Does your puppy struggle when it comes to dealing with new environments? These places and things can be overwhelming for a young dog! What challenging environments have you exposed your puppy or young dog to that they struggled with?

Loved that you showed the positive benefits of a gentle leader, I get such grief from a lot of dog owners for using this fabulous tool. My pups get very excited when they get to put on the gentle leader, it gives them the same affect it gave Beeline, calm as there are no worries about corrections. Like you its just a tool and not a way of life, just support when they need an extra hand to deal with life. Thanks!

Love it! Thanks for showing some great ideas for socialization opportunities! Bee really liked that bird soaring over the water - what a good girlie to observe in control of her body! Can't wait to see more segments from McCann Dogs!

Glad you found this helpful! Bee REALLY did like seeing those seagulls, and all of the motion at the waterfront with the people and bikes etc was a lot for her to take in! We were REALLY happy with her emotional control and we look forward to her next trip there. Thanks for watching, Happy Training!

Great video. Thanks. We have been following your channel since just before we got our puppy in January this year. Out of interest, how long did the out and about bit of this trip with bee-line take. Our puppy is now 8 months old and we're still really focussed on trying not to keep him up too long between naps. We really notice how lack of sleep and challenging behaviour seem go hand in hand with our little dog so it would be great to hear if this trip was short and sweet, a couple of hours long or an afternoon, or what. I bet Bee-line got to have a great snooze all the way there and back.

How to do you deal with overstimulated puppies? We are always hesitant to take our 4-month-old border collie to new places, because he gets overstimulated so quick that he will start jumping and biting us. He gets very out of control.

I have a question from you. My puppy goes on a loose leash very comfortably halfway around the block and its amazing how fast he picked the concept up but midway through the block he becomes a completely different puppy and becomes extremely alert and fearful of everything around him. He starts pulling on the leash and he makes no eye contact with me and he is pulling to go back home in a rush. we stop by pulling him back and stay calm for a few seconds and I encourage him to stay calm but as soon as I move again he is pulling the leash to rush back home. Would you or anyone else reading this can make any suggestions?

Real dog socialize is just training your dog to follow your lead in public. Your dog should never great strangers or other dogs because this dulls their protective instincts, they should only have eyes for you & react when you need them to.

How do you get a three year old dog to stop barking every time she sees someone even if she knows the people?
