Yes! Start with one octave😀
@@LondonSaxophoneSchool your voice on this video ...❤ get better 🙏
@@eugeniaavilava584 ahaha yeah I was recovering from fever at the time of shooting..not fun to play like that at all ahah
Great advice thank you! It's minus 4 where we live and the instrument is always cold when i start!
Oh yes, you need to blow warm air into the horn… a lot! Ahah
Great advice and I do all three everyday. My problem is the overtones. I do overtones everyday and have been for over a year now. On the lower Bb I can get three out without too much trouble. Its the next one up which would be D that I cannot do to save my life, and believe me I try and try and try. I have done all the tricks which include singing it before, or trying to imagine the note and let the body adjust, and just plain hard work. Nada.
And here I come with the French connection. I learned the French letter R very young, and could speak French pretty well as a kid. Then I came to live in Spain where you roll your R´s. I cant roll an R to save my life. So there you go! I am blaming the French!
Hey Pete! Well done! Getting that high D overtone is a killer! For me is the hardest of all! Have you tried the next one, F, yet? Have you tried going back and forth between overtone and palm D?
If you book a call with me I'll be able to give you more insight on this.

I don't think the R has anything to do with this...it's just the way it is...a hard overtone to get out :)
@@LondonSaxophoneSchool Sorry if what I wrote is unclear but I have NOT reached the D. It literally is driving me nuts.
How many long notes would you recommend? Thanks.
It does not matter how many notes you do as long as they are well done which means kept until the very very end… using all the air you’ve got😀
