to the full TCG for me
The difficulty of early collection and the pain of no resistances makes this a very difficult game to get into in my oppinion.
I've collected the cards since 98 and never figured out how to play. I've been playing the game and it's been fun learning how to play!
I like that when you get a card from someone from other region you can acess that card and display it on that original language
My favorite part of the app is the notification sound you get when you have a pack ready to open. It just itches my brain in the right way 😅
I forgot to put my phone on mute the other day and woke up terrified with that sound lol
I done everything the gave me and now died down to opening the packs daily
Rank 45
I think they need a ranked mode xD at least get a chance to win some points after winning a battle
Great content!!! Just hit level 50’couple days ago! And over 330 wins loving it🔥
Ive tried so many physical TCGs over the years (playing them, not just colleting the cards) but every time after about a month id stop playing jist because the games took too long and i didnt find any of them fun enough to make a hobby out of.
However I picked up Marvel SNAP when it first lainched and have been playing daily since (ovwr 2 years now). I just started Pocket and i think its a blast. Yeah the games are simple and heaviky rng dependent but the speed of the matches makes it a lot more fun (for me, same with SNAP) so i actually prefer these mobile titles ovwe more traditional TCGs.
so, when the actual reasonable opinions start?
To be honest, as for the Auto battling, I've seen the AI make absolutely braindead decisions that cost me games before so I usually stick to manual unless I want to do something else. Also the auto-build deck function shouldn't be relied on either, because it doesn't necessarily choose the best cards for you. I know this because if you remove all the cards and tell it to build it again, it will make a different deck from before
I have 400+ hourglasses and almost have all 151 plus tons of rares. Don’t purge your hourglasses folks. Patience will reward you
The game has had about 3-4 tournaments within the last month and a website of weekly tournaments.
In regard to the last question, I think the packs are "bent" or flipped over as 'easter eggs' for realism.
I like the condensed format to be honest. Once the content gets expanded I think it app will be no brainer for pokemon/TCG fans.
Yeah, I played it for three days now. I actually really enjoy it so far.
Basically, the Pokémon version of Duel Links in Yu-Gi-Oh a great way to get other people introduced to the card game. Really looking forward to what it has in stored in the future.
I'm honestly enjoying it
I'm enjoying it tbh. It's a way to be a collector of trading cards in a digital form. That don't make me spend to much money
The pulls might be fixed, but we enjoyed the experience of the physicality of it
I really liked that they Nerft all the ex cards and banned all the v cards.
it's feels so nice and refreshing.
it's almost like evolution cards have a point again.
The purpose of having bent corners is to make packs look more real. Just that
imagine my surprise on my lunch break playing tcg pocket while watching your analysis video about tgc pocket i feel seen and caught out at the same time😂
I don't think I'll play it much but it's pretty decent for what it is.
I like it because its accessible with simpler rules. They should add more incentives for Online PvP and other gimmicks to encourage continue play.
3:44
I guess you didn't play the AI battle there is rewards for quest/ missions on the top right side, if you met the requirement.
Even if you have the auto battle on you can still get the rewards.
I collect irl for art and my favorites, but i never played the game, i do however love battling in pocket tcg, i havnt spent a dime on the game (yet) and im having a blast!
The ad I got at the beginning of this video was, in fact, TCG Pocket lmfao incredible stuff
Its not that bad. Iam free to play and i got 45 ex card
Proof is on uploads
It was fun, but there’s not enough to do
I don't particularly enjoy the game but it's still an enjoyable experience but I've got to say collecting card in this game is incredibly fun. The artworks are amazing and opening packs is quite the experience, arguably the best mobile game from that point of view alone.
I never cared about Pokemon cards ever but it still got me hooked up ngl.
The annoying thing about the game is how many packs one must open in order to have a fully functioning deck that can compete with the meta.
@@FvkcRUclipsCensorship it's a booster opening game, it's pretty normal
What's more annoying is completing missions just to get one of the 12 different useless currencies instead of more pack hourglass to open booster
I deleted the game yesterday, just tired of that kind of open packs game, i doubt it is not manipulate the cards that you get.
The battles are painfully short. If you don't get your best cards right away, it's about to be a wrap. The EX cards only add to this pain point
Im waiting for trading. Also more cards to make battles less predictable
It could be such a great fun little game but I can feel the evil seething microtransactions begging to be purchased at every turn. They load us up with a good amount of free stuff and then take it all away and let the game feel empty and boring.. some of us will give in and just start buying these digital packs with our hard earned money. Idk I’m holding out hope that it becomes more fun.
nice vid, you touched on a lot of great points
the auto battle is for the solo game only and i found its useful for the promo event thare are no Consequences for losing you dont loose stanama so find i deck that works tun on auto battle to gind for the random drop promo packs the other new event has you grind for wins for emblems Basically trophies that you can display on your app profile that are trophies that you can display on your Avatar profile As a way to show off how many wins you have is itresting thing tho so still no Consequences for loosing and that breaks the game thares a card called misty and in this vr of the game being first is a big disavantage you cant attach energy but you can play suporters 1st turn misty can have u flip a coin and attach energy for as many heads you get its completly broken get a hard hitting water pokemon win the coin flip and win 1st turn or less and thare is no Consequences for loosing so just Concede the battle early to grind out the wins
auto play is more for the lapras event where you need to do a battle like 20 times over, it reduces the bore. also no auto play in online play at all!
I think it’s fun. Although I don’t really like the wonder pick stuff, I’d rather it just give me a complete random card every 12 hours
I think the two glaring problems with the game right now is the misty card and the HUGE disadvantage you have going first
Only you and verlisify are the few that I’ve seen criticize the game. It definitely needs to be called out more
I thin the purpose of bent corners is just to allow these theories to exist and the placebo effect. Actually just like the whole carrousel thing, but this is a smaller detail. Superstitious people might still believe in it
"you opened a pack? Here have a pack!" 😅 Hilarious!
Its definitely a money grab but damn its fun.
Auto battle only works against bots. You can't use it against real people. It's basically there to help get through the tedium of really easy games that you don't need to think about because the bots aren't very good.
Its fun so far but defo needs more, more content, rewards, incentives, etc.
I’m a collector at heart, and I’ve been trying this app for a couple weeks and I’ve kind of lost interest in it. Pulled a few good art cards, just just isn’t the same as pulling a physical Moonbreon and having it physically.
you missed out on zenonzard with auto battles even in pvp
in my oppinion i prefere the pokemom tcg live, the gameplay its closer to the original tcg and has lots more cards.
The starmie misty deck is so annoying to go against one misty can just win the game
3:36 the downside that the ai SUCKS! it can barley beat an intermediate battle let alone a expert so that is one terrible thing about it
Anyone else think this is a pokemon version to compete with duel links?
What's game is he playing in the video? BTW looks cool.
This is my 6th day playing it... It's getting boring when you are only paying less.
Lol bro just said he will 'own nothing and be happy' 😅 thats how they getcha!
It’s pretty neat.
No offence to anyone correct me if I was wrong at some point and if you start a war well then ay with g at the start
It’s a shame that apps have replaced spin-off titles
No more contained stories, only gameplay with an incentive to pay for Gatcha currency
uhhhh? in the last few years we've gotten New Pokemon Snap, Mystery Dungeon DX, Legends Arceus, Legends Z-A is on the way, Detective Pikachu Returns, Pokemon Unite, ......
@ I agree with New Pokemon Snap, Mystery Dungeon DX and Detective Pikachu Returns
But I consider the Legends series as part of the main series
And Pokemon Unite is one of the apps, it just so happen to also have a Switch port
Its the future of card collecting and its getting trade soon so yea 😂
My theory is that the bent corner was made only so people talk about it to popularize the game, very cheap tactic
